Now reading: Chapter 177 - 177 175 Central Responsible Teacher Nan Zhubin from Who would study psychology unless they had some issues?!, a Urban novel by Panda's Big Log Cabin.

177: Chapter 175 Central Responsible Teacher: Nan Zhubin Needs My Help 177: Chapter 175 Central Responsible Teacher: Nan Zhubin Needs My Help Xia Tian’s proposal seed relatively flexible.

But Nan Zhubin thought for a mont and still shook his head, “Subjectively, I feel I can control myself, but objectively, I can’t guarantee there’s absolutely no risk of being influenced, in that case…”

“But during this ti slot, only you, Mr.

Nan, are available.”

Xia Tian interrupted Nan Zhubin; it was the first ti she showed a relatively assertive side in front of him.

She seed to have already considered her strategy.

“What if the student has so urgent problem that needs solving?

If you don’t take it, no one will provide consultation for her, right?

You don’t want to see the student tornted by issues, do you, Mr.

Nan?”

“What if postponing her consultation results in new problems?

That’s not impossible in psychology, right?”

“What if she decides to give up on consultation because there’s no one available during that ti slot?

There are precedents for this at the center.”

Three consecutive ‘what ifs’ put Nan Zhubin back into deep thought.

Most importantly, what Xia Tian said was true.

“Even if you might be subjectively influenced, and unable to provide a ‘perfect consultation’, with your skills, you can certainly help her, right?”

Nan Zhubin thought for a mont and nodded, feeling confident about that.

“Then it’s settled,” Xia Tian clapped her hands.

“Besides, even a ‘not perfect consultation’ from you, Mr.

Nan, is much better than from other teachers who aren’t as skilled, and certainly better than ‘no consultation’, isn’t that right?”

Nan Zhubin thought about it, then nodded, finally acquiescing.

“Then let’s consider Cheng Hui as my client too.

When is her consultation scheduled?”

“The afternoon after tomorrow,” Xia Tian replied swiftly.

With lightning speed, she reached out her slender, fair fingers, grabbed a pen, and wrote ‘Consultant: Nan Zhubin’ on the appointnt book.

As if fearing he’d change his mind.

She then breathed a sigh of relief.

With that, it was decided.

Also relieved was the person who had been observing the interaction between Xia Tian and Nan Zhubin.

At that mont, Nan Zhubin unintentionally glanced at the third person in the room aside from Xia Tian and himself.

“It’s been a while, Chen Ting.”

Chen Ting, Nan Zhubin’s first case, was a student assistant at Jiang University Psychological Center along with Xia Tian.

She had been quietly observing without speaking until Nan Zhubin acknowledged her, prompting her to finally speak:

“It really has been a while, Mr.

Nan.”

“How have you been?”

“Pretty well,” Chen Ting smiled freely.

Nan Zhubin observed Chen Ting’s expression, particularly her smile.

After a mont’s breath, Nan Zhubin showed a genuine internal joy, “That’s good.”

Since Chen Ting’s counseling ended, this was the first ti Nan Zhubin and Chen Ting t; outside the consultation room, such encounters between a visitor and consultant were usually awkward.

Fortunately, Xia Tian had laid the groundwork, informing Nan Zhubin in advance that Chen Ting also worked at Jiang University Psychological Center, and Chen Ting also knew through Xia Tian that Nan Zhubin would be visiting that day.

This served as a buffer.

Plus, with Nan Zhubin’s proactive greeting, their relationship smoothly transitioned from a “consultation relationship” to being “acquaintances” and perhaps even “friends”.

However, this also implied another type of “dual relationship”, aning if Chen Ting needed further counseling, she could no longer seek help from Nan Zhubin.

Faced with such a transition.

Seeing Nan Zhubin initially made Chen Ting feel sowhat tense, but now she suddenly felt at ease; although the outco wasn’t what she initially desired, it relieved her from a previous state of indecision.

She felt a sense of relaxation.

Click—

Just as Chen Ting was about to say sothing to Nan Zhubin, the consultation room door suddenly opened.

The three initially thought it was a visitor, but instead, it was the supervising teacher they had previously t at the center.

Tap, tap, tap.

The tall, slim supervising teacher at the center conveyed a sense of authority when expressionless; especially as an official administrative teacher, his attire was always very neat—shirt, trousers, leather shoes—which lent him a commanding presence when standing before students at the university.

Upon entering, he imdiately saw Nan Zhubin surrounded by two female student assistants.

“…Oh, Mr.

Nan, you’re here so early.”

However, once he saw Nan Zhubin, the supervising teacher’s formal veneer of authority seed to involuntarily drop.

During their last eting, the supervising teacher had, to an extent, been impressed by Nan Zhubin;

But while it’s easy to impress soone on the spot, winning over soone’s heart is much harder.

When confronted by soone more capable, admiration arises instinctively; yet once removed from the imdiate context, one’s confidence can gradually return.

Take the supervising teacher, for instance; when faced with Nan Zhubin last ti, he had just misjudged a student’s situation, which left him embarrassed; and at that precise mont, Nan Zhubin stepped in with absolute professionalism.

This inadvertently made the supervising teacher bow his head inwardly.

Having since had several days to recover, the supervising teacher had straightened himself back up, managed to reclaim so level of confidence, and was contemplating how during a future eting he could perhaps regain a bit of self-assurance from Nan Zhubin.

This mindset isn’t necessarily malicious.

Confidence doesn’t have to be derived from “subduing” or “hindering” others; it can also co from “helping”, as genuine help can only be offered from a position of superiority.

Just like a line from “Schindler’s List”: “Real power is not in taking lives, but in allowing people to live when you have the power to kill.”

Nan Zhubin helping the supervising teacher in casework demonstrated his superior consulting skills; now the supervising teacher wanted the chance to assist Nan Zhubin, to even things out sohow.

How to help Nan Zhubin?

If it were a joke, as the supervising teacher in charge at Jiang University Psychological Center, he was unquestioned in his authority unless directed otherwise by higher leadership!

With these feelings, the supervising teacher stepped into his own Psychological Consultation Center.

And saw Nan Zhubin.

“Mr.

Nan, are you here for consultations today?” The supervising teacher greeted with a smile, a carefully chosen opener.

Nan Zhubin nodded, “Yes.”

The supervising teacher continued smoothly.

“That’s really dedicated of you.”

“As I ntioned previously, the few students I spoke about, it would be great if you could take them on; if you want to practice further and take on more consultations, just let know, and I can help to arrange more if need be.”

He strode forward and glanced down at the consultation schedule on the table.
