The iron projectile, the size of a fist, traced an arc and crashed into the reeds, sending a mass of mud and grass into the sky.

As the strong wind blew, Tasjin bent down again, fearing he might reveal himself from behind the grass.

Peering through the gap in the reeds, he lay flat on the wet ground, nestled behind a mound, squinting his eyes to observe the battlefield's situation.

After fleeing, Tasjin did not leave the battlefield but, along with a few companions, found a nearby place to lie in ambush.

Although he still didn't know which knight had ordered to block him, as long as it wasn't the Count, it was no big deal.

Even though just thinking about the scene made his heart palpitate inexplicably, it didn't stop him from staying there.

When the Wizard gets furious, everyone's legs are bound to go weak, but when you bump into Monks and Extraordinary Knights, things are hard to predict.

If the situation turned favorable, he could join in seamlessly, which would justify the one gold coin Duke of Bodosa paid him each month.

As a rcenary, Tasjin still held a strong professional ethic.

The first "Iron teor" streaked through the air, accompanied by a sharp whistle as it slamd into the ground.

Tasjin held his breath, his heartbeat nearly skipping a beat.

However, the lone shell stopped just in front of the knight formation's line, and the churning mud and grass obscured the view.

These Extraordinary Knights and elite rcenaries were mostly seasoned battlefield veterans, with morale and resilience significantly higher than regular soldiers.

They were shocked for a mont, the frontline halted in confusion for a few seconds, but quickly regained composure under the reprimanding of Count Kazi's supervising team.

"How is it, old friend Tasjin? You have good eyes. Is this battle easy to win?"

"We haven't even engaged yet, let's see." Tasjin pulled his head back from the mound, whispered sideways, "But from what I see, it should be fifty-fifty. The accuracy of those teors isn't great; they fired seven or eight tis and only injured one person."

As long as this knight's phalanx withstands the teor bombardnt, once it's close combat, with the scattered formation of those infantry from the Thousand River Valley, the knights have a bigger chance to win.

Of course, if the knights collapse first, by the ti the elite Shepherd Head Imperial Guard cos up from behind, it'll probably be a rout, losing helts and armor.

"So, it's still a contest of willpower, then."

"Yes, who could have thought." Tasjin sighed, "Infantry can actually compete in willpower with knights, no wonder Prince Kongdai was caught off guard."

"I heard the Autocratic Duke of the Thousand River Valley is recruiting Land Servants and is very generous with the pay. Once we finish here, why don't we check it out?"

"We're still in a battle, you're getting ahead of yourself." Tasjin kicked his helt with a foot, "Focus, stop daydreaming."

Just as Tasjin finished speaking, he was interrupted by the booming sound that echoed again. He imdiately fell silent, clutching a clump of stone, peering half his head out from behind the mound.

This ti it was still an "Iron teor," but as the knights and Salvation Army continued moving against each other, this teor had already crashed into the knight's phalanx side just a few dozen steps away.

A wave of mud composed of rot and duckweed surged up, shaking the entire puddle, even causing a few water snakes and water rats to stumble ashore, disappearing into streams in panic.

A nauseating stench swirled in the wind, altering quite a few knights' expressions slightly.

This sll isn't right.

"How is it?" Louise, present in person, asked Mormon about the effect of the two cannon tests.

Mormon lowered his telescope: "The targeting is about accurate. Anyway, the eagle falcon cannon is a flat shot, these two shots were just to position for the dune cannon."

"How long until the dune cannon can be brought in?"

"Uh." Mormon pulled out his pocket watch, "I think it might take about fifteen minutes. Mainly because the opposing commander is rather smart, taking the inner side route, our gryphon ship cannon still can't hit them, it's a pity…"

"But you can rest assured, I have arranged beforehand for two regints of the Divine Punishnt Army, carrying ten eagle falcon cannons through the side forest, by then, they can double with Holy Wind."

"Very well." Louise nodded, hesitating for a few seconds, still asked, "Are you sure I don't really need to take the field?"

"Please don't take the field." Mormon hurriedly intercepted, "If you take the field, these guns don't have eyes. What if you get hit? We wouldn't know what to do."

Louise, looking slightly disappointed, lit a pipe: "Alright, then I'll go check how the hydraulic winding machine installation is going."

After Louise left, Mormon, spiritedly, continued to calculate the distance using the telescope.

"Six hundred paces… about there." Muttering to himself, Mormon instructed the adjutant beside him, "Firing angle 2, every seven cannons as a group, alternate firing, once the enemy is within one hundred fifty paces, retreat after firing the shells in the cannon."

After the two cannon positioning test shots, the first cannon asured the longitudinal distance, the latter the lateral distance, within the astrologers' calculations, fourteen eagle falcon cannons began slowly adjusting their barrel's lateral direction.

"Praise Holy Wind!"

As if the Thunder God from Norn legend was driving a chariot across the sky, amidst the rumbling sound, seven cannonballs shot out in a flat trajectory.

"They're coming!" Tasjin, hiding behind the mound, muttered a low roar, then focused all his attention on the battlefield.

In his constantly blinking eyes, the distant shells rapidly transford from blurry black dots into the whistling winds of Fire Prison.

"Ah—" The continuous screams instantly filled the knights' ears, in nearly a mont, a total of eight knights from the first three rows were almost knocked to the ground.
