Chapter 125: Wind: Why Has My Ho Been Demolished?

Several pitch-black chains billowed with dense black smoke, as though gradually tainting the boundless clouds.

In an instant, black smoke spilled out from the white clouds and began climbing ceaselessly toward the sky.

The enormous black Formation that had materialized beneath Viktor's feet was completely swallowed by that smoke.

The chains kept contracting, locking tight around the great bird's throat.

"God of sinful dark thoughts, submission shall be stripped from my hands—"

"Sacred beast of a thousand purities, fall into silence—"

As the incantation was recited in a asured cadence, the body beneath Viktor's coat seed to be wrapped by dark souls, one layer after another, forming sothing like dense, heavy armor.

The great bird thrashed its wings frantically, trying to break free, but earned only deeper encroachnt and further tightening in return.

Its body was wound around and around by endless chains, until it beca one enormous black iron cocoon.

Shortly after, several cryptic Runes floated around the chains, carved into their surface.

Boom! Boom!

2 fierce reverberations burst between the Runes, colliding with each other.

The white Runes began to writhe as though coming to life, burrowing deep into the great bird's body through the gaps between the iron chains.

Shhhk!

In an instant, the great bird's body erupted from the iron cocoon as streams of white air current, bursting outward.

Following the chains, they transford into Rune-like engravings that lded into Viktor's coat.

Along the collar and hem of the coat, several white, trembling, mysterious Runes slowly appeared, radiating a powerful energy without cease.

The mont the great bird dispersed entirely, the sky seed to be thoroughly tainted by the black smoke, turning impossibly dark.

The white clouds appeared to begin fracturing and crumbling—voids in the sky ford into black vortexes one after another, steadily drawing in pillars and clouds alike.

The great stone pillars underfoot suddenly began to shake violently, and the fragnts chipping off told Viktor this was no place to linger.

The Temple's guardian itself served as an energy source sustaining the very existence of the Temple.

If the guardian were slain within the Temple, over a long accumulation of ti, the concentrated Magic Power could reforge the guardian's body.

But the mont the guardian beast was forcibly removed from the Temple—

That ant the divine power of the entire Temple would be stripped away.

At this mont, the entire Temple swayed on the verge of collapse, as though it would crumble at any second.

Weija stood on Viktor's shoulder, seeming entirely unsurprised.

Viktor tucked his hands into his pockets, his expression not changing in the slightest amid the tremors. He turned and walked at a leisurely pace toward the open door of the trial ground.

And as he departed, the trial ground shattered completely—the pillars crumbling into dust.

Nothing remained but an endless black void that slowly expanded, swallowing the sky along with it.

***

Up on the Extre Northern Ice Plains, at so unknown point, a crowd of Savage Beasts had gathered.

Red-furred Savage Beasts huddled together, crying out in strange, sharp tones.

Facing them stood a group of Savage Beasts with blue beards and coiling muscles.

In their hands they raised an enormous blue banner.

On the banner were painted 2 battle axes, as though embedded in ice.

That was the symbol of the Glacial Fang.

The red Savage Beasts and the blue Savage Beasts faced off against each other, and beneath their feet lay the bodies of Savage Beasts who had possessed qualifications.

Their bodies had long since gone rigid, flesh mangled and bloodied, their limbs as though snapped, the manner of their deaths utterly wretched.

It was precisely the existence of these Temple Qualifiers that had enabled this horde of Savage Beasts to arrive at this most northerly stretch of the Extre Northern Ice Plains.

The Savage Beasts of both tribes gripped their weapons and tore at their throats, howling into the blizzard.

Not far away, on an isolated snow island, several Mage-soldiers whose outlines had turned transparent lay flat against the snowfield, watching the scene before them.

The sight of both sides of Savage Beasts arrayed against each other filled them with a rush of excitent.

"So many Savage Beasts all piled in one spot, hiss…"

"With a single Natural Disaster, wouldn't we be able to catch them all in one sweep?"

"They don't seem to have their guard up at all—why don't we notify the General now and have the War Magic prepared in advance?"

They exchanged quiet words among themselves. However, they had not noticed Viktor's presence.

The position the female Knight had ntioned was supposed to be right here.

The only thing left unchecked was that strange white palace on the frozen sea in the distance.

Could Viktor be in there?

Still puzzling it over, the Temple suddenly erupted in a violent tremor.

Without warning, a powerful shockwave spread outward from the surging sea surface, reaching a hundred miles in every direction.

The entire snowfield plunged into a ferocious earthquake.

Several fissures appeared across the snowfield, and seawater poured into them in one great torrent.

The Savage Beasts locked in confrontation on the snowfield imdiately flattened themselves against it, fighting to keep their footing.

Several Savage Beasts who reacted too slowly couldn't hold their ground and tumbled into the Frozen Ocean, swept by the current down into the depths.

From within the Temple, what seed like a muffled roar of fury erupted—a violent storm abruptly tore across the surface of the sea.

The Savage Beasts couldn't help but direct every gaze toward the collapsing Temple.

Perhaps to appease the divine wrath, they dropped to the ground as one and began kowtowing in earnest, begging for rcy.

Yet the Temple did not stop trembling on account of their fear—the enormous earthquake pulsed outward in wave after wave across the endless snowfield.

The accumulated snow, shaken without stop, kept collapsing and bursting upward.

Like an imnse beast of ice and snow suddenly stirring to life on this barren earth, only to tumble helplessly into the abyss.

Then, all at once—

A violent white light erupted from within the Temple, shooting straight toward the heavens.

Everything around it seed to lose all color.

Between sky and earth, only that streak of blinding white remained.

……

Beneath that terrifying tremor, even the mbers of the Pallid Mage Society ca to a halt.

Vladimir stared at the white light piercing the overcast sky, brow creased.

He could feel from it an incomparably dense volu of Magic Power.

This Magic Power was absolutely not sothing a human could possess.

"What in the world is that?"

The white light seed to be guiding them—mixed through the raging snow, a boundless gale cut against their faces like a blade.

No one could answer Vladimir's question.

Beneath this awe-inspiring spectacle, every person present felt a profound, bone-deep pressure bearing down on them.

Erika's expression jolted—as though she had realized sothing. Her eyes fixed straight ahead in the distance, feeling the ferocious storm tearing at her body, letting her clothes whip and thrash as they would.

But quickly……

A silver-white figure, like a streak of light, shot in a flash toward the source of that white radiance.

Like a silver blade, carrying an unyielding will, charging without a mont's hesitation straight at the terrifying pillar of smoke and fire that stabbed the sky.

In Erika's eyes, Gwen's silhouette remained for barely an instant.

And then she had already vanished from the crowd.

"……"

Erika stood there slightly dazed. Vladimir likewise watched Gwen's departing figure and exhaled a puff of white breath.

"Looks like we don't need to wait for the scouts ahead to report back, lads."

The mont those words were spoken, the mbers of the Pallid Mage Society surged with energy as though electrified.

Every one of them straightened their backs, restless fire flickering in their eyes.

Vladimir rolled his wrist, and from within his gauntlet, an enormous ice battleaxe materialized in an instant.

He shouldered it and let a smile cross his face, growling in satisfaction:

"Ti to give those mongrels a lesson in blood."

***

The Extre Northern Ice Plains had been reduced to a state of utter ruin.

The fractured, shattered snowfield was lashed by a ferocious storm that cut like spikes.

As the white light faded into ebbing streams of air, the surface of the sea slowly dissolved into gale after gale of hurricane winds that scattered in every direction across the snowfield.

Countless Savage Beasts still knelt in place, unable to stop their prayers, even as their foreheads knocked against the ice hard enough to draw blood—none daring to stop.

Without anyone quite noticing, a hoarse voice slowly rose among the Savage Beasts.

Strangely, though, they could sohow understand the aning concealed within that strange language.

"I don't recall ever having a bunch of believers like this."

A crow opened its beak, its single eye filled with complete and utter contempt.

It stood on Viktor's shoulder, ruffling its feathers, looking down with an air of superiority at those ignorant Savage Beasts.

Viktor had both hands tucked in his coat pockets, standing quietly atop a block of ice, watching the panicking Savage Beasts.

He could feel it.

The towering, boundless fury radiating from this horde.

Perhaps it was because what they had taken for a divine miracle turned out to produce Viktor—giving rise to a kind of absurd, seething rage.

Or perhaps it was because the enemy who had slaughtered nearly half their kin had now appeared before their very eyes.

Whatever the reason, the mont they lifted their heads and laid eyes on Viktor—

They could no longer contain the rage within them.

"Wuuwuu wahwah!"

The Savage Beasts' eyes were shot through with bloodshot veins, and the red fur covering their bodies, as though receiving a blessing of life, transford into fla burning without cease.

The leaping fire gradually devoured their bodies entirely, turning them into pure energy constructs.

They let out howls of fury toward the sky, their voices rolling out across the entire shattered snowfield.

"Berserkers."

Viktor looked at the enraged Savage Beasts and uttered those words in an even tone.

When rage reached its extre, the Savage Beasts would attain a final, terrifying power—a despair hidden deep within the wildness.

They had completely lost their reason. The drool baring past their teeth vanished instantly, evaporated by the flas covering their bodies.

They swung fla-wreathed weapons that seed to fuse as one with their blazing bodies.

Viktor's expression showed nothing. A red Formation appeared abruptly in his palm.

The patterns wound around each other, and a mass of fla gathered ceaselessly in his hand.

He had intended to incinerate every enemy before him in a single blaze.

But suddenly, a silver-white figure cut into his field of vision.

Viktor's eyebrow rose slightly.

Though clad in heavy armor, the silver Knight moved swiftly and gracefully, weaving past the surging Savage Beasts, arriving before Viktor.

A longsword flashed out in an instant, piercing straight through the heart of a Berserker that had co charging at Viktor.

Fatal Strike!

The blade was drawn out, and blood burst from the sword edge. The Berserker's consciousness collapsed in an instant.

The flas burning across its body had barely had a mont to rage—its senseless body plunged into the cold silence of the Frozen Ocean.

Gwen's appearance brought every Savage Beast to a standstill.

The other Berserkers stared at the silver Knight who had cut so suddenly into their midst, and felt a strange, creeping fear.

She gave her longsword a sharp fling across the snowfield—scalding blood splattered across the ice plain.

Even the stubborn ice lted a little.

She stood proudly before Viktor, facing the countless Savage Beasts, her voice cool and clear.

"This ti."

"I found you first."
