54: Chapter 54: The Work of the Subconscious 54: Chapter 54: The Work of the Subconscious There is a principle in psychological consultation, called “helping others to help themselves”.

It ans helping the visitors enhance their independence and reduce their dependency on the consultant, enabling them to solve problems independently when encountering difficulties in the future.

After a period of adaptation to the industry, psychological consultation has gained an unspeakable sub-principle, called “helping those who help themselves”.

It ans: only help those who will seek help for themselves.

As for those who don’t want to help themselves, they are entirely ignored.

— Except for suicidality-related disorders, which require strong external intervention.

The criterion for judging whether a person has the “will to help themselves” in the industry is often whether the visitors are willing to co to find the consultant themselves.

If they co, help; if not, do not help.

This is a rather ti-saving and labor-saving one-size-fits-all approach.

However, not coming to find a consultant does not an there is no will to help oneself.

That day, after the confrontation between Nan Zhubin and Wang An, Chen Ting, who originally stayed by Wang An’s side, did not leave with Wang An imdiately.

Even when Wang An urged for the first ti, Chen Ting turned a deaf ear.

She just stared at Nan Zhubin.

And in those eyes, what Nan Zhubin read was not emotion, but three words.

— “Help .”

So, there was a series of subsequent events.

But, given Nan Zhubin’s identity and various legal identities, he couldn’t intervene violently, so he needed to guide Chen Ting to help herself.

Using private contact thods to have Chen Ting co for consultation was a major breakthrough.

Getting Chen Ting to speak about the traumatic event was the next breakthrough Nan Zhubin pursued.

But now, it seems to have reached a bottleneck.

But it’s okay.

In psychological consultation, one often encounters visitors who have the will to help themselves or even a survival instinct but, paradoxically, avoid talking about their situation.

They may be hindered by the constraints of reality, or their energy is insufficient to support themselves in resisting.

After shouting “help ,” they may have exhausted all their strength, and even if a hand is extended in front of them, they have no strength to grasp it.

But it’s okay.

The consultant’s job is to cut off those dark drags and inject strength into the visitors.

Seeing that Chen Ting didn’t want to talk about her trauma, Nan Zhubin had anticipated it.

And he was prepared.

Here’s a real tip that can help everyone screen the qualification of psychological consultants: if a consultant is powerless when facing a visitor who refuses to talk and uses it as an excuse for a poor consultation effect, then that consultant is undoubtedly an amateur scamr.

A good consultant can guide the visitor to speak, even without the visitor speaking.

The “sand box therapy” is one of the consultation techniques mastered by Nan Zhubin, allowing the visitor to “open up”.

It belongs to one of the earliest schools of psychology, the “Psychoanalysis School”.

And what this school most advocates is—researching the subconscious of people!

When Nan Zhubin first ca to Yan Nuo, he used sand box therapy to examine and heal himself.

At this mont, seeing Chen Ting look over, Nan Zhubin explained:

“Now, this sand tray, and the model toys around, all belong to you.”

Nan Zhubin pointed to the 50cm*70cm*7cm single-person sand tray in front and pointed to the nearby models.

These models covered various thes, including plants, animals, humans, buildings, tools, and many more.

“You can first use your hands to touch the sand, feel the sensation the sand gives you, and form it into whatever shape you like.

Once you feel you’ve got the hang of it, you can choose models from the model shelf, take one or a type at a ti, and put it anywhere in the sand tray, wherever and however you like to place it.”

“Use these models to construct a world you desire.”

Chen Ting stood up, observed the sand tray for a while, and looked around at all the models.

After Nan Zhubin finished explaining, she slowly reached her hand into the sand.

The corner of Nan Zhubin’s mouth lifted slightly.

Chen Ting’s active cooperation ford a sharp contrast with her previous non-communicative state.

This precisely verified his assumption: Chen Ting is in a state of actively seeking help but lacks self-power.

Such visitors have important characteristics of not liking to speak, yet respond quickly when asked to do tests, gas, or other activities.

Nan Zhubin watched Chen Ting.

The sand in the sand tray was carefully selected fine sand, soft to the touch, softer than the hands of an eighteen-year-old girl.

Chen Ting buried her hand into it, then took it out.

She grabbed a handful of sand, feeling it slowly flow out from her fingers and between her fingers.

She involuntarily used the back of her other hand to catch the falling sand, feeling it spray across every receptor on her skin.

Small grains of sand hit and rub against the grooves on the skin.

Then transform into waves of mini sand-colored ripples, falling.

Chen Ting couldn’t help getting goosebumps, feeling as though she wasn’t touching the sand, but the sand was touching her.

Or rather, comforting her.

Nan Zhubin stood directly in front of Chen Ting, no longer moving as of now, ensuring he was within her sight, even making himself a “object,” to provide her more sense of security.

In his vision, Chen Ting’s body constantly released signals to him.

[Her shoulders began lowering from a tense state, her brows relaxed, her nostrils stopped flaring]

Possibly feeling hot, she unbuttoned the top button of her down jacket and zipped down to her neck.

[The area around the head and neck shows no tense veins, indicating a state of relaxation.]

“Can I choose anything?”

Possibly overwheld by the models around, Chen Ting looked back at Nan Zhubin for confirmation.

“You can choose anything.”

Nan Zhubin repeated her words in a confident tone, a smile on his lips, eyes encouraging.

Chen Ting walked up to a skull model and stood still.

Nan Zhubin pursed his lips, his heart involuntarily lifted.

Chen Ting touched the skull’s head and walked away.

Instead, she picked up a small shovel for digging sand and began slowly digging at the upper right corner of the sand tray.

The sand soon parted, revealing the bottom blue paint.

This color represents life.

Chen Ting circled her wrist with the shovel, creating a blue circle inside the sand tray.

In the land of thick sand, there suddenly appeared a patch of blue, connected end to end, enclosing another area of sand, forming a land.

Like an isolated island.
