Suddenly, Kanna's ears twitched. She heard faint breathing not far ahead.
Creeping over, she saw a Lupo girl sleeping on the edge of a platform.
Her flaxen hair and youthful, beautiful appearance imdiately allowed Kanna to recognize her. Perfur Lena, her most trusted healer in the early ga, who, along with Silence, helped her overco one challenge after another.
Then this must be the Greenhouse she transford on Rhodes Island, no wonder there were so many different flowers.
After curiously observing for a while, she quietly retreated, not wanting to disturb the scene, which was like a sleeping beauty from a fairy tale.
Lena, who woke up shortly after, rubbed her eyes, sniffed lightly, and then frowned slightly, as there was a different scent in the air.
Worried that a child might have entered to pick flowers, she quickly stood up and walked outside.
Upon stepping out, she found nothing unusual outside, except for the faint, distinct scent in the air that reminded her soone had been there; otherwise, it was no different from before.
"This scent, is it a child? Thankfully, they didn't damage the plants here. But I've set up permissions here; no one should be able to open this large door without my permission, except for official Operators!"
Lena walked to the doorway and looked out. Kanna had already left a long ti ago, so naturally, she didn't find any traces.
anwhile, after leaving the Greenhouse, Kanna continued walking further into Rhodes Island. Outside a large door, she saw many automated robots moving in and out. Peering inside, she saw a dozen workers categorizing and boxing items delivered via conveyor belts. Kanna imdiately noticed that these people were boxing boxes of white sugar.
Watching the boxes of white sugar being packed and combined, she guessed this must be the processing station, the place in the ga where materials are combined for Operators' breakthroughs and skill learning.
She glanced at the schedule board not far away, which showed a standard three-shift assembly line schedule. Kanna couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. An eight-hour workday was acceptable; although she didn't know if there were holidays, compared to 996 and 007, this kind of work was quite conscientious, not to ntion certain "black-hearted" Doctors whose infrastructure was perpetually in the red.
Quickly walking past the entrance of the processing station, Kanna continued deeper inside.
Inside the processing station at that mont:
"Did sothing just pass by the door? Did any of you see it?"
"Huh? Was there?"
"Impossible. Besides those chanical carts, only us workers are on this path. Are your eyes playing tricks on you from working too long? Maybe you should take a break..."
"Hahahaha, maybe. But no need for a break, this work isn't strenuous. It's rare to find a place willing to accept us Infected, and they even pay us to work. If we slack off, how can we live up to their trust?"
While chatting, their hands never stopped working, but after this conversation, everyone's energy significantly increased.
