Chapter 771: Chapter 656: Li Lingling’s Psychological Intervention (Part 3)
Li Lingling didn’t really know what kind of mood she was in when she said that sentence.
But it seed different from what she had thought before. So strange emotions, ones she didn’t know how to na, were rising from her heart.
Li Lingling temporarily suppressed these feelings and continued to comfort Niannian for a while.
Throughout the next day, Niannian occupied her thoughts—this had happened before because she felt an extra attachnt to this child she had personally protected at the settlent.
But today, she hadn’t realized that Niannian’s words carried extra weight in her heart.
That night, after work, Li Lingling had a strange dream.
In the dream, there was a corridor; the lights flickered on and off, and mottled shadows danced on the walls. The floor was covered with a thin layer of chill, resembling water, silently flowing past her feet.
She stood in the corridor, clutching an indistinct object in her palm, feeling slightly cool and with a blurry outline.
She felt that not far ahead, there seed to be a small figure squatting beside a hazy light spot, moving gently, and she couldn’t make out its specific posture. But it seed to be trembling, crying.
So, in the dream, she stepped forward, moving slowly step by step. When she reached the edge of the light spot, the object in her palm moved slightly, still unrecognizable.
Thinking of moving further, a thin mist rose, blocking the way. But she didn’t stop, continuing forward; the mist clung to her skin, without the sensation of cold moisture. Vaguely, a silhouette moved behind the mist, like the silhouette of an island, or shifting lights and shadows, always shrouded in a layer of haze, unclear.
Finally, when she wanted to move forward again, the entire space’s lights flickered twice, and she awoke from the dream.
During the day, after finishing her routine checks, Li Lingling could no longer hold back.
“Is Teacher Nan doing an intervention now?” She went straight to the dical isolation point and asked a familiar colleague.
The colleague, naturally aware of Nan Zhubin’s whereabouts, pointed Li Lingling in the right direction: “Teacher Nan hasn’t co over since finishing an intervention earlier; he should be in the lounge having a al now?”
Li Lingling went straight to the lounge and knocked on the door.
Knock, knock, knock—
With a click, the door opened, revealing Nan Zhubin’s face.
Following the door’s opening, Li Lingling slled the scent of food and saw a girl with a high ponytail and wearing a jacket inside the room.
She recognized her; if she rembered correctly, this girl also ca from Beidu, a legal aid volunteer previously arranged by Commander Zhou to work with Professor Bai’s project team.
Theoretically, this girl was also a colleague of Li Lingling, but back then, Li Lingling inexplicably felt uncomfortable, so they hadn’t communicated much, not very familiar.
At this mont, however, Li Lingling didn’t feel any other emotions; she had only one thought.
“Oh, it’s Lingling,” Nan Zhubin spoke first, “I was just about to find you. What’s up?”
“Teacher Nan, um… I ca over to ask if you rember Niannian?”
Li Lingling had also communicated with Nan Zhubin about the little girl’s situation.
“I rember, what’s going on?”
“Her mom is in isolation, doing psychological intervention,” Li Lingling asked cautiously, “I wanted to ask, approximately when can Niannian’s mom end her isolation? If possible… can Teacher Nan pay so extra attention? I’m not saying you aren’t attentive now…”
After saying that, Li Lingling felt a bit of regret; as a dical worker, she usually hated this kind of talk.
Nan Zhubin, however, smiled: “I was looking for you to talk about this too.”
Li Lingling heard Nan Zhubin say, “Niannian’s mom has a psychological intervention this afternoon. But I want you to do this intervention.”
