Jing State, Boundless Cliff.
Standing at the edge of the cliff, Zhang Ze gazed absentmindedly at the distant scenery.
Compared to words and pictures, seeing this scene firsthand was truly sowhat mysterious and surreal.
Beneath Zhang Ze's feet, to the west of the cliff lay a shattered land.
Rivers of magma roiled, dividing the crimson-black earth into isolated islands, while at the sa ti, pieces of the broken land slowly rose due to so force, only to fall again after reaching a hundred ters.
Back and forth they went, the broken land continually separating and rging, under the influence of the magma.
There were no beasts, no vegetation, and no buildings, or any creatures of elental nature.
Only the magma rivers, covering the desolate land like a spider's web.
Chaotic Spiritual Qi vortexes could be seen everywhere, twisting sunlight into another color.
This place was a strange spectacle, but sowhat monotonous.
This is the Central Continent, or rather, what was once the Central Continent.
The battlefield of the great east-west war of the past.
A few days ago, Zhang Ze had wondered what it would be like if Pavilion Master and those Great Powers fought without restraint.
Now he saw it, he thought that the scene before him was pretty much like that.
A lifeless, spiritually chaotic, and fragnted wasteland.
How many years have passed since that war, yet this place remains unchanged.
Moreover, the Boundless Cliff beneath Zhang Ze's feet, within ten miles eastward, was equally barren, influenced by the Central Continent.
Not to ntion the moral level of the western Barbarian Race, Zhang Ze felt that the current peace among the Three Continents was inseparable from the Central Continent.
Now the Human, Demon, and Barbarian Races govern one continent each; if conflict escalates, the final result might just be exchanging each other's hos for chaos.
Everyone would tear down each other's hos, and then no one can live, everyone would be wiped out...
Jing State, adjacent to the forr Central Continent, had such scenery everywhere.
But clearly, except for those people like Zhang Ze, who had ti to spare, few would co here to enjoy the view.
After all, although the scenery was strange and rare, it couldn't be eaten as food.
Nor was there any word that this Absolute Land contained any treasures; all records about the Central Continent and the war in those years have disappeared along with Dongqi's demise.
If there were any, the dangers here might outweigh the benefits.
If one accidentally fell off the cliff, even a Golden Core Cultivator might be caught by those omnipresent chaotic Spiritual Qi vortexes.
As for the outco, it was very uncertain.
These Spiritual Qi vortexes were generated by the bigshots fighting here back then, like echoes from the past, containing a kind of mysterious power.
These vortexes appeared randomly in the Central Continent; once sucked in, one might be drained of energy, or turned to dust by Sword Qi; the best case would be randomly teleported to another place.
The outskirts are already like this; entering the core of the Central Continent, the heartland of that war, harbors even more dangers, even a Divinity Transformation and Void Refining Cultivator dared not ensure their safety.
"I wonder what grudge or hatred back then led to such a scenario." Zhang Ze muttered to himself.
"Not much to see, let's go." With that, he was about to turn and leave.
When saying goodbye earlier with Li Yueqi, though just casually chatting with her, he also gained so enlightennt.
He always felt that he was too busy recently, if he wasn't cultivating, he was finding sothing to do; several tis going out on important tasks, now it's ti to relax a little.
Coming to Jing State was partly to surprise his junior sister, and partly to just wander around and see the Four Continents' scenery.
Now that he had seen enough, it was naturally ti to leave.
Zhang Ze planned to stroll around a nearby market and buy so Jing State specialties; he rembered Jing State's wine was quite nice from a place called Wine Sword Immortal.
Just then, Zhang Ze suddenly felt soone kick him from behind.
It was a novel experience for Zhang Ze, as he was usually the one doing the kicking.
Now, he was the one being kicked, and what's more, he didn't notice it at all, his Protective Magical Artifact didn't react either.
And that kick felt very peculiar; despite being unprepared, as a Golden Core, the kick could easily knock him off the cliff, yet didn't harm him in the slightest.
His body instantly lost control, tilting forward, just as Zhang Ze was about to use an Escape Technique to save himself, a Spiritual Qi vortex appeared behind him...
...
Sowhere in the Central Continent, who knows where.
Compared to other places in the Central Continent, it was eerily calm here.
"Though it's hard to explain, this is just how I ended up here, no idea which damn person kicked ." Zhang Ze spread his hands as he crouched behind a boulder, looking at the Fox Demon Bai Tao in front of him.
Since parting from Wangyang City, Zhang Ze hadn't expected to see his fanboy here.
As soon as he was sucked into the vortex, he activated a Protective Magical Artifact, but the vortex only had the power to teleport, not harm.
And the mont Zhang Ze landed, he saw Bai Tao in front of him.
"So, how did you end up here?" Zhang Ze asked.
"Teacher, where have you gotten in writing your book?" Bai Tao asked too.
Zhang Ze, "..."
Bai Tao gave an awkward laugh, then started to talk about important things.
Listening to Bai Tao, she was ordered by the rchant association to do business in Jing State, negotiating a deal of Golden Sun Stones with so small sects in Jing State.
Then, like Zhang Ze, she was curious about the strange scenery of the Central Continent and wanted to take a look.
In another place known as the Nine Nether River, Bai Tao daringly wandered to the edge of the magma river and was sucked in by a Spiritual Qi vortex.
Reflecting on it now, Bai Tao also felt like soone seed to have pushed her a little back then.
After Bai Tao finished speaking, Zhang Ze asked, "You ca for business, so surely you have companions, soone must co looking for you?"
But Bai Tao shook her head.
