Capítulo 822: Chapter 682: Advanced Consultation (Part 2)

“What’s odd?” Nan Zhubin asked.

“The impression she gives is different from you, senior brother Chonghui, and senior sister Weng Pinting.” Mo Kai looked at Nan Zhubin, “If I saw her sowhere else, I wouldn’t think she was strange. But she ca out of Teacher Bai’s project group…”

Mo Kai pondered for a mont, and said, “What I’m saying may be hard for you to understand, senior brother—but the feeling she gives is quite similar to the people in my dad’s company.”

Mo Kai’s words were convoluted, but Nan Zhubin could barely grasp Mo Kai’s aning.

It felt like he was being complinted.

“Overall, she gives the impression of a normal professional person.” Mo Kai continued, “But just now she ca to you for consultation and suddenly seed a lot like a consultant again, sowhat similar to Teacher Bai’s students.”

“This constant changing… makes her seem even more odd to .”

Mo Kai hesitated, “Maybe…”

Nan Zhubin waved his hand, signaling Mo Kai to stop speaking.

Tap, tap, tap—

Shi Chuxin returned, wearing high heels, carrying the file of the visitor we talked about earlier. As she handed the file to Nan Zhubin, she chatted for a few monts before taking her leave again.

Mo Kai’s face showed an awkward expression of ‘almost getting caught talking behind soone’s back.’

“Anyway,” Nan Zhubin said as he opened the file with a smile, “As long as the visitor has needs, soone’s paying, and everything is compliant, the consultation must proceed.”

Mo Kai nodded in agreent to this response.

“I’ll go back and tidy up the agreents, and finish all the preparation work today. At the very least, it ensures you can conduct the consultation tomorrow, senior brother.”

Nan Zhubin nodded, “Thank you all.”

With Nan Zhubin, the project manager, scheduled for psychological consultation the next day, everyone’s work efficiency suddenly surged.

Not only were all the paper docunts and agreents signed, but Shi Chuxin even directly called in workers in the afternoon to modify the consultation room with soundproofing and privacy adjustnts according to Nan Zhubin’s request.

After so simple communication, the temporarily added consultation was scheduled for the next morning.

“Isn’t it a bit rushed?” Mo Kai raised a question.

Shi Chuxin replied, “This was strongly requested by the visitor.”

Nan Zhubin didn’t have much to say, and naturally, everyone else remained silent.

And the next day, besides adding a consultation, there was another change in the team.

—————–

Chonghui crossed his arms, surveying the EAP office’s setup.

After a while, he nodded in satisfaction, “Chuxin knows how to take care of her own. I’ve done EAP projects before, and this environnt is among the best.”

Although his muscles appeared sowhat loose due to consecutive nights of staying up, it added to Chonghui’s visual intensity in a certain sense.

He circled around the office like a panda inspecting its territory, then said to Nan Zhubin, “From today on, I’m officially stationed here—the person in charge is still you—though you have consultations this morning, right?”

“Correct.” Nan Zhubin replied, without looking up as he flipped through the files.

“Just like you…” Chonghui mumbled softly, “Then I’ll handle the preliminary data screening tasks, just like when we worked on projects at Jiangdu High School—you focus on the consultations, but—”

Chonghui emphasized, “After finishing the consultation, you also need to pay attention to other areas, as a way of learning new knowledge at work.”

Nan Zhubin agreed with a nod.

Then he picked up a pen and began organizing his intervention strategy on an A4 sheet.

At the top of the sheet was the visitor’s situation, summarized briefly from the files yesterday.

[Na: Chen Lizhou,

Position: Technical Sales Director.

Visitor’s Complaint: Wife passed away, feeling sad, family relations drain energy.

Work Performance: No late arrivals or early departures, more overti but decreased efficiency; colleagues report increased communication issues.

Preliminary Assessnt and Intervention Suggestion: Decline in adapting to work due to wife’s passing, accompanied by family tension; abnormal emotional expression but refusal to engage in in-depth communication.

…]

It’s brief, but that’s all the file offers for reference.

“I’ll go prepare in the consultation room now.” Nan Zhubin greeted the others.

The rest of the team responded.

Everyone went about their tasks.

The woman sitting at the front desk felt a bit nervous, having put on a more refined makeup today compared to yesterday.

She didn’t wait to take a deep breath to adjust her state.

Knock, knock, knock—

The door suddenly knocked.

Everyone in the office instantly quieted down.

“Co in.”

Click—

A man, looking to be in his thirties, appeared before everyone.

He looked around the EAP office curiously, frowning when he saw how many people were inside.

“Hello, may I ask…” The front desk woman’s voice was a bit hesitant.

“I scheduled a consultation this morning—EAP, here, right?” The man said, “The teacher I booked is surnad Nan.”

The woman at the front desk opened her mouth slightly, “Yes, but this morning’s consultation should start in fifteen minutes…”

Before the man could react, Mo Kai had already stepped forward.

He positioned himself between the front desk woman and the man, occupying the man’s full view: “Hello, are you Mr. Chen?”

“Yes, it’s . Do I have to wait?”

“We have an Inford Consent Form here that needs your signature first.” Mo Kai said as he shifted body positions, “You can have a look at the contents of the form first, and I’ll confirm the consultation details with the consultant teacher.”

As Mo Kai finished speaking, he circled around his workstation, returning with the Inford Consent Form and a black ballpoint pen, handing them to the visitor.

“Alright.” The visitor nodded.

He sat down following Mo Kai’s indication, tidied his sleeve, and unbuttoned his cuff.

His eyes swiftly scanned the Inford Consent Form, understood the general content, and then looked closely for a second ti, followed by a third.

“Mr. Chen, you can begin the consultation now.”

When Mo Kai returned, the man nodded and finally signed “Chen Lizhou” at the lower-right corner of the docunt, handing it back.

Then he followed Mo Kai to the consultation room door with big strides.

Knock, knock, knock—

“Co in.”

Nan Zhubin observed the visitor.

He wore a dark gray tailored slim-fit suit with sharp shoulders and black leather shoes.

The attire was very formal but relatively comfortable.

Though Nan Zhubin wasn’t familiar with suit brands, judging by the fit, it seed custom-made.

“Hello.”

The visitor sat down by himself, greeting Nan Zhubin first.

“Hello, Chen Lizhou, correct?” Nan Zhubin offered a professional smile.

“Yes.”

“My na is Nan Zhubin; you can call Teacher Nan.”

The visitor adjusted his cuffs and rebuttoned the button he had undone, “Hello, Teacher Nan.”

A very procedural greeting.

The visitor sat comfortably, his back resting on the chair; it did not appear relaxed, as his back maintained a straight line.

It felt like he was attending a governnt-business project eting.

Although the visitor was the first to greet, he fell into silence after exchanging nas.

Nan Zhubin waited for three breaths, confirming the visitor seed not inclined to speak, and prepared to initiate the process—

“Teacher Nan, I’ve co for an EAP consultation.” Chen Lizhou suddenly said.

Nan Zhubin nodded without speaking.

“I’ll briefly explain my situation.”

The visitor didn’t pause; once he started speaking, everything naturally flowed like water.

“My wife passed away three months ago, cancer.”

“I am very sad, but I’ve been trying hard to adjust, not wanting my personal emotions to affect work.” The visitor said, “But recently, the two software projects I’m handling have been delayed, and paynts have been postponed, which may lead to misunderstandings by the leadership. They feel my life may be affecting my work so they’ve talked to several tis.”
