For the Seaborn, a single strike ant death, and a grazing blow ant injury. For Kanna, the lightning was an infinite charging treasure bestowed by the heavens.
She spread the power of the lightning around her, instantly attracting the surrounding thunder to herself. The lightning, unable to strike the Seaborn through the seawater, seed to find a channel and surged towards her, forming a massive pillar of light.
"Mwahahaha! Taste my move, Crucifixion Thunder Tree!" Feeling the rapidly replenishing lightning power, Kanna, amidst the behemoth's "Don't co near !" expression, rushed to its face with a bell-like laugh.
Before it could react and sink back into the seabed, Kanna, with the power of the thunder, once again stood atop its head.
The sudden, intense pain plunged the behemoth into madness once more.
It twisted its body, trying to shake Kanna off.
However, it didn't realize that this action was exactly what Kanna had planned.
Amidst the thunder, Kanna's two weapons glowed brightly.
With a push of her feet, the signature Spiral Back-Scrubbing technique, a dual-blade style against giant creatures from Monster Hunter, was once again replicated by Kanna.
Like a spinning top, she, with the continuous lightning overhead, gave the behemoth a high-speed and efficient whirlwind slash followed by a thunderous repair service, all in one go.
To be fair, if it were at its peak, even if the lightning damage was sowhat challenging for the behemoth, Kanna's weapon, only one and a half ters long, would not be able to penetrate its skin.
However, the severe injury it suffered earlier had caused most of its thick skin to necrotize. The two hours of recovery, relying on spores, only managed to grow a thin layer of new skin. To return to its original state, it would need to retreat to the seabed and slumber for a hundred years to possibly recover.
And this new layer of skin was not as thick and sturdy as the original. Under Kanna's round of slashes, a huge horizontal gash was torn open. Even for the behemoth's body, it wouldn't be cut in half, but the damage from this single blow was already comparable to the previous lightning storm.
Amidst a wail, the behemoth finally returned to the seawater.
But the gushing blood undoubtedly proved the extent of the destruction caused by Kanna's round of attacks.
Normally, Kanna would strike a dashing pose to show off after defeating an opponent. However, since she couldn't fly or swim on water, she could only flap her short legs and run continuously on the sea surface, partly to observe the situation in the sea and partly to keep herself from sinking.
At this point, the behemoth had already decided to retreat. If before it could attribute its severe injuries purely to bad luck and the natural disaster, this latest blow proved that there was an existence on land capable of killing it.
However, the leader of the Seaborn's current attack on Rock Bay Town found it. It would not be hindered if it left, but it hoped that before it left, it would use its magic once to cause a tsunami, allowing the Seaborn to rush onto the beach with the waves.
The behemoth hesitated for a mont, thinking of the severe injuries it had just suffered. To retreat so ignominiously would indeed leave it unwilling, but the creature on its head, smaller than even one of its scales, exerted imnse pressure on it. At this point, the Seaborn stated that they would send individuals to entangle Kanna on the sea, and the behemoth only needed to cast one spell before it could leave.
Upon hearing this news, the behemoth finally relented. It slowly floated upwards, preparing to unleash a massive attack on Rock Bay Town to vent its hatred once the Seaborn had Kanna preoccupied.
Kanna on the sea also noticed the situation in the sea. The behemoth, despite being so severely injured, still chose not to leave but was lurking dozens of ters underwater, brewing sothing. At this mont, many Seaborn were surrounding her from all directions.
"Heh heh! Are you planning to bully Kanna because she can't swim?"
Kanna looked at the dense lightning power around her, and a sudden flash of inspiration struck her.
While running on the sea, she opened her system and asked, "Hey hey! System buddy, my control over lightning spells, developed through Palm Thunder, doesn't count as using Palm Thunder, right?"
"That's right!" The system quickly replied.
Seeing the system's reply, Kanna felt relieved. Although for her, if it ca down to it, missing this reward wouldn't be a big deal, but if she could get it, there was no way she would just let it go.
Kanna extended her weapons, and currents of electricity continuously discharged from their tips. To the incredible gazes of the Seaborn and the giant beast, and the shocked expressions of everyone on shore, the power of lightning, which clearly couldn't be controlled between heaven and earth, gathered around Kanna. Then, countless electric currents intertwined and combined, forming a massive, silver-white dragon, its wingspan almost as large as the giant beast, appearing between heaven and earth, drawn with lightning as its ink.
At this mont, Kanna, guided by the lightning, entered the dragon's forehead. In an instant, the inherently illusory lightning dragon opened its eyes. In its deep blue eyes, silver-white vertical pupils, filled with endless majesty and killing intent, seed to gaze at every living creature in the sea. In that mont, the giant beast felt itself beco prey, and the giant dragon in the sky was the hunter.
The spell that had almost coalesced was instantly broken by that gaze. Even though its body was in excruciating pain from the backlash of the spell, the giant beast could no longer care. It broke free from the ocean's restraints with unprecedented speed, desperately swimming towards the outer sea, into the endless depths.
Terrified, it never approached any land again after that.
As a collective consciousness, the Seaborn suffered even more severe damage under this pressure. A large portion of the Seaborn, not strong enough themselves, collapsed from within after sharing the pressure felt by the stronger Seaborn. The fear they had never experienced directly broke through their consciousness, turning them into vegetative states in the sea.
The Seaborn who barely survived by sharing the burden with the weaker Seaborn also had no choice but to retreat.
After all, the low-level Seaborn, serving as basic troops, suffered over 70% losses after this attack. The giant beast, a decisive weapon, was also scared away to who knows where. The remaining Seaborn concluded that the plan to attack Rock Bay Town and recover their "compatriots" had completely failed. After this battle, the number of Seaborn within five hundred nautical miles of Rock Bay Town plumted by four-tenths. Coupled with the fact that the humans on land would surely strengthen coastal defenses, they were no longer capable of launching such large-scale operations targeting land areas.
After confirming their defeat, the Seaborn decisively retreated into the sea. Kanna, discovering their withdrawal, also ran towards the shore.
Upon reaching the shore, before she could even catch her breath, she saw the bloodthirsty security team preparing to launch a counter-charge against the Seaborn in the sea.
This startled her. She knew that the thunderstorm above would not end until tomorrow morning, and lightning did not discriminate.
