The assembly horn sounded, even if they were eating, they had to put down their wooden bowls.

The Long Spearman where Lauren was located quickly threw down their bowls and stood up at the Brigade Commander’s shout, picking up their own long spears from the ground beside them.

"Third Long Spear Division, line up on my left side!" The Brigade Commander quickly walked to the gentle slope in front of the camp, placed the feather spear horizontally, and shouted loudly.

Lauren, as the Brigade Commander, quickly walked to his designated position.

According to the "Holy Canon," the direction pointed by the feather spear is the facing direction, and the head Brigade Commander must be parallel to the feather spear.

Beside him, one War Monk after another rushed over carrying long spears, standing still relying on muscle mory.

From a bird’s eye view, it looked like fragnted black longsword pieces being reversed to restoration.

Piece by piece, the fragnts of longswords continuously rged, and the two Long Spearman eventually ford a 10X10 spear formation.

In just over 2 minutes, Lauren’s Long Spearman was the first to prepare for battle because they were nearby.

"Third Long Spear Division—" blowing a whistle, the Brigade Commander shouted loudly, "Rear Regint Formation!"

Under the leadership of the Brigade Commander, the War Monks quickly adjusted their ssy formation, following the person in front as a reference.

Lauren looked forward, judging the correct distance between him and the person ahead was an arm’s length.

Then he looked to the right to adjust the left-right distance; with one glance, he knew sothing was wrong.

Little Malok stood in place beside him, his face green, staring straight at the cavalryn holding torches in the distance, trembling all over.

Lauren quickly lowered his voice and shouted, "Little Malok, no moving in front of the formation."

Without that, it would be fine, but saying it made Little Malok unable to handle it, his face paled, "I, I, I... I won’t fight anymore, I want to go ho."

As he shouted, his body instinctively turned backward, Lauren was both anxious and angry, reaching out to grab his collar.

But before Lauren could move, the veteran behind Little Malok was already like lightning.

"Smack!"

The thick palm swung round, like a teor, slapped onto Little Malok’s left face, a bright red palm print swelled rapidly.

Lauren could even see the ripple wave of his cheek muscle.

Such a forceful hit not only struck Little Malok stupefied from fear but also forcibly turned his face back to its original direction.

Little Malok, mouth agape, stood stupefied, saliva and nose blood flowed together from the swollen palm print.

And it wasn’t over, the veteran grinned and shouted towards the first row, "Malok, your brother wants to run."

The veteran in the front row spun his head back, backhanded a slap onto Little Malok’s right face.

"Do you want to kill ? Stand properly!" Malok hissed sinisterly, turning his head.

"What are you all doing? No moving, no talking!"

Gripping the feather spear, the Brigade Commander slled the scent and successfully stopped the War Monks’ movents before returning to his position.

With tears, the stunned Little Malok with a face like a monkey’s rear stood in place.

Lauren gave him a contemptuous glance, internally thankful for the new recruit arrangent this ti.

Within the Black Hat Army, odd rows were veterans, even rows were recruits, three rows of veterans paired with two rows of recruits.

The elite veterans front and back enclosed the recruits securely, trying to run unless all the veterans were dead.

These recruits indeed had never been on the battlefield, nor received training for cavalry charges.

Back when Malok was dealing with giant spiders in Daze Village, their performance was not much better than this brother.

"Third Long Spear Division, prepare for attack! Angle the spears!"

"Holy Father above!"

The War Monks of the Third Long Spear Division roared in unison, tightening their grip on their spears, angling the spear tips forward.

Left leg bent forward, right leg pressed back, lowering the head to look at the ground, keeping the helt angled upward.

Sure enough, a wave of rough arrow rain descended from the sky, impinging on the monks’ brimd helts and shoulder armor, clanging as they dropped by their feet.

"Fifty steps!"

In the night sky, a few sporadic gunshots were heard, Lauren’s eyes watched the ground, knowing the Holy Gunn hadn’t gathered.

Since the horse bandits struck the rear middle section where the Long Spearn were stationed, the front most were Long Spearn.

And as for the Holy Gunn, they were further away and surprised by the sudden night attack, hadn’t yet had ti to form ranks.

Simply put, due to not being in the camp, the narrow terrain only allowed for camping in a single line, resulting in the inability to look after head and tail.

Lauren looked down at the ground vibrating stones, which were the concretization of horseshoes pounding the ground.

But he expected these horse bandits didn’t have the guts to directly charge the spear formation—that’s a feat only the strongest Knights dared to do.

Sure enough, at ten paces, the tide-like horse bandits loudly swirled toward the right.

These black-clad soldiers then stood like stone sculptures by the seaside, no movent under the waves’ assault.

Grush furrowed his brows, while Defort beside him bared his eyes red, shouting madly, "Again!"

With thunder-like hoof beats, two hundred cavalryn circled back once more, again narrowly passing by the infantry formation front, but the black-clad soldiers still unmoved.

The arrow rain only took down a few people a little, yet many were impaled through the neck by spears due to uncontrollable horses.

Grush furrowed his brows, seeing the roadsides were surging with torch-lit dragon formations.

"What do we do? Should we retreat?"

"Retreat? With such a good opportunity." Defort gritted his teeth, "I’ll lead the Sword Armor Soldiers forward, you go and hold off their reinforcents."

"All right." Grush agreed and led dozens of horse bandits charging towards the approaching other troops.

This ti, over a hundred horse bandits dismounted instead of circling.

The front row of more than thirty breastplate horse bandits, carrying battle axes and great swords, grinned wickedly and rushed towards the spear formation.

"Third Long Spear Division..."

"Fourth Long Spear Division..."

"Running impact!"

Two brigade commanders shouted angrily at the sa ti.

"Holy Father above!" A hundred Long Spearman exploded with a unified cry and stepped forward, charging back towards those horse bandits.

This left the grinning bandits bewildered, just what kind of formation is this?

Before the bandits could figure it out, the twenty-odd steps in between quickly vanished amidst the mutual charge.

The sounds of weapons clashing with armor rang continuously, massive waves of sound spreading from the impact center.

Long spears carrying gusts of wind pierced into bodies, cunningly sliding along the edges of armor into throats and underarms.

Severed limbs and shattered blades flew together, blood mingled with firelight, throats, chests, abdons, limbs occasionally spraying misty blood.

Streams of blood flowed beneath leather boots, floating chunks of blood and intestines.

The bandits looked on in terror as their comrades in front fell one by one, the two rows of long spears stabbing chanically back and forth, yet with each thrust accurately killing an enemy.

"Sothing’s not right, too many armored soldiers!" Fighting through the surging crowd, Defort’s close aide held his helt, "Our casualties are quite heavy, should we run?"

Defort’s face turned ashen, never imagining these Long Spearn would dare counterattack, instantly crushing the bandits’ montum.

Bandits in battle always emphasize formation, mainly focusing on striking when the montum is good and retreating when not.

This wave of long spear charge directly collapsed Defort’s montum.

Upon entering the chaotic retreat stage, as an old player Defort imdiately realized the most crucial thing was not to beco the one being abandoned.

"Run where? If we run, they charge, there’s no escaping." Defort gritted his teeth, "Fire the signal arrow, tell Grush to co save us."

"Bang bang bang!"

Amidst the gunshot sounds like popcorn, the massive airflow shook the array of hundreds with a violent wind.

Torches swayed in the wind, dozens of pieces of lead larger than fingernails crashed into the flanks of the bandits led by Grush.

Unlike iron sand bullets, the softer, more flexible lead crawled like worms in their flesh, creating gaping blood holes.

The severe pain caused the bandits to cry out shafully, even streams of urine flowed down saddles.

After the storm, facing the Holy Gunn, only the bandits’ backs remained.

The bandits brought by the wind were swept back by the lead storm, landing right at Defort’s location.

"My brother Grush is reliable, isn’t he?" Defort exclaid in surprise, slapping his thigh, "One signal arrow and they ca."

"Boss, I haven’t fired the signal arrow yet..."

Upon reaching Defort’s area and seeing the bandits continuously retreating down the slope, an anxious Grush quickly understood.

He clenched his teeth, drew his cavalry saber, and personally led the charge towards the spear formation.

At this ti, the spear formation had already beco chaotic in the lee, truly allowing Grush to seize the opportunity.

He violently raised his horse hooves, kicked aside two blocking black-clad soldiers and bandits, and charged into the lee.

"Attention, form ranks!"

Not seeing the brigade commander, as the brigade leader, Lauren could only shout loudly.

Afraid of being directly charged on the flank by the bandits, the war monks imdiately reford their ranks under harsh reprimands and kicks from veterans.

"Left thrust with spears!"

Grush, however, was not confused by the retreat of the black-clad soldiers, he did not linger in battle, directly locating Defort amidst the crowd.

He forcibly grabbed Defort’s arm, pulling him onto the horse.

The rest of the bandits similarly grabbed soone onto their horses, turned their mounts, and rapidly headed to the place where horses were tethered.

The Holy Gunn and other Long Spearn finally arrived, located at the side of this slope.

"Fire!" Juer Dan’s angry shout rang out.

Amidst the sweeping wind and lead, another two to three dozen bandits slumped from their horses, curling up in painful screams.

Grush imdiately turned his horse again, abandoning remaining comrades and horses, swiftly disappearing into the forest with dozens of people.

"Chase!"

Riding a mule and rushing in, Mira enviously glanced at the bandits’ abandoned horses, pursuing Grush.

Just now, they hadn’t exerted any effort in the battle, these horses were not theirs to claim.

But if they chase now, even if unable to catch up, they could at least earn so credit when dividing the spoils afterwards.
