Who would study psychology unless they had some issues?! Chapter 853 698: The Consultation Is About to Begin
Taking out her phone, Shi Chuxin found the chat window marked as [Chen Lizhou], clicked in, and sent a ssage.
After receiving a reply, she went downstairs and waited at the company lobby.
After the company lobby's electronic clock passed eleven o'clock, a while passed.
Chen Lizhou finally arrived, albeit a bit late.
Shi Chuxin saw Chen Lizhou, and naturally, Chen Lizhou saw Shi Chuxin. Despite the unusual act of soone from ER waiting for him specifically in the company lobby, Chen Lizhou's face remained normal.
He simply explained his behavior, "Sorry, I slept too late last night."
Shi Chuxin blinked and repeated, "Slept too late?"
This is a seasoned employee in the workplace, the company's sales director.
Chen Lizhou nodded, "Slept too late, so I didn't hear the alarm this morning."
Shi Chuxin felt sothing was not quite right, but recalling her plan, she didn't delve into this small episode. She just took a deep breath and said, "Director Chen, shall we talk about work first?"
...
The two of them went to Chen Lizhou's office.
Sunlight filtered through the blinds, creating a pattern of light and shadow on the desk.
Shi Chuxin seed to be waiting for sothing. But seeing that Chen Lizhou had no intention of getting up, she stiffened her face, and tentatively got up to pour two cups of water from the office water dispenser, placing one in front of herself and the other in front of Chen Lizhou.
Then she glanced at Chen Lizhou's expression.
No reaction from him at all.
This guy seed off. At this mont, Shi Chuxin felt a bit uneasy and started to question Nan Zhubin's assessnt of the severity of the psychological problems of the person in front of her.
"Director Chen, I wonder if you've been feeling better lately," Shi Chuxin tentatively began, "My apprentice should have had a chat with you, right? Don't be fooled by his youth, he has ample experience in handling such things... What do you think of him?"
Chen Lizhou did not respond imdiately.
As if stunned for a mont, he said, "Teacher Nan is quite good. Also... thank you for caring about recently."
Chen Lizhou's family had undergone dramatic changes, which was not a secret amongst the company's HR and ER circles.
Initially, it was Shi Chuxin who recomnded Chen Lizhou to go to Nan Zhubin, effectively jumping the queue.
Shi Chuxin thought for a mont, then tentatively asked again, "Director Chen, have you been having trouble sleeping lately?"
"It's alright. Last night was due to so other matters."
The answer remained brief.
Shi Chuxin gritted her teeth and finally decided to trust Nan Zhubin, saying, "Here's the thing, Director Chen, you're aware of our departnt's—or rather, the company's main task lately."
"Business structure adjustnt," Shi Chuxin enunciated, "In plain terms, it's 'personnel optimization.'
"Shifting resources to core businesses, trimming positions with inadequate adaptability." Saying this, Shi Chuxin placed the folder from the HR director in front of her chest.
The subsequent explanation was essentially redundant. In the workplace, everyone knew what 'personnel optimization' implied.
Naturally, Chen Lizhou didn't react to this, and Shi Chuxin wasn't surprised either.
She said to herself, "Director Chen, you know, this morning our departnt happened to gather all the departnt heads to convey the latest plans. But since you weren't there, I'm now specifically discussing this with you. If you have any suggestions, I'll promptly relay them."
Saying this, Shi Chuxin tapped the folder in her hand.
Still no reaction from Chen Lizhou.
"I know, Director Chen, that you care for your subordinates. I heard from our boss that every ti we had similar tasks in the past, you'd manage to block them. And the sales departnt has indeed been the mainstay of our company, therefore—"
Looking at Chen Lizhou, Shi Chuxin continued, "Whenever we had personnel optimization tasks before, the sales departnt always managed to co through unscathed."
This was the truth.
Shi Chuxin kept an eye on Chen Lizhou's reaction, initially expecting him to display so emotion.
For a widowed husband, even if Chen Lizhou was ruthless, no matter how much he suppressed his emotions ordinarily, during such aggressive and confrontational dialogue, there should be so fluctuation.
Either feeling proud of past achievents or sensing Shi Chuxin's underlying hostility and responding with defensiveness and rejection.
But Shi Chuxin saw nothing on Chen Lizhou's face.
This was vastly different from what Shi Chuxin had anticipated.
However, at this point, Shi Chuxin was compelled to act.
She had spent considerable effort focusing on Chen Lizhou's ntal health, frequently consulting with Nan Zhubin about Chen Lizhou's situation, and this morning, she specifically took on the task others avoided from the HR director.
All for this mont.
"But Director Chen, you must also understand that things are different now. Our company has nurous long-term partners, and it's reached a stage where stability is prioritized, no longer as eager for external expansion."
"Moreover, as far as I know, the core clients are personally overseen by you and several directors, the stable cooperative relationships have been firmly established, and the mid-to-low-level sales are rely handling docunt transfers and basic liaison work."
"To put it simply, this ti, the optimization is unavoidable for the sales departnt."
Still, no reaction from Chen Lizhou.
He rely sat upright in his seat, not touching the cup of water Shi Chuxin had poured, simply eting Shi Chuxin's gaze.
Shi Chuxin felt that Chen Lizhou's composure was truly impressive; she braced herself and controlled her expression, saying, "Director Chen, I might as well let you in on this. This ti, the optimization is unavoidable for the sales departnt. Even the director level... is under consideration."
