Along the way, Lin Mubai never hung up the phone, and his speed kept accelerating, with his heart already in his throat.
He contemplated countless possibilities in his heart, yet couldn’t think of one that could convince himself.
When the car reached the destination, Lin Mubai didn’t even bother to lock the car door and rushed straight into the rainy night.
"Nannan, Nannan, where are you?"
His shout attracted the attention of the few people in the dark night, and then everyone saw a handso man full of anxiety in the rainy night.
Their footsteps seed rooted to the ground, wanting only to see clearly who the person making such a man so anxious was. Was it a man or a woman? What did they look like?
Among these people, one was the center of everyone’s attention.
An Nan actually heard him calling her na the very first ti. Yet, in the split second of turning around, she was stunned by his anxious appearance. By the ti she regained her composure, she found many unfamiliar figures surrounding her, hesitating whether she should proactively approach him or let him discover her.
But one thing she was certain of was that seeing him cald down her inner anxiety instantly.
The next mont, she was held in a familiar embrace tightly, while the man’s uncontrolled murmurs sounded in her ear, "It’s good you’re okay, it’s good you’re okay."
For the first ti, An Nan didn’t shyly push this man away; instead, she stretched her arms to embrace the man’s strong waist, resting her head into his embrace, just wanting a bit of warmth — sothing she urgently needed now.
Lin Mubai noticed the anomaly of the person in his arms imdiately. He said nothing, simply holding her tightly until she gradually cald down. Then he considered that it wasn’t suitable to maintain this posture in the rain for too long, so he led her towards his car.
Behind them were countless bewildered gazes. Afterward, the crowd dispersed again, and the rain-soaked street resud the tranquility it ought to have.
In the car, Lin Mubai swiftly turned on the heater and began searching for a towel everywhere in the car. When he found the towel, he didn’t start wiping himself first; instead, he anxiously wiped the rain off the little woman’s face and body.
He couldn’t help but scold, "How can you be so silly, not knowing to shelter from the rain? What if you catch a cold..."
His complaint hadn’t finished when he saw the little woman under the towel had already fallen asleep, accompanied by the soft sound of breathing, making his heart soften instantly.
Just like that, he forgot the movent of his hands, staring unblinkingly at the little woman in front of him. Not knowing how much ti had passed, as the sound of rain outside the car window grew louder, he started to worry again. Where should he go now?
Returning to the current residence, the thought of a rival lurking covetously made him quickly dismiss this idea. Returning to this little woman’s forr apartnt, the rain was too heavy, making it inconvenient to go back. Besides, her clothes were all wet, and she needed to change quickly. Ultimately, Lin Mubai took the risk and brought An Nan to a place, and additionally felt that the matter should be disclosed to her.
He was very clear in his heart that so things worsen the longer they are concealed.
