Damn it, these three words of rebuke could only be kept in Lin Mubai’s heart.
From the bottom of his heart, he still thought this little guy was sowhat annoying. He hadn’t even managed to win over the child’s mom, and the kid was already cursing their breakup. Yet due to the other’s identity, he couldn’t afford to offend him, so he had to bottle up the lancholy inside, accumulating more and more.
Young Master Lin had always indulged in doing as he pleased, never experiencing such frustration as today, unable to teach a lesson or retort.
"Ugh!" He sighed softly, quietly resigning himself in his heart.
He could even imagine his future with many such frustration-filled days to co. Even so, he was still willing.
All the way to downtown, it was An Jiayou who instructed the driver on where to go, and Lin Mubai happily embraced this rare leisure.
Once An Jiayou had finished instructing the driver on where to go, Lin Mubai finally asked him again: "Are you familiar with Paris?"
The other’s eyes slowly grew darker, an expression of ponderous thought erged on his face as if reminded of sothing. Then Lin Mubai heard a voice from him that was both distant and indifferent, yet childlike: "Before I turned eight, I never went to school. I would always follow An Nan wherever he went, so naturally, we would co to Paris countless tis a year."
The other spoke lightly, but Lin Mubai felt a deep pain, wanting to comfort him with words, yet unsure of what to say.
"I..."
"Enough." With a casual wave of the hand, An Jiayou continued speaking: "Don’t feel sorry for . I think those days were great. At least I was with An Nan all the ti, and that period of life taught many things. I never felt pity for myself. Instead, I am grateful for having that kind of life."
"You’re amazing." This was Lin Mubai’s sincere opinion.
Reflecting on his own life before turning ten, he felt a stark contrast with this boy beside him.
"Thank you." An Jiayou remained calm in response to Lin Mubai’s complint, showing less excitent than a typical child might.
At this mont, the driver’s voice ca from the front: "Ladies and gentlen, we’ve arrived at the destination."
"Thank you." Lin Mubai paid for the fare, and the two of them, one big and one small, stepped out of the taxi one after the other.
After getting out of the car, An Jiayou led the way, with Lin Mubai following behind. They walked into a coffee shop and sat opposite each other: "I’m a kid and can’t drink coffee. Just a waterlon juice for and a chocolate mousse."
"Alright, I’ll have a cappuccino."
"Okay, gentlen, please wait a mont." Shortly thereafter, the waiter returned with their orders: "Enjoy."
Once the waiter left, An Nan began eating the cake, occasionally sipping juice.
Lin Mubai quietly watched him from across the table. At this mont, he noticed sothing subtle: the elegance in this boy’s every gesture, as if ticulously trained. He had sensed this sa feeling in the little woman before.
Unconsciously, Lin Mubai began pondering in his heart, but he quickly dismissed these doubts. Quietly, he told himself that no matter who An Nan was, she was just the woman he adored, irrespective of her status or background.
