In the morning, Lin Mubai woke up in Xi Shaoqi’s apartnt and was about to go ho when Han Xiayang called saying there was sothing at the company that required his attention. Lin Mubai changed his plans and spent the whole day dealing with business, leaving the company at 5 PM.
As soon as he left the company, he rushed back and quietly opened the door, only to see An Nan sitting on the sofa in the living room, lost in thought, unaware of his entry.
For so reason, his heart ached.
After changing into slippers, he walked over to the sofa, slightly lowered his head, and gently called, "Nannan."
An Nan looked up at the sound, her face full of confusion. When her eyes clearly saw the person in front of her, the confusion turned to anger, and her voice was equally icy, "You think my place is a hotel, don’t you? Coming and going as you please."
Lin Mubai was baffled by the scolding, "I told you yesterday when I left that I wouldn’t be back at night."
Glancing at him with clear disbelief in his reason, "Why didn’t you co back? I haven’t even eaten yet."
This was the real issue, wasn’t it?
Lin Mubai chuckled knowingly, imdiately took off his coat and walked toward the kitchen, saying as he went, "Just wait for half an hour."
An Nan didn’t say anything now, just stood up and followed him into the kitchen.
Leaning against the kitchen doorway and watching the busy man inside, she continued, "Lin Mubai, I’m telling you, since you’re staying here, you have to follow our previous agreent. When I’m ho, you must cook for ."
After having just a few als cooked by this man, she’s already not used to outside food. She wasn’t sure if it’s because his cooking is too good or the outside food is too bad. Either way, her taste has been spoiled.
Cooking for the woman he loves, who enjoys his food, is the greatest sense of achievent. Even Lin Mubai’s hands moved more joyfully than usual.
Returning ho today, he could feel sothing different about this little woman’s attitude towards him. Maybe she herself hadn’t even noticed, but he wasn’t going to point it out. It was a good sign, after all.
He couldn’t help but think of Han Xiayang’s complaint to him today, "Young Master Lin, you can’t neglect the company for the sake of pursuing your wife. If you keep this up, by the ti you win her over, the company will be gone. How do you plan to support her then?"
"I’m at ease with you handling the company," Lin Mubai said plainly.
"Lin Mubai, you bastard." Han Xiayang felt having t such a cunning man was the unluckiest thing in his life.
Okay, he admitted he might be forsaking friendships for love, but he just liked her. She was like a poisonous poppy, once you get involved, you can’t bear to let go, wanting nothing more than to bind her by your side for a lifeti, whether in happiness or not, they had to be together.
An Nan was currently oblivious to what the man, with his back to her, was thinking. If she knew, she certainly wouldn’t remain standing there; she would have long run off without a trace.
Occasionally, she would think of that 419 Incident. For her, having grown up abroad, it was still a bit difficult to accept, but her nature was such that she believed in facing things head-on; avoiding them wouldn’t solve problems.
