"Prince, be careful!"

The man shouted loudly, intending to rush forward imdiately, but saw this wolf-faced prince remain unfazed as he drew the curved blade from his waist and swung it forcefully—

Everything happened in the blink of an eye.

Only a "snap" was heard, as the lightning bolt shot towards him was blocked by his knife, the arrow broke into two pieces right in front of him and fell down.

The man was both surprised and delighted, praising, "Prince’s divine power!"

However, the wolf-faced prince, who had perford this "miracle," showed no sign of joy, not even the corners of his lips moved, after all, these arrows were shot from that spruce forest, which was almost a hundred paces away, and the archers hidden inside must be even further away, making them impossible to see.

And this distance exceeded the range of ordinary arrows.

Therefore, even though the soldiers ahead were sowhat injured, the arrow shot at him had already lost the killing power of a regular arrow, allowing him to cut it down with one swing.

The soldiers who initially panicked when they saw their comrades get hit now found themselves thrilled, drawing their waist knives and swinging them forcefully, only to hear the sharp whistling in the air and the crisp sound of the curved blades striking the arrows ringing out in unison.

Yet, this strategy proved effective, they blocked many arrows, and those ambushing in the dense forest, seeing the situation, aware of the failed surprise attack, began retreating imdiately.

As they retreated, they realized so many people were hidden in the forest.

These people wore deep blue clothing, which was not ideal for hiding during daylight, but the gloomy weather and the bluish glow from the spruce branches under such dim light concealed most of their figures, allowing them to remain undiscovered. Now seeing these figures, the wolf-faced prince wouldn’t let them go.

He raised his arm high, and the curved blade in his hand carved a bright arc in the air—

"Kill them!"

As soon as these words fell, the Western Turkic soldiers, already angered by the ambush, started roaring furiously, swiftly mounting their horses and charging into the dense forest.

Though the Turkic cavalry were swift, their speed drastically reduced upon entering the forest, as they encountered nurous obstacles; furthermore, the forest was incredibly lush, and upon entering, the dense branches and leaves blocked out the day light, making it dimr like dusk, which favored the archers hiding within the forest. These clever archers ran swiftly, surprisingly not imdiately chased down by the cavalry, both sides tightly locked in pursuit.

The man relentlessly pursued those fleeing ahead, but unable to catch up, gritted his teeth in frustration, "Who are these people? Could it be—Yu Wenye?"

Their main adversary on this southern campaign, or rather, their target, was Yu Wenye.

Beside him, the wolf-faced prince said solemnly, "No."

The man was stunned, "Why?"

Even though they hadn’t seen their opponent, why was the prince so certain?

He saw the wolf-faced prince with a concentrated expression, galloping while hauling the reins, skillfully avoiding the tree trunks obstructing their path; although the wolf head mask covered most of his face, concealing his eyes, his sharp gaze seemingly pierced through the mask and the dense forest ahead, even sharper than the arrows shot before.

He said, "If it were Yu Wenye, he would be using the Divine Arm Bow."

"..."

"Then, earlier—"

Upon hearing this, the man shivered.

He had participated in the Battle of Yann before and witnessed how Yu Wenye’s Divine Arm Bow could strike Shali Khan from a hundred paces away, even destroying the whistle arrow!

If the earlier arrow was shot from the Divine Arm Bow, the prince might not have remained unscathed.

But, if it wasn’t Yu Wenye, then who could it be?

The only ones likely to aid Taiyuan and oppose the Western Turks now were the Yuwen Family from the Central Pass, and the most formidable mber, most hated by the Western Turkic people, was none other than Yu Wenye, right?

Hearing this, the wolf-faced prince breathed deeply, seeming to ponder, yet didn’t say much, simply stating, "Catch up and you will know."

After saying this, he suddenly whipped the reins hard.

The stallion beneath him shot forward like an arrow released from a bowstring.

Thus, this chase continued through the dense forest for almost half an hour; however, the cavalry’s advantage was entirely suppressed within the forest, leading them further astray, with nightfall approaching, while those fleeing archers ahead gradually dwindled, mysteriously vanishing into the woods.
