Su Weiyi and Su Man discussed for a mont, and Su Man decided to stay in the dormitory while Su Weiyi and Xie Xiaoran temporarily left. By the ti they walked out of the dorm building, the sky had completely darkened outside.
In the January winter, the nights are several degrees colder than the days. Xie Xiaoran only wore a thin sweater, while Su Weiyi pulled her down jacket closer, feeling a chill wind rush inside through her collar, making her shiver. Looking at Xie Xiaoran again, she found her walking completely as usual, except for her cheeks flushed from the cold, with no other signs of discomfort.
Su Weiyi wanted to ask what was going on. Although she subconsciously chose to believe Xie Xiaoran’s words, she really didn’t know what this had to do with her.
But now, the cold wind was biting; as soon as she opened her mouth, she felt it rush in. Su Weiyi suppressed it and closed her mouth again.
When they reached the school gate, Xie Xiaoran spoke: "Let’s find a random place to stay; I can’t afford anything too expensive. Can you?"
Su Weiyi was about to nod when she suddenly rembered sothing. She pressed her finger on her small bag and exhaled a breath of white air: "Follow , I’ll take you sowhere."
Su Weiyi led Xie Xiaoran to a taxi parked by the roadside. After giving the address, the driver smiled: "Girls, you need a taxi for such a short distance?"
"The weather’s too cold."
The driver glanced at the two girls in the back seat and said understandingly: "Alright then, I won’t turn on the ter. Since it’s just around the corner, you can give five bucks."
There are two types of taxis in B City: gasoline and natural gas. The forr has high costs, while the latter is cheap. The current vehicle was the latter, and apparently, the driver felt compassion for the two girls.
Su Weiyi smiled and thanked him.
It really was just around the corner. During the day, they could walk there, just a fifteen-minute journey that took only three minutes by car.
Stopping at the entrance to the residential area, Su Weiyi paid the fare and got out. Xie Xiaoran was sowhat astonished, but Su Weiyi had already walked a few steps forward, looking back at her: "Let’s go."
The house here was the one Mr. Sheng had given her the key to today. Su Weiyi rembered Mr. Sheng saying that the renovations had been completed and Aunt had cleaned it, so she could move in anyti.
The residential area was quite large. Finding the place was a challenge, but eventually, Su Weiyi took out the key and entered. When she turned the lights on, she was slightly dazed.
This was truly a house prepared specifically for her; the interior decorations matched her preferences.
The house wasn’t big, featuring one bedroom, one studio combined with a study, a bathroom, a living room connected to a dining area, and an open kitchen. The chandelier in the living room twined like vines, exuding artistry.
The sofa and coffee table were compact, but a carpet underneath gave it a chic vibe.
Su Weiyi found and activated the heating switch, warming up the entire room quickly. She headed to the kitchen, unfamiliar as she’d never been there before. After so fumbling, she managed to boil two cups of hot water.
Xie Xiaoran was already seated on the sofa, maintaining her calm deanor, but her expression was evidently tense.
Su Weiyi placed a cup in front of her: "What exactly is going on?"
Xie Xiaoran gripped the warm cup with her hands, still numb from the cold, and began to explain simply and briskly: "Did you have dinner today with soone nad Lu Zhang?"
Su Weiyi was completely taken aback by this, especially how could she know she had dinner with Lu Zhang?
Wait a minute, recalling the gossip Su Man ntioned earlier, could it be... could it be that she and Lu Zhang having dinner was caught on cara?
