"The Enemy Attraction Skull not only has an attraction effect on Monsters, but it can also attract a wider range of beasts, and even Beastn with a higher concentration of beast lineage can be attracted..."
"I think, honestly, a pot of fecal broth would be more effective for attracting Beastn, especially canine Beastn."
"Shopkeeper! It’s almost lunchti, could you please not talk about such distasteful things!"
Bed City, Madar Magic Tool Store.
Luluwo pretended to gag, letting out an "ugh" sound.
Madar, or rather Gong Qiying, casually tossed over a paper bag as if to say "go ahead."
Luluwo pouted and said irritably, "At least show a little class in front of a lady, won’t you?"
If I wanted to, I could conjure up a city full of girls even prettier than those in Bed City, guaranteed to outclass elves and kick Enchanting Demons. With a smile on his face, Gong Qiying thought to himself, possibly provoking the little bat inside him.
Luluwo took the paper bag and stuffed it into her overly dramatic black cloak—which was considered stylish in the otherworld—while also pulling out a long list and slapped it onto the counter.
"As usual, I want the goods on this list, and high quality too. By the way, Shopkeeper, you haven’t been around much lately. Have you decided not to earn money from the shop anymore?"
"Don’t worry, even if I lay around doing nothing all my life, I won’t starve."
"Lay around? That’s a peculiar term..."
Luluwo leaned on the counter and watched Gong Qiying’s back as he turned to the storeroom to sort out the supplies, and she couldn’t help but start reminiscing.
Back then, she was hit hard by successive difficulties from Sain Dungeon and reality, falling into depression after being roared at by a Lion Ape, experiencing a particularly tough ti.
Later, Leon brought so Horror Dispelling Powder and the philosophical-sounding advice "The shortest shortcut is to take the detour" from a certain magic store to encourage her, helping her recover and continue to explore the dungeon with her Skyrim Strategy Group, achieving fa and success.
Luluwo also learned about the Madar Magic Tool Store from Leon, as both the Horror Dispelling Powder and the "take the detour" advice ca from there.
Afterwards, she discovered that this shop sold tools from the dungeon, with quality consistently above average, and occasionally offering rare items for sale—even items from Sain Dungeon varied in quality, even Green Flower Grass had different effects depending on its size.
Plus, the shopkeeper had a pleasant way of talking, making Luluwo’s good impression of the shop rise even further.
Upon learning that Leon would frequently co here to chat with Gong Qiying, Luluwo would occasionally co by to pass the ti as well, though outwardly using the excuse of purchasing supplies.
She lay on the counter like a lting sli, with sunlight streaming through the window, feeling so warm she didn’t want to move.
The goods looked plentiful, but it’s unclear what background Madar’s shopkeeper has, or which teams he’s sourcing from?
Although Luluwo sotis had such questions, she wouldn’t deliberately investigate as long as Gong Qiying didn’t say, and this attitude was shared by Leon and others too, as it was a sign of respect.
With a mysteriously likeable and supposedly powerful figure running a shop to pass the ti, why not establish a good relationship with him?
What’s the point of painstakingly investigating soone’s background, knowing wouldn’t make any difference, and it might even anger them—everyone tacitly agrees not to discuss these things.
However, besides the rare items possibly available, Luluwo had no particular needs from the shop; she rely found Gong Qiying’s conversation interesting, sotis visiting just to chat.
This shop often closed for several days, and with short opening hours, there weren’t many actual custors. The ones who did co, like Luluwo, were regulars, giving it a vibe of being a secret base for everyone.
"By the way, Shopkeeper, do you have any tips for building good relationships with teammates?" Luluwo asked casually, "Recently, we’ve recruited a ton of newcors, and it feels like sothing’s missing between everyone."
"That depends on what your team spirit is," Gong Qiying’s voice drifted from the storeroom, sowhat ethereal.
"Team spirit? You an the soul of the team? Everyone wants to make a na for themselves, or for money."
"Then your team spirit is a bit weak. Either spread so money around or organize more team-building activities. Ahem, I an plan more group activities."
As he spoke, Gong Qiying had already packed the goods Luluwo wanted and said:
"Here, the finest quality Enemy Attraction Skull, guaranteed to stop Monsters in their tracks."
Luluwo glanced at it and almost couldn’t take her eyes off, instantly knowing that this was a quality rarely found while exploring the dungeon.
"Oh, the astronor said there’s going to be a once-in-a-century teor shower in a few days, maybe take your new recruits to watch it," Gong Qiying suggested.
"teor shower, huh..."
Luluwo couldn’t rember the last ti she saw a teor.
"Thanks, Shopkeeper. I’ll take everyone to see the teor shower then."
Not only to see the teor shower but also to have a picnic, programs, or sothing like that. And definitely can’t do without so alcohol, stirring up the atmosphere to get everyone happy and familiar with each other.
On the way back to the temporary base of the Skyrim Strategy Group in Royal City, carrying a big load, Luluwo was pondering how best to acclimate everyone quickly.
Completely oblivious to the two sneaky individuals following her.
"Did you hear? They’re going out of the city soon to watch the teor shower."
"This is a golden opportunity. Quick, report back to the Captain."
"Yeah, I thought it would take months of tracking to find a chance, didn’t expect it to co so soon."
The two discussed for a while and slipped into Sain Dungeon’s Teleportation Gate.
Not long after, news of the "once-in-a-lifeti" teor shower began to spread among the masses, eventually turning into a massive event for viewing the teor shower. On the night the teor shower was set to arrive, a large crowd of stargazers took their positions in the outskirts.
Coincidentally, today happened to coincide with a holiday, so there were an extrely large number of people with free ti.
"Oh dear, why are there so many people, it’s too noisy." Luluwo looked disgusted, as she finally changed out of her combination of cloak and rubber suit into a bright and loose long dress, looking well dressed, clearly valuing tonight’s "team building" of the Skyrim Strategy Group.
"Let’s go back to Bed City then, Captain," Berto also changed into casual clothes and said, "Because of the Sain Dungeon, people from Bed City have all flocked to the Royal City during the holiday. Bed City is now empty, it must be great to watch stars there."
"It’s such a waste since I even ordered delivery from the tavern... let’s head back to Bed then, I know there’s a nice cliff outside the city."
So Luluwo led the old mbers of the Skyrim Strategy Group like Berto, and several new mbers including Tami, back to Bed City through Sain.
Just as Berto had said, Bed City was rare quiet today; it seed that everyone had a heart longing for the big city.
The only ones left in Bed City were those who hadn’t unlocked the teleportation between Bed and the Royal City. The number wasn’t small, but they couldn’t compare with the previous bustling excitent.
Luluwo believed they could certainly find an undisturbed perfect viewing spot tonight.
Nightti, on the cliff outside Bed City, far away from the hustle and bustle.
"Awooo—"
It seed like a wolf howl ca from afar, but it couldn’t scare the Skyrim Strategy Group building tents and other things on the cliff.
There aren’t many monsters outside Bed City, at most so wild beasts, and Tami can twist their necks with his bare hands.
Plus, today is a team-building day, none of them brought the weapons they usually use. At most they carried small daggers that wouldn’t affect their appearance.
Above the night sky, stars dotted, the light of the stars shining brighter than ever. Even if the teor shower didn’t show up, this view was enough.
"Cheers!"
The shout and the clinking of glasses from the Skyrim Strategy Group broke the tranquility of the cliff. With a big gulp of liquor down, even the quietest person turned a bit cheerful, everyone chattered, and the atmosphere was quite good for the mont.
"Cough cough, on this important day, let , the captain, say a few words."
"Clap clap clap!" Tami was the first to start clapping, Berto glanced at him with surprise, then quickly clapped as well, not willing to be outdone.
Is this newbie too eager to make progress?
"So... then... therefore..."
At first, everyone listened attentively to Luluwo’s speech, but surprisingly she went on and on, to the point of repeating herself back and forth. Yet she seed quite pleased, looking like she got addicted to talking.
But for the audience, it was only torture.
However, there was no choice, listening to the leader’s speech was an essential part of team-building, Luluwo seed to have mastered that without a teacher.
Tami and others gave Berto a pleading look, he coughed twice and gave Luluwo a hint with his eyes.
Sadly, she didn’t grasp his intention at all, instead said to Tami, "Tami, go find those party gas I packed, they’re next to the food packages."
"Okay!"
The so-called party gas were nothing more than cards, chess pieces, etc. Tami rembered he was responsible for moving these things, should be no mistake.
This thought had hardly co up when a mistake appeared.
"Ah?"
Tami froze when he opened the package because instead of party gas, it was packed full of Enemy Attraction Skulls!
Oh no, I picked the wrong package!
"Tami, are you done yet, hurry up and co for a toast."
"Oh, oh..."
He returned with a pained expression and raised his glass, thinking about how to apologize to Luluwo later.
"Well, for today’s gathering and future enterprises, let’s raise our glasses together, cheers!"
Finally, it was over.
People showed smiles of relief, genuinely clinking glasses in celebration, drinking rrily for their ears finally being freed.
"Captain, um..."
Tami walked up to Luluwo, composing words, but just then, along with the clinking sound, was the sound of sothing slicing through the air.
"Pfft—"
Blood blossod on Luluwo’s chest, her glass dropped to the ground, the smile that just erged froze on her face, she only managed to let out:
"Huh?"
An enchanted crossbow arrow pierced through her chest, the tip poking out from behind, the magic runes on it flashed madly.
"Captain!"
Everyone worriedly rushed over, but Luluwo used all her strength to kick the closest Tami away.
"Boom!"
The next second, the arrow inside her exploded.
