There was not a hint of joy in his heart; just the first trap had killed him three or four tis. The danger ahead was likely even greater.
These traps might not be too difficult for Elsa, but for him with his decreased physical condition, it was probably... No, no, he had to try harder, he couldn’t drag everyone down.
Tami had just loudly inford Elsa of his discovery when a new trap appeared ahead.
It was three swinging knife blades!

With this new rule in mind, after two attempts, he managed to get through the blades. Looking back at Elsa, he saw her nimbly leap, tapping her toes a few tis on the blades to effortlessly jump through.
Envy, jealousy, and hatred all appeared on Tami’s face. If he hadn’t been weakened, he would dare to play it like that too!
After the swinging hamrs and knife blades, next were the floors that had fire, electricity, spikes, or were coated in oil.
Following that, large arrows from unknown sources and exploding jars thrown from nowhere appeared in succession.
Tami took nearly all the damage!
The path from the start to the Ancient City didn’t look far, but he felt it was like years in purgatory; his body and mind were ravaged to the point of not wanting to speak.
The traps on Elsa’s side were harder and more nurous, and her death count had already entered double digits. Her face no longer wore a smile.
Later on, they even encountered traps that could affect each other’s path.
For example, Tami accidentally slid over a slightly different colored floor tile, causing Elsa’s path to collapse entirely.
Or, Elsa didn’t set a lever correctly, resulting in tal spears appearing under Tami’s feet.
The brilliance of these designs lay in their seeming difficulty, but with careful thought, one could tily react and pass safely.
What, you can’t get past it? Then it’s definitely your own problem, pay more attention to your surroundings.
Elsa was already blushing red, while Tami thought in utter despair:
No wonder people grit their teeth with hatred at the ntion of Sain; it really could devise such mind-crushing challenges...
When he started his trial in Sain, many guides for various regions had been made, sparing him much suffering by following them, avoiding the hardships his predecessors endured.
All the classes he skipped back then were paying off now!
"We’re almost at the Ancient City, I really hope it’s safer inside..."
After enduring many hardships, they were finally close to entering the Ancient City’s interior buildings when familiar traps appeared before them—yet again swinging knife blades.
"These things can’t stump anymore." Tami said weakly, slowing his pace and timing his move to pass through the gaps in the blades.
Just then, he suddenly sensed crackling sounds ahead. The presence of lightning churned through the air.
Looking up, he saw strange creatures ahead, like snakes standing upright on four limbs.
A Snake-man stood in the middle of the blades, raising a shield towards him, while behind it, a Snake-man Mage was gathering a Thunder Spear!
A perfect combination: a warrior holding the front line, a mage hiding behind to attack, utilizing the terrain. Such a combination would surely earn Gapar’s praise.
Tami’s mouth twitched, and he let out a scream of ultimate despair:
"No!"
