When saying this sentence, Lin Mubai felt an imnse regret in his heart. How could he have forgotten that even though her intelligence was above average, she was still a woman. A woman’s life should have tis to be pursued, which could be the simplest happy monts of their lives. In the days that follow, they might still be happy, but because of family or children, that happiness can’t be as pure.
And his mistake was not letting her fully enjoy even those simplest happy monts.
So what is pure happiness? It’s not about living in a great house, eating fine food, or having lots of money. In his view, for his An Nan, it was just about him taking so ti off work to accompany her to shop in the popular stores, or learning from typical husbands or boyfriends to buy her a cup of milk tea.
Understanding her wishes were so simple made Lin Mubai feel a deep ache for her.
Thinking about this, he spoke again to make a promise: "Wife, after our daughter is born, I’ll surely help you queue for milk tea."
"Okay."
What could be better? Having such a man wholeheartedly devoted to her, surely everything would be good.

After arranging for soone to take his wife to their room, Lin Mubai returned to the living room and saw his own mother looking at the things he bought.
"Mom, what are you looking at?"
Without turning her head, she replied: "Just looking at what you two bought, it’s quite interesting."
