Neither human nor ghost?
Once Youlesa was completely gone, Gong Qiying finally replayed the video with a similarly subtle expression. Watching the survivors who had beco even more insane than nutcases, he found it extrely difficult to suppress his emotions.

So how did this twisted path to power erge? It sounds like they’ve taken Beast Balls. Blood Therapy won’t give people this capability, could it be due to so special physiology of the Reid people?
No matter what the reason might be, from the actual results on-site, this twisted path is indeed effective.
Even an elderly woman, who would be out of breath after running for a bit, could use her cane to fiercely stab Beastified citizens, leaving them nothing to counter with—those with better constitutions showed even more noticeable progress.
Gong Qiying watched as these people scread and hacked like Beastified citizens even more ferociously than the Beastified citizens themselves, then were forcibly tied one by one in front of the puppet by Fanen for upgrades. After the upgrade, they basically woke up and continued their hunt.
So, Fanen served as the last insurance in this process...
"There must be sothing wrong."
From the good citizens’ perspectives, the training path of these survivors absolutely seems unlike the righteous way—it could be easily believed if claid to be so cult’s hardcore approach.
But upon closer thought.
Fanen and their current situation, from their own perspective, perhaps were truly at the depths of Hell.
Insufficient clothing and food, the parasitic mutant species continued erging, the number of survivors was decreasing, the Kingdom’s reinforcents were uncertain, even the existence of the Kingdom remained unknown.
They were extrely lacking in security, having finally found the Dungeon as the only beacon of hope in Hell, naturally exerting all efforts to elevate themselves, boosting their survival chances in Hell, striving to reclaim the city.
Seeing it this way, their behavior seed entirely normal, even reasonable—they were incredibly rational to have restrained themselves to this extent.
Should I intervene?
Gong Qiying thought for a mont, but ultimately didn’t choose to interfere with the survivors’ behavior.
The path was for them to choose, and so far, it hadn’t shown any significant harm, so let it be.
At most, he would ask Gilbert to speak more about the dangers of over-indulging in hunting.
The at Mountain entering Sain Dungeon today is definitely not the last mutation; in future, more mutations would erge, and diminishing these powerful mutations by Sain would be the biggest help to the survivors.
