As Shang Ruyi stood watching, a maid approached her and pointed with her hand—
"Your tent is over there."
She thought Shang Ruyi couldn’t find her own accommodation and stood there looking around, but Shang Ruyi didn’t say much, just thanked her softly and quickened her steps to enter the small tent.
The tent ant for her alone was naturally not as comfortable and luxurious as the one Lei Yu had, but it was clean and tidy. Shang Ruyi walked to the bedside and sat down; the bedding was soft and dry, but this comfort did not relax her. On the contrary, her palms kneaded the soft bedding, yet a string in her heart was pulled tighter.
Not only that, Ashina Zhuxie’s gloomy gaze still lingered in her mind.
That gaze made her uneasy.
But amid the unease, there seed also a bit of inexplicable emotion stirring.
Considering she was alone in this tent, it was certainly not as free as when she was with Lei Yu, and Shang Ruyi didn’t want to wander outside. However, every now and then, she walked to the entrance, lifted the tent flap, and looked outside; the scenery remained unchanged, occasionally patrolled soldiers walked by, but no one bothered her.
When she walked to the entrance again and just lifted the curtain, she saw a familiar figure walking up to her.
"Ah!"
Shang Ruyi was stunned; it was Lei Yu.
Lei Yu was about to reach out to lift the tent flap and saw her standing inside; both were taken aback, although Lei Yu seed unsurprised to find Shang Ruyi standing at the door looking outside. She nodded at her and entered the tent.
Seeing the simple furnishings upon entry, she couldn’t help but frown deeply.
"How can you live like this?"
Shang Ruyi smiled and said, "I am Princess Qin of the Dasheng Dynasty, not the Princess of your Turkic."
"..."
"This place is already good enough."
Lei Yu was still not satisfied and said, "I’ll have soone bring a few more things for you, and at night, it’s cold here, just one brazier isn’t enough."
Shang Ruyi hurriedly held her back, smiling bitterly, "Don’t cause trouble."
"..."
"Shali Khan has only forgotten to deal with , not spared ; if you keep sending things my way and he finds out that the daughter of his enemy is not only living among the Turks but comfortably, do you think he’d let live?"
This made sense, and Lei Yu imdiately dared not act recklessly.
After so thought, she said, "It’s one thing for other matters, but more braziers you must have. You do fear the cold."
Shang Ruyi rembered that although sleeping didn’t bother her these past two nights, waking up, she’d always snuggle up to Lei Yu; indeed, she was afraid of the cold and nodded with a smile.
However, after laughing, that bit of unease in her heart gradually spread again in the brief silence.
She looked at Lei Yu—Yiasu had just returned, and from his recent sticky deanor, he probably couldn’t bear to leave his wife’s side at all. Although Lei Yu wasn’t as affectionate with him, having been apart for several days, and he had gone a long way to buy a bag of pepper just because of one word from her, a couple should have so ti alone together.
But she had co to find her so quickly.
So, Shang Ruyi softly asked, "Do you have sothing to tell ?"
Lei Yu’s expression turned serious.
She looked around; there really wasn’t a place to sit down and discuss, so she pulled her to the bed and sat down. Before speaking, she glanced at the tent’s entrance, then said, "You just wanted to look outside—did you also sense sothing amiss?"
"..."
Shang Ruyi took a deep breath in her heart.
Speaking of military matters, she wasn’t sure who was stronger, herself or the carefree and sowhat naive Prince Yiasu, but Lei Yu, coming from a military family and even joining her father on the battlefield, was certainly stronger than both.
So, the current abnormality of the Western Turks, she must have seen it imdiately.
She’s just unsure whether what she sensed was the sa as what Lei Yu saw.
Shang Ruyi said, "Do you an—"
Lei Yu looked at her, saying solemnly, "The troops have not moved, but the supplies have."
"...!"
Shang Ruyi’s heart sank.
Right!
Since Shali Khan had already ordered troops against Chang An and commanded Ashina Zhuxie to hand the Heavy Cavalry to Yiasu tomorrow, it ant that according to his plan, the war was imminent, and the army should soon advance.
