Seeing the curiosity on his wife’s face, Lin Mubai smiled slightly and explained nonchalantly, "I had soone buy these from a supermarket near the company while you were napping this afternoon. Recently, neither of us have visited; we couldn’t co empty-handed."
Even though he said so, An Nan was deeply touched because there was no need for him to do this; it was all because of her. An Nan understood this, and perhaps because she knew so deeply, she was moved in this way. She didn’t know how to express the feeling in her heart—simply put, this man had done so much for her, so much that she couldn’t describe it with words.
To say thank you seed too distant since they were husband and wife.
And Lin Mubai didn’t need thanks from his own wife; this was just right.
His broad hand continued to rest in her soft hair, and in the darkness, his black eyes shone with affectionate light. "Wife, let’s hurry up and go in. It’s a bit cold, and you don’t want to catch a cold." A cold is quite troubleso for a pregnant woman; being pregnant is already hard enough, and Lin Mubai certainly didn’t want his wife to suffer even more.
An Nan nodded in agreent to his words. "Mm, let’s go."
Liang Guang and his wife didn’t expect these two to visit so late and were curious about who would knock on the door at such an hour. When they saw the figures standing outside, joy lit up their faces without any attempt to hide it.
"Uncle Liang, Aunt Fu, good evening."
"Uncle Liang, Aunt Fu, hello," Lin Mubai’s voice followed closely.
Fu Runzhi quickly pulled them inside, his voice and eyes full of disapproval. "Mu Bai, why did you bring Nannan out so late? She’s not alone anymore. What if sothing happens?"
Before Lin Mubai could begin to explain, An Nan’s voice already reached everyone’s ears, "I was the one who wanted him to bring here. Aunt Fu, don’t bla my husband. I just missed you both." As she spoke, her voice was full of grievance.
Fu Runzhi glanced at her, his eyes full of helplessness. "You’re about to beco a mom, and you’re still acting so childish. What are we going to do with you?"
An Nan imdiately looked at her husband proudly and said loudly, "Don’t worry, Aunt Fu. My husband said he can take care of both the big and small babies."
Suddenly, the room filled with hearty laughter.
Lin Mubai and An Nan didn’t linger long at the apartnt and prepared to return to the Lin Family Mansion. As they were leaving, Liang Guang recalled sothing, and his smile gradually faded. "Nannan, the past couple of days, the workn over at the mansion called , saying people keep coming to make a scene."
An Nan’s smile vanished from her lips instantly. "What? Why didn’t you tell sooner? Is anyone hurt?"
Liang Guang shook his head repeatedly. "No, the workers didn’t dare open the door. Those people just caused a ruckus outside and left. I suspect it was Xi Xilan’s doing."
Upon hearing this, An Nan nodded. "Alright, I understand. I’ll handle this. You all just stay here, and if strangers co knocking, don’t open the door, okay?"
The couple nodded imdiately, also reminding them, "You, too, Nannan. You’re not alone now. You must be careful with everything. We’ve known An Ruiyang and Xi Xilan for many years; they’re the type who will stop at nothing."
