A FEW DAYS LATER
ALEXANDER
A few days later, I officially learned sothing important. Traveling with Scarlet and Noa ant normal life no longer existed at all.
"I do not like this at all."I sighed.
We had taken another guild request escorting supplies to a small village outside the city. Simple task, easy money, peaceful. That should have warned imdiately. The village itself was tiny. Small houses, dirt roads, farms everywhere. The mont we arrived, people started staring at Scarlet again. Mostly because holy light was literally following her around. A little girl suddenly ran toward us crying.
"Please help! Grandpa collapsed!"She scread and I could see fear in her eyes.
"Take to him."Scarlet reacted instantly.
Before I could even process what was happening, half the village followed us toward a small house. Inside, an elderly man lay on a bed struggling to breathe. The villagers looked desperate.
"The healer said he wouldn’t survive the night." One woman whispered.
Scarlet stepped forward quietly then placed her hand over the old man’s chest. Holy light exploded through the room, everyone gasped, and even I had to shield my eyes. A few seconds later, the light faded. The old man sat up imdiately, completely healthy.
"I can breathe?" He whispered.
Silence. Then the villagers collectively lost their minds.
"A MIRACLE!"One scread.
"SHE’S A REAL SAINTESS!"An older man joined.
"SHE CURED HIM INSTANTLY!"A girl cried loudly." YOU CURED MY GRANDFATHER!"
One old woman dropped to her knees, then another followed and another, within seconds half the village was bowing.
"Scarlet."I stared in horror.
"Yes, Master?"She looked back at innocently.
"Why are they worshipping you?"I asked.
"I healed him."She blinked.
"THAT DOESN’T USUALLY CAUSE RELIGION!"I shouted, shocked.
anwhile outside it got worse. Soone started ringing a bell. Why did the village HAVE a bell for this?! Villagers began gathering flowers.
"The Holy Lady has descended!"One child pointed directly at Scarlet and shouted.
"Did I do sothing wrong?"Scarlet looked genuinely confused.
"Village reputation updated: Accidental deity status achieved. Current title: The White Saint of East Hollow."The system appeared imdiately.
"We were supposed to deliver boxes!"I grabbed my head.
"The boxes were delivered."Scarlet tilted her head.
"Technically true."I said.
Outside the house, villagers had already started placing candles around Scarlet. NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT. "This is why holy types are exhausting."anwhile, Noa leaned against a nearby wall watching the chaos with amusent.
"You are not helping."I pointed at her imdiately.
"I never claid I would."Noa said and smiled inocently.
Later that night, after sohow escaping the villagers trying to build a shrine for Scarlet, we rented a room at the local inn. One room, huge mistake. Scarlet sat quietly near the window while Noa casually stretched across the bed like she owned the building. I sat on the floor with a book in my lap.
"So." I muttered. "Dark elf magic."
"Finally interested?"Noa smirked slightly.
"I almost died to goblins three days ago. Yes. I’m interested." She laughed softly.
Then leaned closer, dark mana gathered around her fingers.
"Dark elf magic works differently than human magic." She explained. "Humans force mana outward. We manipulate flow."
She placed her hand over mine. The mana in the room shifted instantly, cold, heavy and alive. I felt energy move through my arm for the first ti properly.
"Whoa."I gasped lightly.
"Focus."Noa smiled proudly.
I tried. A small dark fla flickered above my hand. Tiny, weak, but real.
"New skill learned: Dark Magic Control Lv.1 Achievent unlocked: actually useful for once."The system appeared imdiately.
"I hate this system."I said.
"Mutual feeling."Noa said.
Then the inn door suddenly opened slightly. A random villager peeked inside.
"Um... the village elder wanted to ask the saintess if she would bless the-"The villiger said.
Noa turned slowly. Her smile vanished instantly.
"Interrupt us again." She said softly. "And I will demonstrate advanced dark elf curse magic on your bloodline."
The villager disappeared imdiately, the door slamd shut.
"You threatened an entire family."I stared at her.
"They interrupted your lesson."Noa said.
"Reasonable."Scarlet nodded from the window.
I looked between both summons.
"Current situation analysis: User surrounded by ntally unstable high tier entities."Then slowly looked at the system screen.
"Yeah." I muttered. "That sounds accurate."
The next morning, I woke up to the sll of food. Actual food, not suspicious gray adventurer stew. I slowly sat up and imdiately saw Scarlet standing near the small kitchen area inside the inn room.
"Good morning, Master."She turned slightly when she noticed awake.
"Did you cook?"I blinked.
Noa was already sitting at the table eating calmly.
"For once." Noa admitted. "The holy one is useful."
"And for once, you are not threatening sobody."Scarlet smiled sweetly.
"I threatened only one person yesterday."Noa said proudly.
"One entire bloodline." I corrected.
"Still counts as one."Noa looked thoughtful.
I sighed and sat down at the table, the food looked ridiculous. Fresh bread, roasted at, soup that actually slled edible. I took one bite and nearly ascended spiritually.
"I think I understand why villagers started worshipping you."I said.
"I am happy Master likes it."Scarlet looked pleased imdiately.
"The villagers outside are still waiting."Noa crossed her legs calmly while sipping tea.
"Waiting for what?"I froze.
A loud knock echoed through the inn, too many people. I opened the door carefully. Half the village was standing outside, flowers everywhere.
"Hero!"One old man stepped forward dramatically.
"Who?" I pointed at myself.
"You!"He said.
"Why?!"I asked.
"You traveled with the Holy Saintess!"He said.
Several villagers nodded rapidly like this explained everything, then I noticed a few villagers carrying sothing heavy, and before I could escape, I saw heavy box in their hands. What is even there?! Most importantly, why they have brought it here?
