40: Chapter 40 Jiangdu University 40: Chapter 40 Jiangdu University Howard asked, “Do you have any consultations today?”

Nan Zhubin subtly let out a sigh of relief and replied, “Just finished one this morning.”

“Could it beco a long-term arrangent?”

Nan Zhubin smiled sweetly, choosing to tell a partial truth based on the situation, “Little Bing is working hard to follow up, there’s a good chance.”

So Howard nodded with satisfaction.

“How are those long-term consultations going?

I rember you secured the two most profitable clients just a couple of days ago?”

Nan Zhubin nodded affirmatively, “The first one is Chen Ting, as you know, and the second is a bar owner nad Mr.

Huang.”

Howard leaned forward, “How have they been doing recently?”

Nan Zhubin regretfully said, “Chen Ting hasn’t shown up since the second consultation; the bar owner ca for the second ti but missed the third.”

Not just Chen Ting, but also Mr.

Huang, who mistook a career setback for an emotional one, missed a session.

But Mr.

Huang is different from Chen Ting.

Later, Nan Zhubin’s assistant managed to get in touch with Chen Ting’s mother and gathered so information about Chen Ting’s current situation.

However, Mr.

Huang seed to have disappeared entirely, neither showing up nor responding to calls and texts.

It’s as if he vanished into thin air.

It’s been over ten days now.

Nan Zhubin felt quite regretful; though he could still make money in such situations, he lost several hours of consultation, which led him to only hit the “Monthly Goal” for the second ti today.

What surprised Nan Zhubin even more was the look of regret that appeared on Howard’s face upon hearing this.

He thought Howard would be as happy as Shen Bing about making money effortlessly.

Howard glanced toward his own office and suddenly lowered his voice.

The middle-aged man’s voice had a magnetic quality to it, and when lowered, there was a hint of a bass effect—it was quite pleasant to the ear.

Nonetheless, considering his current body language, Nan Zhubin couldn’t help but feel he seed rather secretive.

“Little Nan, I have an idea.

Let know if you think it could work…”

Nan Zhubin picked up a new coffee cup, placing it on his chest as he leaned slightly forward, “Go ahead.”

“Regarding these clients, do you feel confident that they’ll renew their contracts in the future?”

“Hmm?” Nan Zhubin looked at Howard’s face, paused montarily, “Boss, I’m quite confident in solving their problems…”

“Of course, solve their problems, that’s what we should do.” Howard shook his head, “What I an is, could your intervention process be a bit more conservative?

Or, perhaps after solving the problem, persuade them to continue with the consultations, ensuring the problems are completely resolved?”

Nan Zhubin narrowed his eyes.

He understood Howard’s implication.

He observed Howard’s face, recording the expression as one that could serve as a “baseline” for future reference.

While observing, he continued speaking.

“But now these two clients aren’t coming anymore.” Nan Zhubin glanced in the direction behind Howard, “I guess they feel their issues are resolved.”

“I know, I know.”

Howard furrowed his brows slightly, genuinely seeming a bit troubled, “But Little Nan, do you know what I built my career on?”

“What?”

“Private detective work.”

Nan Zhubin displayed an awed expression, “Do we even have that here?”

“…So I switched careers.”

Howard shook his head, “That’s not the point.

The point is my working model at the ti.

Do you know what efforts we had to make to maintain a client?”

Nan Zhubin continued looking at the space behind Howard, “What efforts?”

“It’s kind of like the sales model of gyms nowadays, requiring us to frequently maintain relationships with clients offline…”

“How!

Wa!

Rd!”

A cold voice suddenly sounded from behind Howard.

Howard’s body stiffened suddenly, and in that instant, Nan Zhubin could read an astonishing amount of information on his face.

Weng Pinting stood at the junction of the office area and the pantry, her gaze piercing.

Nan Zhubin was convinced that Howard must have truly felt what it ans to have a “thorn in the back” at that mont.

“Mr.

Nan, get ready.

We’ll head to Jiangdu University to give a lecture in half an hour.”

“Okay.” Nan Zhubin obediently agreed, then sociably said, “Boss, shall I head out now?”

“Go ahead.” Howard nodded.

It was clear that he was trying hard to maintain his expression, but his chaotic micro expressions still made Nan Zhubin’s eyes ache.

Nan Zhubin walked slowly out of the pantry.

As he approached the office, he found a few colleagues holding cups at the edge, waiting in anticipation.

A few cups still had instant coffee powder in them, and those colleagues found themselves in a dilemma about whether to go to the pantry to fetch hot water.

As for the others…

“If you’re here to watch the spectacle, at least hold a cup.” Nan Zhubin kindly reminded in a low voice.

The remaining consultants saw the reason and quickly returned to their desks nonchalantly, only to co back with mugs, coffee cups, and bottled water, feigning hesitation.

Nan Zhubin shrugged and went back to his workstation to pack his things.

Today was the “end of the month” that had previously been ntioned, when they were supposed to go to Jiangdu University for a lecture.

In the common perception of the public, the shorter a university’s na, the more prestigious it seems.

Six characters are good, and four characters are even better.

Even if they don’t know much about the school, seeing such a concise na will evoke a mysterious sense of grandeur.

Of course, there are cases where a six-character university is more prestigious than a four-character one.

So eight-character or seven-character universities are strong competitors for the top 9 universities in the nation.

However, “Jiangdu University,” a university nad after a top-tier coastal province, doesn’t have to worry about this.

In Jiangdu Province, it is the best university; looking across the country, it is a strong contender for the top 5, even among the top 3.

It was once also Nan Zhubin’s alma mater.

“Excuse , are you Mr.

Weng, Mr.

Hu, and Mr.

Nan?”

A reception staff had been waiting at the school gate for a while, and upon seeing Weng Pinting and the others, their eyes lit up and they imdiately approached.

The bearded man proudly raised his brows at Nan Zhubin, his neatly-trimd beard causing his chin to tilt up by 2 degrees.

He was pleased that his na had been ntioned before Nan Zhubin’s when the reception staff introduced them; this was important to him.

Nan Zhubin shrugged indifferently and then sized up the reception group in front of him.

The person Weng Pinting was chatting with had a high hairline, evident tiredness on their face—clearly a young teacher, perhaps a newly appointed lecturer;

Following him were a male and a female—students, judging by their clear eyes.

The female student, upon recognizing Nan Zhubin, suddenly switched to a bright and clear gaze and imdiately raised her cara.

“Our university’s website will need so news coverage, so we might need the teachers to take a few photos and later do a photo shoot with the school leaders,” explained the teacher leading the group.

“No problem,” said Weng Pinting, perfectly at ease with all these arrangents.

The female student’s cara continuously flashed.

“Do we really need that many photos?”

“We have to pick the best angles, of course!” the girl declared confidently.

The bearded man’s chin suddenly dropped by three degrees, now even lower than that of most people.
