"Gigaplant's effect—Special Summon 'World Carrotweight Champion' from the graveyard!"
The card, just sent to the graveyard monts ago, returned to his hand. He placed the monster card on the Duel Disk, and a pale blue summoning ripple projected its image onto the field.
This was a truly unique monster: true to its na, its body was almost entirely made of carrots—a long carrot head, sly eyes, arms and legs each just big carrots. It looked rather abstract.
[World Carrotweight Champion, ATK 1900]
Trueman scoffed,
"You think you can beat with a cartoon monster like that?"
"Don't underestimate the power of cartoons." Kira grinned. "I set two cards and end my turn."
"My turn. Draw," Trueman said.
Kira vaguely rembered the decks this dark henchman used in the ani, but knew Trueman didn't have a fixed deck—he changed tactics every appearance, so mory was of limited use.
Trueman drew his card and, with a sly smile, announced,
"I activate the Quick-Play Spell 'Card Destruction'—both players discard two cards from their hands, then draw two new cards."
Kira glanced at his hand, quickly picked two to discard, then drew two new cards. He barely glanced at them, keeping his attention on Trueman.
As soon as the cards went to the graveyard, a massive black shadow seed to flash behind Trueman, along with a deep, bestial growl—though it was impossible to tell what creature it ca from.
"Looks like you discarded so monster cards," Trueman adjusted his sunglasses.
"Maybe I did," Kira replied. "So what?"
Trueman let out a dry laugh, changing the subject.
"There are many unknown realms hidden in this world," he said. "Arrogant humans think they understand their world, but what they see is just a tiny leaf before their eyes.
There are countless places humans have never set foot. For example, on an island in the Indian Ocean—there exists a special island infused with mysterious power.
Deep in that primordial island lives a powerful lord. And now, that strength is in my hands. Let show you its true form today!"
He drew a monster card.
"When a monster is sent from the opponent's hand or deck to the graveyard, this card can be Special Summoned from the hand in face-down Defense Position!
The ruler of Skull Island, the rock gorilla—
—Primineral Kongreat, Summon!!"
With the monster's summon, the surroundings suddenly beca a dense, shadowy jungle. A rocky mountain within the jungle slowly rose, revealing itself not as a boulder but as a massive ape.
A mountain-sized simian, its body clad not in fur but in gleaming rock, as if armored in natural stone. The giant rocks and its body rged, clashing with each movent, sounding like ancient war drums.
[Primineral Kongreat, DEF 2000]
Kira's eyelid twitched.
Wait, Skull Island's big guy, did you wander into the wrong franchise?
This black, hulking gorilla did bear so resemblance to the stylish ape from Skull Island, but on closer look, they weren't quite the sa—the biggest difference being this gorilla's body looked entirely made of stone, like a black mountain.
But the giant ape only appeared for a mont, then crouched down, transforming into a face-down card on the field.
"If you think summoning King Kong face-down ans you're safe, you're too naive."
Trueman banished a monster card from his graveyard. With a swipe, a card appeared above his head. As a golden effect flashed, a dinsional vortex swallowed the card.
"'AD Changer' banishes itself from the grave to change a monster's battle position. I target my face-down 'Primineral Kongreat', flipping it to face-up Attack Position!"
The card flipped up, black gravel flying everywhere. The giant ape stood tall, pounding its chest with a thunderous roar.
[Primineral Kongreat, ATK 3000]
"Primineral Kongreat, effect activates! When flipped face-up, I can target up to two cards on the field and destroy them."
Without hesitation, Trueman pointed at Kira's two monsters.
"Destroy Gigaplant and World Carrotweight Champion!"
King Kong roared, slamming the ground. The entire field seed to sink under the blow, shards of black stone shooting toward Kira's monsters.
Gigaplant and World Carrotweight Champion were both destroyed.
"Now the eyesores are gone," Trueman said. "Ti for a direct attack.
Crush your foe with endless rage, King Kong—attack!"
The rocky gorilla roared, its red eyes blazing, enormous fists crashing toward Kira.
Gale-force winds swept over him, but Kira stood firm, his expression unchanged. He just shrugged.
"So focused on the monsters in front of you, you completely ignored my set cards. No wonder you got five-for-oned."
Yes, the famous five-for-one mont in Yu-Gi-Oh! ca from Jaden's duel with Trueman.
Trueman sneered,
"Still have ti to run your mouth at death's door?"
Kira just smiled, snapping his fingers.
"I activate my set card," he said. "Continuous Trap—'Cursed Ivy.'
I select a 'Ivy' monster in my graveyard, Special Summon it in Defense Position, and equip this card to it." (Ani card)
Kira pulled a monster card from his graveyard.
"I Special Summon 'Wall of Ivy' from the graveyard in Defense Position."
Countless green vines crawled from the grave, weaving together to form a wall before Kira.
[Wall of Ivy, DEF 1200]
"Stalling with weak monsters?" Trueman mocked. "Then, King Kong, destroy that wall!"
Without hesitation, the gorilla smashed the Wall of Ivy to pieces.
But strangely, the shattered Wall of Ivy didn't imdiately disappear; instead, its fragnts gathered on Trueman's field, taking root and sprouting in several empty monster zones.
Trueman's face changed.
"NANI?!"
