For the first ti, An Jiayou spoke so patiently to soone, chattering on about all his past experiences. Of course, most of what he talked about were interesting things, and as for those sad past events, he chose to hide them without hesitation. This little guy was all about sharing the good news and not the bad.
Lin Mubai tried several tis to talk to his wife, but she always directly ignored him, to the point that Lin Mubai was thoroughly discouraged in the end.
Liang Guang observed his reactions and finally, with the perspective of soone who’s been there, gently patted him on the shoulder and said, "Mu Bai, don’t get upset; you have to understand that won are like this. They’re the most incomprehensible creatures under Heaven, and when they’re angry, the best thing you can do is let them figure it out on their own. Otherwise, you’ll worry yourself to death, and they’ll still ignore you."
These words spoke right to Lin Mubai’s heart: "I understand, Uncle Liang. It’s getting late, you should go to sleep."
"Alright, I’ll drag Aunt Fu away, or else tonight could be endless."
Monts later, the living room was quiet. An Jiayou tily stood up and went to the guest bedroom, leaving the living room space to An Nan and Lin Mubai.
When only the two of them were left in the living room, An Nan silently sat down on the sofa, yawning, and the next mont, without waiting for the other to speak, she said directly, "First, I am angry right now and don’t want to hear you talk; second, I’ll sleep with Jiayou tonight, and you are not allowed to object."
Leaving these words, An Nan stood up and headed to the guest bedroom. This ti, Lin Mubai didn’t follow, because he thought that Uncle Liang was right; when a woman is angry, you definitely shouldn’t provoke her. So, he decided not to provoke, choosing another thod instead.
Lin Mubai’s thod was simple: ’Appealing through emotion’. In simpler terms, it ans seeking sympathy, and in even plainer language, it’s a pity strategy.
Since that duo, big and small, weren’t going ho tonight, going back by himself seed pointless. Lin Mubai also decided not to go back. He couldn’t get into the guest bedroom, so the only remaining option was to sleep on the sofa.
Lin Mubai was a big guy, and it was extrely uncomfortable for him to sleep on the narrow sofa. But to stir up guilt in that woman’s heart inside the room, he had to endure it.
What bugged him even more was the nerve of that brat to sleep in the sa room as his wife, which made him grind his teeth in anger just thinking about it. On any other day, he’d have already dragged the kid out, but today was different.
Lying on the sofa, the more Lin Mubai thought, the more frustrated he beca.
In the guest bedroom, An Jiayou sneaked a peek outside, then stood by the bedside, hesitant to speak.
The person on the bed, originally with eyes shut tight, suddenly spoke up: "If you have sothing to say, just say it."
"Um." An Jiayou thought for a mont and decided to tell the person before him what he had just seen: "Well, Dad is sleeping on the sofa outside. Without even a blanket, won’t he catch a cold?"
Having said this, An Jiayou stood by, cautiously waiting for the other’s instructions. If nothing unexpected happened, he should be asked to take out a blanket.
Sure enough, the other’s words confird his thoughts: "You decide what to do, I’m going to sleep, I’m tired."
In the next mont, An Jiayou took a blanket from the room, glanced at the person on the bed, shook his head helplessly, and then left the room.
After he left, the person on the bed lifted an eyelid slightly, then continued to close their eyes.
