Capítulo 884: Chapter 713: Hysterical [Regression]_2

“Don’t resist the images that erge in your mind, don’t suppress the voice in your heart.”

“You can try to look at the scene before you, look at the person who stood shoulder to shoulder with you back then, and try to say the words you never spoke, express the feelings you have kept hidden and dared not speak.”

“—I’m here with you, it’s very safe.”

Inhale—exhale—

One breath, two breaths, three breaths.

Inhale—exhale—inhale—exhale—

With the naked eye, the speed of Director Xing’s nostrils flaring started to increase.

Soon after, a circle of redness began to spread from the corners of his eyes until it enveloped his entire eye socket.

Too fast.

Director Xing’s eyelids twitched, his brows furrowed unconsciously, and his lip corners tightened, pressing down hard.

He’s in the zone.

Nan Zhubin said softly, “We can try calling that person by the na you’re most familiar with.”

Director Xing let out an almost inaudible murmur, filled with a heavy nasal tone and inaudible sobbing, “Old Qian, he’s Old Qian…”

Nan Zhubin nodded, “That’s right, just like that, call out to him, tell him, slowly say all the words that went unsaid.”

The four volunteers who hadn’t participated yet were closest to Nan Zhubin and felt all of this most directly.

Watching Director Xing’s current reaction, their expressions were like they’d seen a ghost.

A faint whimpering sound erged from Director Xing’s throat, and his shoulders began to tremble slightly.

“I… I’m sorry…”

A few seconds later, Director Xing’s breath was completely broken by intermittent sobs, and the trembling of his shoulders increased in intensity.

“The project… the project was too demanding, I knew nothing, it was you… it was you who stayed up late with every night, helping , shielding from those people…”

The trembling of his shoulders grew more intense, his entire body followed with large movents, his back arched slightly as if a huge pain prevented him from standing upright.

“I actually… felt it, I could tell from your increasingly wrong complexion…”

The redness around his eyes finally gathered to an extre, beginning to spread across his entire face.

Along with it, two streams of tears began to trickle down his cheeks, dripping onto his collar, creating patches of wet stains.

This nearly forty-year-old R&D director, cried.

Nan Zhubin gently nodded, “I heard that, continue speaking, when you saw him growing increasingly unwell, what were you thinking in your heart? What did you want to do?”

At that mont, Director Xing’s face suddenly twitched twice.

“I knew… but I thought, maybe it was nothing… I worried that if you stopped, I would have to work more overti, I was worried I couldn’t manage the project…”

“So I didn’t urge you to rest… I even hoped you would work more overti so the project would end sooner…”

“I could tell you were off… but I thought it wouldn’t be an issue… I believed that once the project ended, everything would be okay…”

“I… boo…”

He was no longer just crying; he began to cry loudly.

Nan Zhubin also understood sothing in his heart.

During the narration just now, Director Xing indeed hid so things under his defense.

Before the veteran referred to as “Old Qian” collapsed, Director Xing seed to believe he could have prevented it all.

But out of consideration for himself, he did nothing.

As a result, after it ended in disaster, he felt particularly severe guilt and even a sense of betrayal.

This makes more sense now, this is the core of Director Xing’s obsession with this unfinished event.

And after revealing this psychology, Director Xing’s ntal defense was completely crushed.

He went from crying to bawling, and within a minute, it escalated to an even more intense level than just simply shouting.

How many people have witnessed the genuine, unrestrained crying of infants?

Usually, it can be described with one word—hysteria.

Director Xing let out a piercing scream.

He seed to want to shout until his throat burst, with the sound reverberating in the eting room. He fiercely lowered his head, buried his face deeply into his arms, tightly hugged his head, gripping his hair so hard that his fingernails almost embedded into his scalp.

His shoulders were heaving violently, his entire body spasming uncontrollably, his legs unwittingly curling into the chair, as if trying to escape a terrifying scene, yet finding nowhere to hide.

Occasionally, he would mutter a few indistinct phrases from his arm, as if speaking, or perhaps talking to himself: “I can’t help you… I’m very scared…”

“I, I, I… I wanted to let you rest… I wanted to accompany you to the hospital to see a doctor…”

“But I didn’t dare… I was afraid the leadership would say I delayed the project, I was afraid you would say I was ddling, I even… even thought you were just tired and a few days of rest would be fine…”

“When you… when you fainted, I was dumbfounded… I watched the ambulance take you away, I stood there, couldn’t move at all…”

“I, I didn’t dare to follow to the hospital, I was afraid of seeing you lying there motionless, and I was more afraid… more afraid you would bla … I…”

At this point, Director Xing couldn’t even utter a complete sentence.

His hysterical cries continued to fernt.

Tears mixed with snot trickled down, dripping onto his lapel, soaking a large area of his shirt in front, yet he was completely oblivious, just continued to cry loudly and scream.

The people below the stage were utterly stunned.

They were dumbfounded by Director Xing’s shockingly intense cries at that mont.

“This level of regression…” Chonghui murmured in admiration, shaking his head uncontrollably, “Most consultants might never encounter such a case in their entire career.”
