As the first ray of morning sun shone into the off-road vehicle, Kanna finally woke from her deep sleep.
Upon waking, she found herself in the arms of a kind grandmotherly figure.
Outcast smiled faintly when she saw the Young Dragon in her arms wake up, then carefully supported her head so she wouldn't hit anything due to the vehicle's bumps.
Misery, in the passenger seat, also noticed Kanna waking up.
He wasn't as completely unguarded as Outcast, and he involuntarily tensed up.
As a Sarkaz, he had witnessed many mysterious Originium Arts. Although Kanna looked like a small child, who knew if she was truly just a child?
After all, not to ntion the old monsters in the royal court, each one of them was enigmatic, and there were also those high-tower mages obsessed with forbidden arts. Who knew if any of them had developed a spell to extend life by becoming smaller in pursuit of immortality?
The reason, of course, was that he didn't believe a young girl could survive alone in a desert where even a fully equipped team would struggle to last long.
"Do you want so water, little one?" Outcast took a cup from a nearby team mber, shook it, and asked.
"Hmm? Awwooo!"
Kanna, just waking up, was still a bit groggy, but seeing the cup in front of her, she instinctively reached out her head—
Then, to the astonished gazes of the others, she bit Outcast's hand that was holding the cup, taking it whole into her mouth.
The Operators nearby beca very nervous when they saw Kanna's action and were about to reach out to pull Outcast's hand out of Kanna's mouth.
Outcast stopped them, because she felt Kanna had stopped moving after putting her hand in her mouth, as if she had realized her mistake.
Sure enough, Kanna opened her mouth and released her hand.
When everyone's attention shifted from Outcast's hand to Kanna, they saw her looking at Outcast with teary eyes.
"Sorry! Kanna just wanted water, Kanna didn't an to bite you, Kanna doesn't eat people…"
At this mont, Kanna was utterly distraught. She hadn't expected her consciousness to rge with Kanna's body after transmigrating into her form; otherwise, no matter how bad her morning mood was, she wouldn't have put soone's entire hand in her mouth just for a sip of water.
"Is your na Kanna? That's a lovely na… But how did you end up in that cave? Where are your family?" Outcast gently stroked Kanna's soft long hair, asking tenderly.
"Hmm~~~ Kanna doesn't know!"
Kanna couldn't explain her appearance; after all, 'Dragon Maid' and Terra weren't from the sa world. So, after a mont of hesitation, she used the ultimate loli move: feigning cuteness to muddle through.
Seeing the Young Dragon in her arms furrow her brow and think for a long ti before blurting out such a sentence, Outcast was also quite helpless. But whether she was trying to hide sothing or truly knew nothing,
since she had found this little one, as long as she didn't intend to harm Rhodes Island, then taking her back to the island was the mission she had set for herself.
After her morning grogginess, Kanna was fully awake. She looked around and found herself in a moving car.
She climbed to the car window and curiously looked outside. It had been ten days since she arrived in this world, but this was her first ti observing the scenery with a longing for beauty. Most of the ti before, she was either foraging or secretly watching the battles that occasionally occurred around her.
