The flail smashed heavily on a knight's forehead, leaving him dazed and disoriented.

Knights who had lost the height advantage of their warhorses found themselves struggling against the spears and flails constantly jabbing at them from behind the wagons.

With the second round of the Gryphon cannon's thunderous roar, the main force of the Extraordinary Knights retreated like a tide.

In front of the war chariots, about twenty or thirty knight corpses were left behind like starfish after the tide recedes.

Watching the retreating figures of the Extraordinary Knights, they still couldn't believe it.

Could they actually kill knights? Wasn't the Thousand River Valley always a symbol of weakness?

Not only the soldiers were puzzled, even the Duke of Redwood couldn't understand.

Seeing the Two-headed Raven banner rapidly approaching from the rear, it was clear how furious the Duke was at this mont.

Such thoughts were natural; the Thousand River Valley rebellion war seed nothing more than an ordinary suppression war to outsiders.

However, those who participated knew how brutal the war was, forging an extrely extre military system.

The Thousand River Valley People always faced the Empire's elite, thinking that all knights in the world were the sa.

Yet, the knights of the Shattered Stone Plain taught the soldiers a lesson at this mont.

Watching the vague figures in the rain, many soldiers who had been randomly stabbing and striking suddenly recalled most of the previous close-combat training content as if enlightened.

Transforming from new soldiers to veterans often happens in an instant.

"Push the Griffin cannon to the riverbank. If the knights break through, push the cannon into the river."

Retracting the binoculars, the first words from Bether shocked the surrounding officers.

"Mr. Bether, what do you an by this?" a Captain Bai couldn't help but ask, "The Griffin cannon is our main cargo this ti. If we lose it, we'll be in big trouble."

"We don't have the Griffin cannon's winding chanism, the spring warehouse is loose, and the water-driven winding on the Iron River is barely sufficient for supplying the Hawk cannon," Bether glared at him, yelling impatiently, "If the Broken Stone Primordial People seize the Griffin cannon, can you bear that responsibility?"

That Captain Bai was rendered speechless.

"The Holy Power is limited, and we don't know when reinforcents will arrive."

Bether bypassed them, placing his hands on his hips, and started directing the laborers to push the Griffin cannon.

The knights were not deterred by their first wave's failure. Soon, the attendant knights started maneuvering within range once again.

This seed to be their devised strategy against the Saint guns and Spring Cannons.

Using low-end manpower to deplete resources, they seized the opportunity to launch attacks.

On the relatively flat plains of the Shattered Stone, this tactic proved quite effective.

Thus, the second wave, the third wave, and each ti, there would be over a dozen more bodies in front of the war chariots.

At the sa ti, behind the chariots, the ground was littered with unconscious Holy Gunn stuffing tranquilizing ointnt into their noses.

Kneeling beside an unconscious Holy Gunman, Old Laver glanced at the rising water levels of the Iron River and reached to pluck a leech climbing up his calf.

Kaler said nothing, tightly gripping the dagger in his hand, staring intently at the approaching Armored Knights in the distance.

"Praise the Holy Wind!"

He could see the lead bullets tearing through the air, forming pathways in the mist.

This ti, due to the volley and the relatively close distance,

the Holy Gunn perford increasingly well. After this round of the Holy Wind, they actually managed to unhorse more than ten knights.

However, unlike before, the Duke of Redwood had issued a death order this ti, forcing the knights to drink potions.

Even though over ten knights were unhorsed, under the effect of potions and Divine Art, the remaining knights continued to battle fiercely.

In the rain, four knights with red-feathered arrows hanging from their waists were already charging through the Holy Wind.

The heavy hamrs in their hands swung effortlessly, producing dull whooshing sounds through the air.

The leading knight raised his heavy hamr, striking violently towards a wagon.

The wagon's plank splintered instantly, and the soldiers at the breach stared blankly at the gigantic Armored Knight before them.

Before they could flee, the heavy hamr crushed down, blood splattering, and the soldier's head was driven into his chest cavity.

Moreover, the warhorse, possessing a sort of intelligence, kicked its hooves out, knocking the wagon aside, creating a huge opening.

"Damn, it's the Imperial Knights." Captain Bai shouted, grabbing a halberd from the service soldier, "Young n, follow !"

With that, Captain Bai charged out first. This was the ultimate truth they had learned in the Thousand River Valley war—only by risking their lives could they survive!

"Follow , hold them off!" Old Laver, losing his composure in a rare mont, charged with bloodshot eyes.

The courage of the mountain people from Thousand River Valley erupted.

Including Laver, dozens of Long Spearn holding spears roared and charged forward.

But the knight's riding skills were quite impressive; despite being clad in heavy armor, he managed to leap up and, upon landing, even kicked two soldiers flying sideways.

However, as soon as he landed, he was surrounded by a dozen soldiers, with over ten Holy Guns aid at him.

Yet behind him, from the breach of the car fort, three other Red Feather Arrow Knights charged in one after another.

The civilians cried and crawled under the carriage, so even jumped into the murky river water.

The sound of gunfire beca noticeably chaotic, accompanied by Bether's furious roar echoing through the sky: "Aim at those knights! Aim at them! The ones with the red feather arrows at their waists."

The crackling sound of gunfire erupted, and bullets danced overhead.

Having been kicked by the warhorse, a dizzy Old Laver picked up a lance-axe once more.

He saw that, apart from a re seven or eight knights continuing to battle at the breach, the rest of the knights were turning around once again.

But this ti, they wouldn't go far and would definitely charge again.

The breach was already open; there was no reason to retreat anymore.

Horse hooves trampled into the mud, and Old Laver staggered to his feet, only to be swept along by other soldiers charging towards the knights.

Within the scope of his vision, everything was in a state of lee, and many attendant knights were even close to the outer periter of the car fort, constantly firing arrows.

In the rain, the sound of the gears turning on the cannon was so loud, it almost beca the only sound heard by all soldiers.

To block those Red Feather Arrow Imperial Knights, Bether even rode his horse personally, wielding a knight's lance, engaging in close combat with the imperial knights.

Kaler, on the other hand, stumbled through the chaos to the side of the Griffin Cannon.

At the mont he touched the Griffin Cannon, he heard a clear "click."

Having been trained in "Concise chanics," Kaler knew that was the sound of the spring warehouse engaging.

Yet he waited a few seconds and didn't hear the expected "Praise the Holy Wind."

Raising his head, Kaler was just about to ask why it wasn't firing, when he saw the gunner suddenly collapse forward.

Supporting the gunner's shoulder, Kaler exclaid, "Not good!"

A blood-stained red feather arrow was embedded in the gunner's forehead, and his eyes lost all their luster.

Seeing the rampant Red Feather Arrow Knights, Kaler gritted his teeth and simply darted behind the Griffin Cannon.

Using a dagger to wedge between the elevation gear and screw, he raised the muzzle just enough to escape visual detection.

Kaler searched everywhere but couldn't find an iron rod, so he simply did the work of two people himself, drawing his military knife and inserting it into the bolt hole.

"Get down!" Kaler's raspy voice saved many lives at this mont.

"Boom!"

At the mont the cannonball was fired, Kaler tried his best to leap aside.

Yet the imnse recoil still grazed his chest and abdon, flinging him out like a rag doll.

After rolling several tis in the mud, Kaler curled up in pain.

A depression deep into flesh and bone appeared at the ribs and flank of his chest armor.

Years of knight training allowed Kaler to feel, without touching, that at least three ribs were broken.

But this was not in vain.

The two Imperial Knights charging into the car fort were only three to five ters away from the Griffin Cannon firing shrapnel.

In almost an instant, the nearest two Red Knights were transford into a storm of steel and flesh, their blood, with iron fragnts and white bones, splattering everywhere.

Though only two Red Feather Arrow Knights were killed, the blow to the morale of the remaining knights was significant.

Amid this shock, Bether was the first to recover.

With a furious roar, he discarded his knight's lance, lunged at one knight, dragging him down from his horse.

The two wrestled on the ground for several rounds before Bether stood up, with a steel dagger planted in the knight's armpit.

After the cannon fired, the situation began to tilt once again towards the Thousand River Valley's favor.

Facing these soldiers, bloodied and ferocious, many knights of the Shattered Stone Plain fell into deep confusion.

In most instances, breaking into the car formation basically ant "breaching the city"; the opponent was supposed to surrender.

But these strange black-clad soldiers actually tried to engage them in close combat after "breaking the formation"!

Moreover, amidst the battle, they were inexplicably pushed out of the car formation, as the breach seed about to be sealed.

The sound of horns blared once more, but this ti it wasn't urging them to attack, but rather calling for their retreat.

"Retreat! Retreat!"
