Chapter 57: Legendary World Quest Unlocked! The Freeze of Aeria!
“Phew...”
Bai Xuan stepped out of the shower, collapsed onto his bed, and let out a long, weary breath.
Bai Yu’s words from earlier still echoed in his mind, stirring a tangle of thoughts he couldn’t shake.
He had the Book of Worlds. If only he had a little more ti, he was certain he could protect Bai Yu.
But he knew her too well. Bai Yu would never resign herself to a quiet, sheltered life behind soone else. She had her own ideals and ambitions—she would never be content simply following in another’s footsteps.
Perhaps joining the Investigation Bureau in Baihai City really was the right choice for her.
Especially since the invitation had co directly from Deputy Director Liu Mufei.
“If only I could use Legendary Perspective on Yu-jie...” Bai Xuan muttered under his breath.
If he could use Legendary Perspective on Bai Yu, he could guarantee her safety—and keep a close watch on everything happening within the Baihai City Investigation Bureau.
Especially that Deputy Director Liu Mufei. She’d shown up in Ninghang City more than once, repeatedly inserting herself into his life. That woman was far too dangerous.
Unfortunately, Bai Yu wasn’t a Legendary. He couldn’t observe her through Legendary Perspective; at most, he could only teleport to allied units.
Still...
Bai Xuan pulled up his Combat Settings interface.
Since it was a Setting, shouldn’t it be upgradeable?
As he considered this, a gentle voice suddenly whispered in his mind:
“Hello, my na is Isiah.”
...Huh?
Bai Xuan’s eyes snapped open. He glanced around the room warily, bewildered.
Who? Who’s speaking to ?
Wait—
“What’s wrong, Master?” Serene looked up from her manga, eyes curious.
Mare Alera glanced over, releasing her spit-soaked pillow, her gaze puzzled.
“It’s nothing...” Bai Xuan shook his head, though his heart was pounding.
He was certain he’d just heard a woman’s voice.
But... it seed only he had heard it?
“Who are you?” he asked silently in his mind.
“Isiah,” ca the ethereal reply. “But you may also call —the Pope of Light.”
“The Pope of Light?”
Bai Xuan froze in shock.
He hadn’t expected this at all—the voice was actually the Pope of Light!
He instinctively glanced at Serene, then asked, “Weren’t you frozen? How are you able to...?”
“I left a sliver of my divine power within Serene’s soul. When you approached my true body, it awakened,” the Pope of Light replied softly.
“I see...”
Everything suddenly made sense to Bai Xuan.
“My divine power won’t last long, so I’ll help you as much as I can,” Isiah said gently. “Young man, is there anything I can do for you?”
Oh?
A spark of hope flickered in Bai Xuan’s chest.
If he could get Isiah’s help, maybe he could get past those two Phantom Angels guarding the Sacred Pool.
“Your Holiness, you rember the two Phantom Angels guarding the Sacred Pool, right?” he asked.
“I do,” Isiah replied softly. “You wish to enter the Sacred Pool?”
“Yes.”
“It’s actually quite simple. Just extinguish the two Stones of Light above the temple doors, and the Phantom Angels will vanish.”
“There’s a trick like that?” Bai Xuan’s eyes lit up.
“However...” Isiah paused, then continued, “While extinguishing the Stones of Light, you will encounter certain dangers.”
“What kind of danger?” Bai Xuan pressed.
“You’ll be subjected to the pressure of the ‘Eye of Light.’ It may impact your Spirit. Of course, if you can withstand the ntal assault, it will also benefit you.”
“ntal pressure, huh?”
At that, Bai Xuan’s confidence surged.
Hadn’t he just obtained the [ntal Immunity] Character Setting?
In theory, the Eye of Light’s pressure shouldn’t affect him at all.
Unless...
“Thank you for the warning. I know what to do now,” Bai Xuan said gratefully.
“No need to thank ~” Isiah replied with a gentle smile. “This is for that child, and for this world.”
“And I should thank you as well, for caring for her, young man.”
“Your Holiness, just call Bai Xuan,” he replied quickly.
“Very well, Bai Xuan.” Isiah’s voice was warm. “Bai Xuan, may I ask you for one more favor?”
“Please, go ahead.”
“This may place an invisible burden on you,” Isiah’s tone turned solemn, “but if you can turn the gears of fate, defeat the Night Witch, and save the World of Aeria... I will grant you anything you desire.”

“And the reward is a World Setting?”
Bai Xuan stared at the system prompt hovering before his eyes, excitent bubbling within him.
Still, an A-rank mission wasn’t sothing he could charge into recklessly. He needed to be cautious.
“It’s a promise, Your Holiness,” Bai Xuan said with a smile to Isiah in his mind. “If I find a way to save Aeria, you’ll grant any request I make.”
“Of course~”
As the conversation faded, Bai Xuan turned to Serene.
“Serene, let’s go. It’s ti to challenge those two Phantom Angels again!”
...
Ninghang City, Lakeside Villa.
Su Yue sat quietly by the window, replaying the words of the man in the Sli Mask. If she could escape her current predicant, she’d have a chance to join his organization.
“Escape this predicant...”
Su Yue murmured, her mind racing.
She knew this was a once-in-a-lifeti opportunity.
Right now, she was being targeted by the Extremist Organization, and she felt nothing but indifference toward the Investigation Bureau. Her options were dwindling.
That man’s organization—though small—was made up of extraordinary individuals.
But the true key was growth.
Su Yue had noticed that every ti the Lady Knight appeared, she wielded so new power.
That was the real reason Su Yue wanted to draw closer, to join them.
She hoped to beco their friend. More than that, she longed for trustworthy companions.
But Su Yue was painfully aware—her Anomalous Ability was far too unique.
Unless the world forgot her, neither the Investigation Bureau nor the Extremist Organization would ever stop fighting over her.
“Let the world... forget ?”
A sudden realization flickered in Su Yue’s eyes.
She picked up her phone and dialed a number.
“Hello, is this Investigator Li Hongyou? I’ve decided—I’ll cooperate with the Investigation Bureau. But I have one condition...”
