Kanna guessed that the people inside were likely connected to Duke Fox, or even spies arranged by him.
Hiding outside the door, she waited until the two people ca out of the room, morized their appearances, and then silently withdrew from the inpatient departnt.
She first found J.A. to obtain information on all the patients there, then filtered out the two targets and took the intelligence to the Control Room.
Why didn't she act imdiately? Kanna considered that Kal'tsit had connections with Victoria.
She had only understood five or six tenths of what was said; if she caught the wrong people, and they turned out to be Kal'tsit's and Victoria's liaisons, that would be awkward.
Moreover, since the targets were already on Rhodes Island, they couldn't escape, so confirming the intelligence's authenticity before apprehending them wouldn't make a difference.
Arriving at the Control Room, Kal'tsit was watching a video, and the subject of the video was Kanna.
She had previously received a ssage from J.A. about Kanna retrieving patient information, and coupled with Ptilopsis's ssage about Kanna's abnormal behavior, she had pulled up Kanna's itinerary to review it.
Just as she was watching Kanna sneak into the inpatient departnt in a patient gown, the main character herself arrived.
"Alright, what are you up to now?" Kal'tsit crossed her arms over her chest, leaning back in her chair, looking at Kanna with a helpless expression.
"Don't look at like that; I do serious work too.
Here, do you know these two people?" Kanna didn't show any anger at Kal'tsit's suspicion.
Instead, she jumped onto the table, sat on the tall stack of docunts, and handed the two individuals' files to Kal'tsit.
Seeing Kanna's exaggerated movents, the entire Control Room fell silent, and with a series of "hiss~" sounds of gasps, Kanna successfully contributed a bit to global warming.
A vein throbbed on Kal'tsit's forehead, but she ultimately held back, mainly because Mon3tr conveyed, "Sister, I really can't beat this one.
Get angry if you want, but please don't call out..."
Kal'tsit took the two patient records from Kanna's hand, glanced at them, and then tossed them onto the table.
"I don't know them."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm absolutely sure."
Kanna slapped her thigh, a smile spreading across her face, "Then that's it."
Before Kal'tsit could erupt, Kanna continued,
"I just heard these two guys in the inpatient departnt discussing 'Duke Fox' and so other miscellaneous stuff in Victorian language.
Of course, if it were just a normal chat, I wouldn't care, but the key is that in such a busy place like the inpatient departnt, they specifically went into an empty room, locked the door tightly, and looked around suspiciously when they ca out.
They clearly don't look like good people."
After listening, Kal'tsit exhaled, suppressing her anger.
"You an you found spies in the inpatient departnt, and they're from Victoria?"
"Spies, I think it's very likely, but whether they're from Victoria, I really can't guarantee," Kanna replied decisively.
Kal'tsit's finger tapped lightly on the table.
"Since you discovered them, you go confirm.
Once you confirm their identity as spies, you are authorized to apprehend them and bring them back."
"What if there are other spies? Aren't you afraid of alerting them?"
Kanna had originally thought that since the targets were already on Rhodes Island's radar, Kal'tsit would use them to fish for more spies, but she didn't expect Kal'tsit to directly tell her to confirm and then apprehend them.
"Do you think you can catch all the spies from various countries on Rhodes Island?" Kal'tsit counter-asked.
Kanna scratched her head, "Well, no, I guess not~ Alright, anyway, one caught is one.
But do you want them dead or alive?"
"Alive is best, but if their resistance would affect Rhodes Island's safety, then dead is acceptable."
Kal'tsit wasn't worried about Kanna's ability to capture them alive, but she considered that although they were spies, if they were admitted, they must be Infected.
If they went berserk upon exposure, it would be problematic, especially since they were in the inpatient departnt, where most ordinary Infected were.
If things escalated, it would be hard to clean up the ss.
After getting Kal'tsit's approval, Kanna skipped out of the Control Room, leaving behind a few papers fluttering in the air.
Only after Kanna had left did Kal'tsit think with a puzzled expression that since Kanna had been assigned to SWEEP, she had never seen her do any SWEEP work.
The only ti was a task she herself had assigned, so why would she suddenly care about Rhodes Island's counter-intelligence work?
But Kal'tsit, unaware of the system, would probably rack her brain and still not know that this was rely a task arranged by the system, and Kanna was just a ruthless task-completion machine...
After leaving, Kanna returned to the inpatient departnt, and while J.A. was still there, she found her to learn about the two targets' rooms.
She discovered that they were in different suites on different floors.
Through their dical records, it could also be seen that one of them had been on Rhodes Island even longer than Kanna, while the other had co for treatnt during Kanna's trip to Iberia.
Their original rooms and the room where Kanna had found them were quite a distance apart.
The forr also worked part-ti as a cleaner for the dical Departnt, responsible for cleaning that floor, and these two, by all accounts, should have no connection.
With these clues, Kanna applied for Ptilopsis's access via her communicator and retrieved all records from the latter's arrival on the island until today.
Goodness, it was one of those situations where you don't know until you see it, and when you see it, it's a shocker.
Besides the person from before, in the Inpatient Departnt, the latter had at least three other "secret" connections. These individuals were mostly Infected patients who had lived on Rhodes Island for at least half a year. Most of them were not wealthy and quickly succumbed to the latter's lungn dollars offensive, becoming his eyes.
Kanna then re-notified Kal'tsit of this information. Upon hearing it, Kal'tsit imdiately dispatched the four mbers of A4 Action Group who were on standby at Rhodes Island.
As the four who had dealt with Kanna before, they did not object to Kal'tsit entrusting the temporary captain's duties to the youngest, Kanna. Instead, they were curious about what Kanna was up to on Rhodes Island this ti, to warrant Kal'tsit deploying a team of Operators for assistance.
Upon arriving at the Inpatient Departnt, the group found Kanna in the Doctor's office. Kanna, without ceremony, relayed the intelligence she had gathered to the four. Finally, the five decided to each take one target: the four mbers of A4 would apprehend the four Infected who had been turned, while the spy from Victoria would be handled personally by Kanna.
After finalizing the plan, the group headed to the targets' current locations based on the intelligence they had.
