Who would study psychology unless they had some issues?! Chapter 818: 680: Differences Between EAP Psychological Cons
Capítulo 818: Chapter 680: Differences Between EAP Psychological Consultation and Traditional Psychological Consultation (Part 2)
“But Mr. Nan, there are quite a few of you. You might need to wait for two elevators. It’s peak ti now.”
Nan Zhubin nodded in gratitude.
Sure enough, two consecutive elevators were jam-packed, with people standing so close they were practically glued together, having to lift their laptop bags above their heads.
The group finally managed to get into an elevator, and when the doors opened on the 12th floor, they were engulfed by an even thicker atmosphere of tension.
The sound of keyboards clacking, business discussions, notification alerts from phones—these all rushed in at once.
The few team mbers selected from the company who were behind Nan Zhubin couldn’t help but show twisted expressions. Even during the peak post-holiday consultation periods, they weren’t as busy as the people in this office.
They really chose the right industry—or rather, the right boss.
Before the group had spent long in such an atmosphere, Shi Chuxin finally ca bustling in, slightly late.
Compared to the last ti she t the project group, Shi Chuxin was not as casual this ti. She had switched to a black professional suit and high heels.
This made her almost at eye level with Nan Zhubin—or even looking down at him.
“Zhuren, long ti no see. How was the exam?” Shi Chuxin greeted him familiarly, her gaze nonchalantly scanning the group behind Nan Zhubin. “Chonghui didn’t co?”
“Senior Brother is still busy finishing up a previous project—the one everyone was working on when you last visited the project group,” Nan Zhubin replied.
“Oh… is that so.”
Shi Chuxin’s tone revealed no emotion; she maintained the smile on her face, motioning for everyone to follow her. From the way she managed her emotions and facial expressions, it was evident she was from Bai Qinghua’s project group.
Of course, it could also be the result of long-term training in the professional environnt.
“I’ll take you to your office first. It was specially organized for this project and happens to be on the sa floor as us.”
Shi Chuxin smiled and led the way, with Nan Zhubin walking alongside her. Shi Chuxin occasionally engaged in conversation with Nan Zhubin, but instead of discussing the upcoming project work, she focused more on the project group:
“Is Sister Pingting still in Beidu? Will she possibly co over later?”
“When will Chonghui approximately arrive?”
“Is the teacher busy? How is his mood recently?”
Nan Zhubin answered one by one: “Sister is busy and mostly won’t co over; Senior Brother is also busy but might arrive in a couple of days; Teacher—I’m not sure if he’s busy or not…”
They walked through a relatively quiet section of the office area, where the seating was less dense. Occasionally, there were employees discussing issues, but their voices were kept gentle, and the sound of keyboards wasn’t as piercing as outside.
So familiar employees greeted Shi Chuxin as they passed by, casting curious glances toward Nan Zhubin’s group.
No… not just simple curiosity.
[This one… pupils slightly dilated, more whites of the eyes visible, gaze briefly skimming over us and then away.]
[This one… eyebrows raised, brows slightly furrowed, tail of the eyes slightly downward…]
[This one… flaring nostrils, muscles on either side of the mouth slightly tense, jawline tight.]
[And this one… chin slightly lifted, jawline tense, facial muscles stiff.]
Diverse reactions, but the overall emotion they conveyed had a certain commonality.
Nan Zhubin observed these micro expressions and stored them silently in his mory Palace.
What Mo Kai just said might be right—this really is a company in need of EAP.
Soon, they stopped in front of a room labeled “Employee Assistance Departnt.”
“This office is specifically activated for this project. I had soone clean it up in advance and set it up a bit too.”
Shi Chuxin opened the door, and Nan Zhubin followed her inside. The room was about 60 square ters, not spacious but sufficient for the desks, chairs, and simple furnishings needed for work.
By the door was an area resembling a reception desk. In the center was a long conference table, now set with cubicles, presumably to serve as team workstations.
Shi Chuxin pointed to the back of the office: “Nice, right? I even sectioned off two consultation rooms.”
Following Shi Chuxin’s pointed finger, Nan Zhubin saw two compartnts.
He quickly stepped inside, where the walls were covered with light grey wallpaper and basic soundproofing foam. The light-colored carpet on the floor slightly absorbed noise.
In each compartnt was a consultation desk in natural wood finish, two fabric chairs, and a small bookshelf in the corner with so psychology books and greenery.
It’s quite impressive to have arranged such a room within a software technology company.
“How is it?” she asked Nan Zhubin, seeming to anticipate admiration from her handso junior.
However.
Nan Zhubin frowned and said, “Senior Sister, the soundproofing isn’t quite sufficient.”
Shi Chuxin was caught off guard.
Nan Zhubin walked straight to the window in the consultation room and opened the blinds directly: “Look, Senior Sister, this window faces the office corridor. Occasionally, you can hear the footsteps of employees and the discussions from adjacent workstations.”
“And—”
Nan Zhubin drew the blinds down again: “See, even with the curtains down, you can still see vague shadows. Of course, from a practical perspective, outsiders can’t see us inside, but this could cause considerable anxiety for visitors…”
The other team mbers who had co with Nan Zhubin exchanged glances but said nothing.
On one hand, they didn’t have strong opinions on such ‘renovation’ issues. On the other hand, in an unfamiliar place, facing a forr student of the boss (teacher), they assud everything should unfold smoothly and amicably.
Hearing Nan Zhubin’s feedback, Shi Chuxin didn’t respond imdiately. Instead, she walked over to his side, mimicking his action, she focused and listened for a mont outside, then raised and lowered the blinds several tis.
After earnestly testing a few tis, she said, “Junior Brother, your concerns are indeed valid. But this doesn’t significantly disrupt EAP counseling. When I was in a foreign enterprise…”
Nan Zhubin was firm: “Senior Sister, the core premise of on-site EAP counseling is ‘physical environnt safety’ and ‘clear psychological boundaries.’ Soundproofing and private space are the foundation of ensuring the confidentiality principle of counseling.”
He paused, adding, “From the principles of EAP processes, confidentiality in counseling is the first step in establishing a trusting relationship. If the environnt doesn’t et standards, employees might conceal their real problems due to concerns about privacy breaches. We won’t be able to conduct effective counseling, and EAP services will only beco a formality, wasting company resources and failing to help employees.”
His response was quite firm, leaving Shi Chuxin montarily at a loss for counterargunts.
She looked back at the team mbers Nan Zhubin brought, and after a mont, she said, “Alright, if you insist, I’ll coordinate to see if the person in charge of the renovations can co over and take a look.”
“Thank you, Senior Sister,” Nan Zhubin responded smoothly, “We won’t be starting consultations so soon either. The first few days might just be in the data collection phase, so there’s no rush.”
Are we supposed to thank you for your consideration?
Shi Chuxin maintained her composure: “It won’t take too long to fix. Don’t worry…”
She then shifted the topic: “Besides getting you familiar with the environnt today, there are also so little details I want to sync up with you on. It’s not to limit you; I’m just worried about unnecessary troubles later, so I’ll give you a heads-up in advance.”
“Details?” Nan Zhubin raised an eyebrow, “Senior Sister, go ahead.”
“Regarding layoff decisions, salary disputes, company managent chanisms, let’s try not to delve too deep into these,” Shi Chuxin said, her voice unconsciously lowered.
