When he looked up, he saw the two snake-n reaching the strange brass horn and working together to pull the lever chanism beside it.

Upon seeing the lever chanism, Fingerley imdiately felt an ominous premonition.

Facts have proven that in the Sain Dungeon, one must be wary of anything associated with the word "chanism," especially when the control of that chanism lies in the hands of monsters.

"Buzz————"

A sharp buzzing sound suddenly emanated from the brass horn, causing Fingerley to clutch his ears with a deep frown.

This buzzing was rely the sound of the brass horn starting up. At that mont, the horns on the top and bottom levels simultaneously emitted a strange lody.

When he heard this lody, Fingerley’s expression turned grim.

He couldn’t describe what kind of sound it was, like the murmuring mixed with wailing of many chaotic souls, as if it contained countless noises that made people uncomfortable. Just hearing it made him think of irritating sounds like nails scraping on wood or a magic drill piercing a wall.

This dreadful music was a torture to endure for even a second more!

"What kind of divine man could create such disgusting things!"

This already can’t be considered re music—it is more than adequate to be called a sonic weapon. Fingerley felt sick to his stomach.

This thing must be shut off!

Even though a large section of the staircase had collapsed, he could climb along the wall-mounted bookshelves to get across, for adventurers are all definitely master-level climbers.

"Whoosh!"

A swift piercing sound ca from behind, and Fingerley quickly ducked and bent over to dodge. He saw a crystal arrow shoot overhead, and had he not ducked, his head would have been blown off.

Turning back toward the direction from which the arrow was shot, he saw snake-n holding various weapons appear on the lower stairs, having already set their sights on him.

Although the enemies ca aggressively one after another, Fingerley was unafraid.

He quickly advanced, relying on his agile form to snatch the greatsword from a snake-man, and swung to sever its slender legs, not killing the opposite but ensuring it lost mobility. He then swiftly raised the greatsword to deflect several more incoming arrows, promptly charging at the nearest sword-wielding snake-man, using its thick body as a shield against the arrows.

Normally, he should prioritize taking down the archers, but the snake-n were aligned in a wall-like row before the archers, making it difficult to cross directly; he would solve them first.

Amidst the lee, Fingerley’s mind began working quickly.

Suppose Sain Dungeon didn’t anticipate adventurers could climb walls to reach higher grounds. In that case, going downward would be the "correct path," and my weapon might be hidden in so cell along this path.

With this thought, he decided to first head downward to find his equipnt, while shutting off the brass horn at the bottom.

Fighting Qi infused the curved blade greatsword, making it indestructible. As Fingerley swung around, he knocked all the lee-weaponed snake-n down, then charged at the archers with the tusk pig helt donned.

The snake-n archers promptly turned and fled. Just as Fingerley was about to chase them, he suddenly heard an even sharper blast emanating from the brass horn on both ends.

"Buzz————"

The magic sound made him grimace, clutch his ears, and shut his eyes, feeling like all his senses had been severely disrupted.

When he opened his eyes again, the world had suddenly shifted colors.

The otherwise normal world had suddenly beco black-and-white?

Not only did the world turn black and white so simply, but everything took on a layer of surreal haze, staring at which too long induced dizziness.

The buzz from the brass horn continued, seemingly without any intention to stop. Now, however, Fingerley had more pressing concerns than that—as the world transford to black and white, those "monsters" appeared.

Where the snake-n once were now stood grotesque monsters with serpent-like bodies and octopus-like tentacle heads. Each was as tall as two adults, appearing bizarre and imposing.

Scattered along the stairs, beams of light, like those from a flashlight, were projected from under their tentacle heads, moving with the sway of their heads.

These monsters crawled along the ground sluggishly, hardly faster than an old grandmother.

"These monsters seem like the type only seen in coastal countries."

Having mixed in the Sain Dungeon for so long, Fingerley had long grown desensitized to bizarre monsters. Yet, he cautiously approached the nearest one, aiming the still-existent blade at its head.

Intuition told him not to get caught in the light emitted from their heads, so he stealthily crept around to the monster’s backside.

"Swish!"

The tentacles at the back of the monster’s head suddenly expanded, and a bright flash illuminated Fingerley’s face.

"Damn, as if having eyes on the back of its head!"

The mont the light hit him, a severe sense of foreboding surged within him, and he imdiately swung the blade down.

The slash, infused with a portion of his fighting qi, successfully severed the monster’s head. Despite their imposing appearance, the monster’s body wasn’t as tough as a crystal living corpse.

Having just dispatched the monster ahead, he turned to look and only had ti to yell "Not good."

Because those forrly slow-moving monsters suddenly trembled feverishly, crazily squirming toward him at a speed faster than the rolling wheel skeletons from the giant tomb. The bizarre scene instantly aroused a desperate urge to flee.

The visual was akin to a massive swarm of giant maggots surging forward!

Fingerley had never seen such frenzied monsters before and imdiately thought fleeing was the best option.

"Owl!"

Just as the thought erged, he heard a monster’s howl nearby. Looking over, he saw a soul-sucking ghost!

Yet, unlike ordinary ones, this ghost was covered in azure crystals. The soulless-eyed ghost raised its weapon to charge at Fingerley, and also trailing along was a similarly crystallized Balder Knight!

"What is this, an old comrade reunion?!"

Clearly, he had just confird around him that the cell was empty before. How did these fellows appear?

Fingerley turned and fled, his speed surprisingly outmatched by the frenzied monsters!

Every ti he passed a cell, an familiar monster would leap forth, while the cells, previously empty, showed nothing.

His focus suddenly fixed on the brass horn.

That thing’s behind all the havoc!

If only he’d prevented the snake-n earlier!

He ran to the broken staircase, then leaped toward a dead end, grabbing the bookshelf mounted on the wall to climb to the upper stairs. Yet, he saw an archer aiming at him at this mont.

"Why is my luck so bad?"

As soon as those words left his mouth, tranquility abruptly returned to the world.

The brass horn ceased its buzzing and instead resud playing chaotic music, the world reverting to normal colors. Fingerley, bewildered, turned to look around and found both the tentacle monsters and soul-sucking ghosts gone, while the once-vanished snake-n reappeared.

".... What in the world is going on?"

It was then he suddenly felt an overwhelming weakness in his right hand, almost losing grip and falling from the height. Simultaneously, an excruciating pain radiated from within.

"Wait, what’s on my arm!"

After the buzzing ceased.

Scattered crystal clusters had erged from the skin on Fingerley’s right arm.
