76: Chapter 76: The Last Consultation 76: Chapter 76: The Last Consultation “Mr.

Nan, Mr.

Nan!”

In his sleep, soone was shaking Nan Zhubin’s body.

Only one person would do that.

He looked up and sure enough, he saw his assistant Shen Bing’s face.

“Mr.

Nan, there’s a visitor coming in twenty minutes, maybe you should get up and prepare?”

Nan Zhubin responded with a “Okay,” and patted his face to wake himself up a bit.

This ti, however, after successfully getting Nan Zhubin up, Shen Bing didn’t just leave; instead, he hesitated a bit.

After a while, he couldn’t help but ask Nan Zhubin, “Mr.

Nan, can I ask you a question?”

“What’s the matter?”

“I heard you made a big scene at Jiang University the other day?” Shen Bing gossiped, “Are those rumors true?”

Nan Zhubin smiled thinly, “I signed a confidentiality agreent.”

Shen Bing imdiately got anxious: “But I’m your assistant!

I went with you to Jiang University, you left there alone while you acted on your own, now you won’t even tell what you did.

You’re really…”

Nan Zhubin ignored Shen Bing, casually picked up his file holder, and found an empty consultation room to enter.

After he left, several consultation assistants and young consultants found Shen Bing, each of them with gossip written all over their faces.

“Ah Bing, Ah Bing, you guys did amazing things on this project at Jiang University!”

“I heard Mr.

Nan sent a very young professor in for the visitor.

Is that true?”

Just now utterly vexed and flushed by Nan Zhubin, Shen Bing suddenly turned serious: “Sorry, I’ve signed a confidentiality agreent.”

Twenty minutes later.

Inside the consultation room.

Nan Zhubin saw the young woman sitting in front of him, and just felt his eyes brighten a little.

Not long ago, she was radiating gloom, depression, and a withdrawn temperant, but now she seed reborn, exuding a sunny disposition from the inside out.

Nan Zhubin joked, “Though we spoke not long ago, I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages.”

Chen Ting joked back, “‘One day apart feels like three years,’ if so, it really seems like we haven’t seen each other for years.”

So Nan Zhubin and Chen Ting both laughed.

It had been several days since cutting off Wang An, the stressor, in the classroom.

Chen Ting was facing her first consultation since that event.

And Nan Zhubin hoped it would be Chen Ting’s last consultation as well.

“How are you feeling now?”

Upon hearing Nan Zhubin’s question, Chen Ting smiled, “At least at school, it’s improved more than I can say.”

After that day, a student in the classroom had recorded everything on a phone.

The hysterical video of Wang An started spreading like a virus.

The righteous consultant stood up, the victim gathered the courage to face the demon, and the pretentious teacher broke down on the spot.

The short video contained almost all the elents of viral content, and so couldn’t be stopped.

There were indeed invisible forces trying to suppress the matter’s popularity, but the videos spread way too fast and wide.

Moreover, afterward, so parents of classmates stepped in.

Bear in mind, this is the law school of Jiang University, a place full of exceptionally talented students, and their families often have the capability to counter such invisible forces.

Even Chen Ting’s father was one of those able to contribute to the situation.

“Looking back now, everything seems easy to resolve,” Chen Ting smiled, sowhat relieved but also a little perplexed, “but at the ti, I just felt helpless, as if the sky was collapsing on .”

Even now, Chen Ting felt a bit unreal.

“Many tis, looking back makes everything seem easy,” Nan Zhubin comforted.

“But only by personally walking each step yourself can you understand how arduous it is and how hard it is to reach where you are now.”

Nan Zhubin habitually gave her so Positive Attention.

Chen Ting smiled after this comfort.

She corrected, “Not ‘I’, but ‘we’.

Without you, Mr.

Nan, I couldn’t have done anything.”

Chen Ting was overflowing with gratitude toward Nan Zhubin, evident in her words filled with visible excitent and enthusiasm.

However, Nan Zhubin, instead of celebrating as comrades, watched with a professional smile, guiding Chen Ting to gradually calm down.

Then he said, “If things are good enough, I hope today will be our last consultation.”

Chen Ting was taken aback.

This change in attitude clearly made Chen Ting a little uncomfortable.

At this mont, Nan Zhubin separated his “friend” role and reverted back to being a “consultant”.

This was a deliberate action by Nan Zhubin.

Because at this mont, Chen Ting’s state was beginning to fall towards another direction of consultation—Transference.

Transference is a term from the psychoanalytic school of psychological consultation, describing a strong emotional reaction the client develops towards the consultant, which usually originates from the client’s past feelings towards other important figures or matters in their life.

For instance, a client who has been cheated on might transfer feelings of love for their partner onto the consultant, resulting in feelings beyond friendship; or transfer feelings of hatred for the third party onto the consultant, resulting in unwarranted hatred.

Transference emotions vary, potentially being positive or negative, depending on the client and consultant.

But generally speaking, transference often has a negative impact on consultations.

For example, Chen Ting’s transference towards Nan Zhubin.

Due to a long lack of support from her family, allowing people like Wang An to exploit the situation, Chen Ting undoubtedly always needed a sense of security.

And it was at this ti that Nan Zhubin appeared, standing by her side to help her overco difficulties.

In typical consultations, just providing comfort, support, and Positive Attention can cause transference; not to ntion Nan Zhubin did so much more, making Chen Ting’s transference towards him too normal.

But regardless of what feelings Chen Ting currently has towards Nan Zhubin, for the smooth progress of the consultation, Nan Zhubin needs to curb this trend.

Nan Zhubin thought for a mont.

He asked, “Did you co alone today?”

Chen Ting shook her head, “No.”

This answer took Nan Zhubin by surprise.

Could it be Chen Ting’s mother accompanying her again?

“Who did you co with?”

“You should know, it’s Xia Tian.”
