When the Side Character Gets a System and Travels through Difference Worlds Chapter 275: Tang Li 3
Fang Xiang, also known as Sixth Brother, let out a cold snort. "Let’s talk again once I have the money. I’m hanging up now."
He still had to write a proposal. As a professional con artist, how would he know how to write sothing like that?
From her office, Tan You had a clear view of Fang Xiang’s every move. She tapped on her desk. "He’s contacting Li Wanjun, isn’t he? Who is this Fang Xiang, really?"
The Beauty System did a little hop, and Fang Xiang’s detailed profile promptly appeared before Tan You.
"So that’s his real na? He’s certainly bold." Tan You narrowed her eyes. "Let’s not worry about him for now. Scamrs like him rarely work alone; they’re usually part of a crew."
"It’s the classic playbook for swindlers. He’s probably what they call a ’swallow’—the kind that uses seduction."
"If he wants to scam , this is the only angle he can really try."
"We’ll leave him be for now. You have to catch a thief red-handed."
"The black market really does have everything."
The Beauty System tapped its little front claws together. It said nothing; its host would figure it out anyway.
At 9:30, Tan You organized a short eting for her departnt. She had always been swift and decisive, laying out the entire day’s work plan in under ten minutes.
After the eting, she grabbed her laptop and headed into the big boss’s office. She had accepted this task, and the original person wanted to continue working at the company, so Tan You was committed to doing an excellent job.
The big boss was only thirty-five or thirty-six, in the pri of his life. After Tan You presented her proposal in detail, he was generous with his praise.
"I knew you were full of creative ideas, Li Zi. I’ll call a eting right away. You have ten minutes to get ready, and then you can win everyone over."
Tan You’s lips curved into a slight smile. "No problem."
What kind of situation hadn’t she seen? Explaining her creative concept to a few colleagues was, for Tan You, a walk in the park.
To be honest, creative directors were highly sought-after in film and television companies. After all, if a director based a project proposal on a specific actor, wasn’t that a tailor-made role?
「Ten minutes later.」
In the main conference room, Tan You stood before the projector screen. "My concept is as follows. People are increasingly interested in non-material cultural heritage, and they want to see more of the wider world without having to leave their hos..."
"We can combine folklore with non-material cultural heritage... From what I understand, so of these heritage arts are on the verge of being lost forever. If we create a show like this, we’ll be true pioneers in the industry."
"As for our celebrity guests..." Tan You clicked to the next slide. "I think Ning Yao is a great fit. She has an excellent public image, a refined temperant, and she’s a graduate from a top university, so she has the cultural depth for it."
"I’ve also created a basic template for the other guest requirents. You can all use this as a guideline for selecting other celebrities."
Tan You only put forward Ning Yao’s na. She didn’t ddle with the other choices. After all, if she picked all the guests herself, the departnt heads would be displeased. Who didn’t have a few favored celebrities they were close to?
Tan You had gauged the situation perfectly, so none of the departnt heads were upset. Now, everyone was busy debating who to choose.
Tan You and her big boss watched them debate. When it beca clear they weren’t getting anywhere, President Wang cleared his throat. "Alright, let’s put the guest selection aside for a mont. First, let’s have a show of hands for Director Tang’s proposal."
"If it passes with a majority vote, the company will greenlight the project imdiately."
The words had barely left his mouth when nearly everyone in the room raised their hands. Good proposals were hard to co by, and no one was foolish enough to sabotage things at this stage.
Only when a project was greenlit could they find ways to secure their own interests.
Seeing the unanimous vote, President Wang shot Tan You a look with a raised eyebrow. "In that case, Director Tang will be in charge of this project..."
"Alright. I have just one condition," Tan You said, her gaze sweeping across the room. "I don’t go out of my way to target anyone, but if any of you heads or directors want to recomnd a celebrity, I will consider them on a case-by-case basis."
She added with a smile, "My sources are pretty reliable. I will absolutely not approve any celebrity with a scandal to their na."
"Of course, of course."
"Don’t you worry, Director Tang. We’ll only recomnd outstanding talent."
Tan You’s lips curved into a slight smile. ’There’s so much you don’t know. So people look noble and pure, but behind the scenes, they’re a ss. Do you think I’d let soone like that ruin my show?’
Coming out of the conference room, Tan You hadn’t taken two steps before she was surrounded by the various directors and departnt heads.
"Director Tang, let’s have a little eting..."
「In a smaller eting room.」
"This one’s a no-go. She has two illegitimate children."
"This one’s no good either. She was knowingly the other woman."
"This one’s even worse. A regular at all sorts of... gatherings."
After she shot down several of the directors’ suggestions in a row, the way everyone in the small eting room looked at her changed. The crucial part was that she wasn’t just making things up; she could produce irrefutable proof for every claim.
"Director Tang, I never realized your sources were so extensive," the Head of Public Relations said with a smirk. "It’s a sha you’re a creative director. You should be working in PR."
Tan You just smiled. "I’m not trying to give you all a hard ti. If the celebrity’s dirty laundry gets aired out later, we’re the ones who will pay the price. We’ll have worked so hard on this; we can’t let it all go down the drain because of them."
"As for PR, forget it. I’m not very good at dealing with people."
One director wiped his face in exasperation. "Then you tell us, who *doesn’t* have any dirt on them? In this day and age, is there any celebrity who doesn’t have so kind of scandal?"
Tan You thought for a mont, then typed sothing on her laptop. A mont later, a list appeared on the screen in front of them. At the very top was none other than the highly respected veteran actor, Mr. You Li.
The rest of the list was filled with evergreen figures of the industry, all of whom had stellar reputations.
"Director Tang, you really aim high," one director said, giving Tan You a thumbs-up. "Everyone on this list has a completely packed schedule. You think they’d have ti for our show?"
But Tan You was confident. "Our show only needs three celebrity guests. Ning Yao is one of our own company’s talents, so I assu there are no issues there, right? As for the other two, if no one has any objections to the nas on this list, I will personally go and persuade them."
"Besides, there are so many potential non-material heritage projects we could feature; we could easily film several seasons. That being the case, we have to be extrely careful with our guest selection."
"That makes sense, in theory," the Head of Public Relations said, his curiosity piqued. "But how do you plan to convince them?"
Tan You narrowed her eyes slightly. "There’s always a way."
"We have no objections," the director of talent managent was the first to speak. "As long as Director Tang can get any two people from that list, I’m on board."
"I don’t object either."
"Sa here."
Tan You’s lips curved. "Alright. I’ll take responsibility for securing the guests. I guarantee I won’t co up empty-handed. As for assembling the rest of the team..."
"Don’t worry, we’ll handle the rest. You don’t need to worry about it, Director Tang."
