Sheng Yanxiao ca out of the shower with wet short hair dripping water, and his eyes t Su Weiyi’s. Both of their faces were a bit uneasy.
Su Weiyi poured a glass of water for Sheng Yanxiao and walked over to hand it to him.
Sheng Yanxiao went to sit on the sofa. Su Weiyi was about to do sothing when she suddenly heard the young man’s voice behind her, slightly serious: "Weiwei, let’s go public."
Su Weiyi was instantly stunned, of course, she understood what Sheng Yanxiao ant by "going public".
This wasn’t about telling strangers, but about telling family.
Telling their parents, telling them their daughter has beco their son’s girlfriend.
This issue has always stood between the two, and previously, both Su Weiyi and Sheng Yanxiao felt that they’d wait until Sheng Yanxiao turned eighteen to say anything. Even though he was mature for his age, it would still be best to wait until he was legally an adult.
However, Su Weiyi knew deep down that when Sheng Yanxiao turned eighteen, unless he forcefully went public, she would likely retreat back into her shell.
Yet, Su Weiyi never expected Sheng Yanxiao to bring it up today.
After being stunned for two seconds, Su Weiyi turned around and went back to Sheng Yanxiao’s side, sitting on the sofa next to him, her lips moved: "Why?"
"I want to."
Sheng Yanxiao’s explanation was concise.
Su Weiyi, usually gentle as water, beca firm for once: "No, I don’t agree."
She wasn’t ntally prepared, nor did she know what the Sheng Family’s reaction would be once they were inford. She admitted she was scared, though she didn’t entirely understand what she was afraid of.
Afraid of their rebuke? Afraid of their shock? Afraid of their anger?
It seed so, yet not entirely.
Sheng Yanxiao looked at her with blazing eyes, the handso young face was now filled with a particularly serious earnestness, his dark eyes seed to see through everything.
His beautiful brows furrowed slightly. After a long while, Sheng Yanxiao finally spoke: "Weiwei, if they don’t agree, if they are very resolute in their disapproval, would you still want ?"
Su Weiyi was stunned. Sheng Yanxiao’s tone carried so helplessness, along with a bit of certainty, and a mix of emotions that couldn’t be discerned, tangled together, sounding alarming.
Su Weiyi didn’t know how to answer imdiately. She had thought about this question before but had never found any answer.
Or rather, she was afraid to think about the answer.
In Su Weiyi’s mont of hesitation, Sheng Yanxiao had already stood up, grabbing the coat beside him: "I understand now."
Having said that, he opened the door and left.
Only with the sound of the door closing did Su Weiyi suddenly snap back to reality, hurriedly standing up but unable to move her feet.
She didn’t understand why Sheng Yanxiao suddenly brought this up; they had clearly agreed to wait until he was an adult.
But Sheng Yanxiao’s attitude just now, his tone, made Su Weiyi feel he was serious, not arising from a temporary whim, he seed genuinely sincere.
Outside, the drizzle continued. Sheng Yanxiao didn’t have an umbrella, but he didn’t mind. He walked out of the community, hailed a taxi, and went to a nearby hotel. The young man’s handso face now wore an expression of indifference, the rebellious spirit missing, leaving a penetrating aloofness.
As if he lived entirely in his own world, with no one able to approach, nor did he allow anyone to.
