Because he just seed to see a parasite jump into Uffie’s mouth!
"Quick, spit it out!"
The girl in front of him obviously has never entered the Sain Dungeon to receive blood therapy and naturally couldn’t have developed resistance to parasites. If such a situation occurs with a bug entering the body...
He was so anxious that he almost reached in with his hand!
Unfortunately, his fist was too big to fit in, so he had to ask Isha, who wasn’t about to do sothing like reach into Uffie’s throat, and instead, she just shoved all the remaining salted fish flavored Healing Potions into her throat.
Normally, the stinging taste of salted fish and the pain of a potion bottle being forced into the throat would cause a reaction, yet despite all this fuss, Uffie still didn’t wake up, her body didn’t even twitch, just like a puppet with its personality drained.
This is really strange!
Fanen rembered hearing about a notorious alchemist in his childhood who tried to create a kind of Demon Beast that wouldn’t feel pain or beco sluggish under attack. It was called sothing like a Terrible-monster, and Uffie’s reaction now was like a humanoid Terrible-monster.
"Has everyone escaped to safety?"
Seeing no hope of waking Uffie, Fanen could only tuck her under his arm like a piece of cargo and turned to ask Isha.
Receiving her affirmative response, he took a deep breath, ready to muster all his strength to charge out of this Demon Cave museum.
"This guy is an exceptional expert, perhaps knowing the outside situation, I absolutely can’t let her beco a parasite’s puppet. I’m taking her to the Dungeon right now!"
At last, he encountered soone who seed to co from the outer world, and Fanen was determined to do everything to save her.
However, like an old saying, lucky breaks are rare, but misfortune tends to pile up.
The atballs burst open one by one, and the parasites that erged didn’t imdiately combine into a previous monster but instead attacked the two of them directly; the parasites poured down like rain.
Not only did the bugs launch an attack, but those mutants who were previously diligently transporting atballs into the tunnel had also surrounded the nearest exit to the two, effectively encircling them.
It was almost as if it was a preditated ambush!
"Hissss..."
Just as Fanen was swinging the Saw at Blade like a fan to fend off the parasites, a thick black shadow suddenly lashed out from the side. Although he blocked it in ti, he was still smashed away by the mighty force, enduring the pain as he got up and took a look.
Under the embrace of a bunch of bloody atballs, a parasite as tall as an adult, as fat as a beer barrel, was rising, with Isha confronting it with a Hunter’s Pistol and staff, and behind them was the still out-of-sorts Uffie.
Without a doubt, that parasite was a mutant type, but this was the first ti Fanen had seen a parasite eat itself to such an enormous size. Normally, even if a mutant type wanted to go the giant route, it would only enlarge the host.
The parasite struck everyone differently, its shiny eyes, like black beans, flickering with a greedy light, staring straight at Uffie.
A thin tentacle suddenly extended from its tail, and jabbed fiercely into the half-eaten remains of a survivor’s body, and the survivor’s upper body imdiately began to speak.
"Leave that woman, you two leave."
A talking parasite!?
Several monsters spawned from the combination of parasites, surrounding Fanen and Isha. The fat mutant spoke again, yet this ti, it seed more like it was voicing its inner monologue.
"Lucky, lucky. I wanted to flee, but this woman fainted herself, hehe, a divine-given body... Now I can defy the Insect King!"
It was answered by a rcury Bullet, directly severing the tentacle connecting it to the survivors’ remains.
In the next instant, Fanen turned and initiated a Slashing, not aiming to kill but rely to create an escape opportunity. So, he swung the Saw at Blade to knock away the nearest monster, diving towards Isha and Uffie!
According to the typical plot progression, this is when people would be surprised by the speaking parasite and then chat for half a day, maybe even revealing so grand conspiracy. But evidently, neither Fanen nor Isha are typical people; they don’t care about conspiracies, only that escaping is paramount!
Unfortunately, Fanen didn’t have ti to reach the two won before being intercepted by two quickly-reacting monsters, leading to another round of ferocious fighting, though he grew weaker, his montum increased.
The fat mutant recovered and let out an ear-piercing scream, instantly bursting more insects from their cocoons.
Fanen and Isha exchanged glances, launching attacks on the closest monsters in unison, shielding Uffie, and drawing near to each other, seemingly intending to combine forces to break through.
However, the parasites’ greatest forte was reproduction; their numbers were exceptionally vast. No matter how well Fanen and Isha could fight, they had only been training in the Dungeon for less than half a month, and before that, they were ordinary people. Ultimately, even though they reunited, each bore ghastly wounds.
The fat mutant chuckled ominously, attempting to deliver the final blow, but at this mont, the siblings suddenly laughed, simultaneously tossing sothing upwards, and Isha decisively fired a shot into the sky.
