Chapter 143: Effectively Sterilizing the Entire Elven Race

The white light before her eyes gradually faded. Resi lifted her gaze, and what greeted her was an endless Sea of Flowers.

Butterflies and bees danced continuously over the vivid blossoms, and the garden paths were blanketed in petals of every color.

A breeze thick with the fragrance of flowers tickled the tip of her nose.

"This place is….."

Resi stared at the Sea of Flowers before her, a little dazed.

It felt like being back in the lush, blooming thickets of the forest.

She could tell this Sea of Flowers was tended to regularly.

Viktor had told her she would find the person she was looking for here.

Could it be—the Elven Queen was actually here?

Resi glanced around as she walked, stepping lightly along the garden path, treading gently over the petals as she made her way deeper into the Sea of Flowers.

She walked and walked—and then, an unfamiliar presence drifted toward her from within the Sea of Flowers.

Resi felt a wave of alarm and quickly ducked behind a flower bed.

She extended her head, peering over the tall wall of blossoms.

Resi spotted a young girl tending to the flowers within the Sea of Flowers.

She was carrying a watering can, walking cheerfully into the Sea of Flowers.

One hand held a pair of scissors, snipping away at excess flower buds one after another, while the watering can sprayed a fine mist over the blossoms.

A long black robe seed to envelop her figure, yet the warm sunlight refracted through the glistening water droplets and fell upon her rosy cheeks, making her appear all the more radiant and lively.

Resi kept only her eyes above the flowerbed, watching the girl from afar, trembling faintly.

This……what on earth was this place?

Why were there humans here?

Could it be…..Her Majesty the Queen…..had been imprisoned by humans?!

A terrifying thought suddenly flashed through Resi's mind, sending her heart thumping wildly.

She didn't even notice that she had absent-mindedly crushed several flower buds to pieces in her grip.

The girl seed to sense sothing and turned her head, looking in Resi's direction.

Resi imdiately shrank down, curled herself into a ball, and buried her face between her knees.

'Please don't see ……please don't see ……'

Perhaps her silent prayer was answered—the surroundings fell so quiet that the only sound was her own heartbeat.

Seeing that the other person didn't seem to have noticed her, Resi opened her eyes and looked around.

Only then did she let out a sigh of relief.

But right at that mont, sothing soft bumped into her back.

Resi felt her body go rigid. She raised her head.

The sunlight above seed to be blocked out, as though a cloud had passed over it.

A shadow gradually enveloped her.

She was startled and wanted to turn around to see what it was.

But the anxiety knotted deep inside her wouldn't let her turn her head, and her limbs refused to budge.

Just then.

From behind her, ca a soft, syrupy voice.

"Hey, you there—turn around."

"You dare sneak in here and act like I don't exist?"

The mont the voice rang out, Resi felt the hair all over her body stand on end, and only 1 thought remained in her head.

She had been discovered! She was going to get caught!

"Nooo……don't catch , don't catch ……"

She hurriedly cried out, slowly and stiffly rotating her body around.

She lifted her head. Their eyes t.

Viktor had been right.

She really had found the person she wanted to see.

The mont she laid eyes on the other party, Resi froze slightly, rooted to the spot.

Cocotte sat on her cloud, and she too had caught sight of Resi's long pointed ears.

"Hm?"

"Huh?"

Cocotte's mouth dropped open as she sat on her cloud, montarily stunned.

Her expression stiffened a few degrees as well. Then, as if she'd finally processed what was happening, she abruptly clapped both hands over her own ears and buried her head into the cloud.

And then shouted at the top of her lungs.

"Soone co! Soone co quickly!"

"There's an intruder who snuck into the garden! Catch her!! "

The trendous shout, charged with dense natural energy, rang out across the entire garden.

Resi instantly fell into a panic.

She tried to stand up—but her body could no longer move.

Suddenly, Resi sharply noticed the green Magic Formation flickering beneath her feet.

Countless green vines wrapped around her completely, continuously draining the Magic Power from her body.

A wave of weakness washed over her. Resi instantly realized she had been restrained by Magic!

This was only a 2nd-Tier Magic Formation—under normal circumstances, Resi could break free of it effortlessly.

Yet this 2nd-Tier Magic Formation was inexplicably complex.

As though it were woven together from countless intricate, interlacing Magic Patterns.

Clearly the Magic Power was only of a simple 2nd-Tier level, yet the complexity rivaled that of a 3rd-Tier spell.

Most critically, Resi was no Mage.

She had no way to instantly dispel the Magic.

At last, the caster of the restraining Magic revealed herself.

Heni stepped out from behind the flower wall.

Her expression was grave, and invisible Magic Power swirled around her.

Countless Patterns began to link between several Formations, taking the shape of Elf-like totems, while Runes along the edges of the Magic Formation continued to carve out intricate markings.

"Who are you?"

Resi opened her mouth—but not a single word ca out.

A Silencing Spell!

And the strength of this Silencing Spell was absolutely beyond anything a 2nd-Tier Mage human could manage.

The answer ca to Resi's mind in an instant.

She turned her head. With eyes full of confusion and disappointnt, she looked toward the Elf who wouldn't even dare lift her head out of the cloud.

Your Majesty, why must you do this?

"Quickly! Heni! I've already used a Silencing Spell to suppress her! Hurry up and grab her!"

"Otherwise she'll chant so incredibly powerful Magic!"

Hearing Cocotte's voice, Heni's expression grew even more solemn.

So she hadn't managed to stop her—this person who had sohow slipped in was incredibly dangerous.

Even Cocotte couldn't stop her!

She stopped overthinking it. Magic Power surged around her body.

The incantation ca flowing from her lips.

"Spreading verdure, entwining shackles of heaven, sealed within the creeping vine."

As the chant slowly unfurled, the flower petals beneath Heni's feet began to lift and spiral into the air.

A great windstorm rose from the ground and swirled upward, gradually sweeping through the entire garden.

"Prelude of life, barring the path of the living, whispered proclamations amidst purgatory."

All the flowers began to tremble, one after another. Streams of green energy poured forth from the blossoms and gathered toward Heni's chest as she floated above.

"Seal bound with runes, ancient tree takes form, locked fast within the temple of the marshland."

An extraordinarily dense orb of green Magic Power began to expand continuously in the sky.

Heni stood at the center of the storm of flower petals, as though the surrounding flower beds were channeling astonishing Magic Power into her.

Her amber-yellow eyes shimred with a soft green radiance, and the vines around her thrashed wildly as if they had thrown off all restraint.

Resi was held immobile on the spot, unable to speak.

She watched as the vines rose higher and higher, slowly eclipsing the sun—and she shook her head over and over.

In her eyes, a glimr of tears seed to appear.

Yet Heni simply watched her, and said without any rcy:

"I won't hurt you."

"But you need to be temporarily restrained. I need to know why you infiltrated this place."

【2nd-Tier Magic: Fantastic Cage of the Nature Spirit】

The words had barely fallen when that terrifyingly powerful Magic erupted in an instant.

Endless vines, as if transford into countless shackles and chains, ca pouring toward Resi all at once.

In that sa mont, as Resi stared at those relentlessly surging wooden vines, only 1 thought remained in her mind.

What the hell, this is 2nd-Tier??

Yet almost in the very instant the Magic was about to make contact with Resi.

A figure materialized from within the blue light and appeared before her.

He had both hands in his pockets, without even making any deliberate effort to block.

Before him, only a simple Magic Power barrier was conjured.

The enormous Magic Power extended countless branches, and against that barrier, it stopped every last one of those endless vines.

The vines gradually dissolved into wisps of Magic Power, which flowed along the barrier and slowly dispersed in all directions.

In the end, it was as though nothing had happened at all.

And slowly faded away.

The mont the Magic vanished, Heni blinked in slight bewildernt.

Then, the instant she recognized the person before her, her amber-yellow eyes went wide, and she cried out in delighted surprise.

"Professor!"

The blue barrier gradually shattered. The fierce wind slowly stilled. Viktor's Coat, which had been billowing and tossing in the wind, drifted gently back down.

He looked at Heni, and said with a mild, approving tone:

"Not bad Magic."

"It seems my absence these past few days has not caused you to neglect your practice."

Having received the Professor's acknowledgnt, Heni felt a surge of satisfaction wash over her at once.

She stood where she was, grinning to herself with a goofy, happy smile.

Viktor didn't continue paying attention to Heni. He turned around and pressed 1 finger against Resi.

That complex, unyielding restraining Magic instantly dissolved into scattered sparks of light, dispersing into the air.

Resi could speak again, and she could move again.

But what she had just experienced was sothing this timid little Elf would never be able to forget.

Her voice trembling on the edge of tears, she crouched down on the ground in fright.

"Waaaah……wuh wuh wuh……"

Having taken care of all of this, Viktor shifted his gaze back to Cocotte.

This Elven Queen, who had no intention whatsoever of taking responsibility for her own kin—who had even instigated Heni to restrain a mber of her own race—needed to receive a lesson.

Sensing that the ga was up, Cocotte hastily urged her cloud to move and prepared to flee the scene.

Only to hear Viktor's utterly indifferent voice ring out.

"If you leave right now, I'll blow that cloud of yours into cotton fluff."

The cloud froze on the spot. No matter how Cocotte urged it, it didn't dare move so much as half a ter.

Cocotte's body stiffened. She couldn't help but turn her head around.

One hand scratched the back of her head, her tongue poked out, and one eye was shut for good asure.

The very picture of soone begging to be smacked.

"Ehehe?"

……

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry!"

Heni was bowing so rapidly it seed like she might snap herself in half at the waist.

Unfortunately, her proportions wouldn't allow for that—she'd bump into her own knees.

Resi sat across from her, arms wrapped around her legs. Her head slowly lifted, red-rimd eyes still glistening with crystal teardrops.

Like soone who had shut down entirely, she didn't want to say a single word.

Cocotte sat on her cloud, the very image of soone who had nothing to do with any of this. Leah noticed and couldn't help casting her a sidelong glance.

"And you call yourself the Elven Queen?"

"Your own kin cos to find you, and your first instinct is to shout for soone to haul her away."

Cocotte's conscience pricked a little. Her gaze darted wildly off to one side.

"I just……didn't recognize her at first……"

"Even if you didn't recognize her, that's no reason to use Magic on her, is it? Does she look like soone with any combat capability to you?"

Leah said, rolling her eyes helplessly.

For so reason, Resi's head sank back between her knees—and sank even deeper than before.

As if she had shut down even more completely.

Cocotte felt utterly helpless. She nudged her cloud over beside Resi, reached out a hand, and patted Resi on the head.

"Hey, alright, alright—stop crying."

Resi slowly lifted her head. The corners of her eyes still glimred with tears.

"Then……are you willing to co back with ?"

"No."

Her head sank back down again. The sound of weeping grew a few degrees louder.

Leah stood to one side, arms folded across her chest, and finally asked the question that had been puzzling her all along.

"So—why exactly don't you want to go back?"

Cocotte sat on her cloud, spreading her hands with a sowhat helpless air:

"Do you enjoy the feeling of being stuck inside a tree all day, having a bunch of Elves make offerings to you, and not being allowed to co and go as you please?"

Leah thought it over, then pressed on:

"But you sleep all day anyway—what's wrong with staying in that tree and sleeping?"

"But! But I get bored when I wake up!"

"Hmm, actually that's a fair point."

Leah rolled her eyes, her voice carrying a faint note of disdain.

"Then what's the point of your Elven Queen title anyway—just sitting in so tree all day."

"It's not just so tree, exactly—you know that all Elves are born and grown from nature, right?"

Cocotte sat nearby and explained:

"But this birth ritual requires a specifically chosen Elf to remain within the divine tree—only then can the divine tree give birth to new Elves."

She pointed to herself, grinning cheekily:

"In other words, if I don't go back, the Divine Tree Yadh won't be producing any new Elves."

"Hm?"

Leah blinked.

She had a vague feeling she had just heard sothing rather serious.

But Cocotte didn't seem to care about any of it, and still had the leisure to ask questions.

"Oh right, where did Viktor go?"

"I still have a few things I wanted to say to him—how has he just co back and already gone out again?"

"Viktor, you said?"

Leah turned her head, looked left and right, then said with absolute certainty:

"You'll have to wait a bit then."

"At this hour, he's probably in the middle of tearing apart soone else's house."
