Wielding the Thunders Across Two Worlds Chapter 247 - 246: The Celestial Pig Great Curse Destroys Ev
Taoist Yu Zhang, an heir of the Northern Emperor Sect, had been brought over by Gu Zhao simply because he happened to be visiting Taoist Shen Hao on Sanmao Mountain at the ti.
Even in his old world, he had been the type to travel and visit friends. Over the past decade, he had journeyed far and wide. Now, arriving in this new world, his adventurous spirit burned even brighter. After descending the mountain, he had almost never gone back up.
Furthermore, his Dao Practice was not yet on par with Taoist Qingyuan, who had arrived earlier, or Taoist Shen Hao, who had a much deeper foundation. Thus, he hadn’t participated in the battles in Bai Shi Prefecture, instead choosing to hunt ghosts and demons along the borderlands of the two prefectures to accumulate Evil Qi.
Perhaps because the Northern Emperor Technique was a form of magic that specialized in exorcism, Taoist Yu Zhang possessed a keen sixth sense. While he wasn’t as adept at tracking enemies as Taoist Yan Ling with his Taiyi Divine Light, he could always find well-hidden demons and ghosts.
Building on the foundation laid by those who ca before him, combined with his own high Magical Power and diligence, his Dao Practice was increasing even faster than that of Taoist Jing Hong and Taoist Jing Fa.
Just two days prior, he had a brief eting with Taoist Ming Chong, who had also co down from the mountains. They discussed Taoist Ming Yu’s great display of power on Blue Star, the well-being of the juniors at the Celestial Master’s Mansion, and their cooperation with the Taoist Cultural Exchange Support Office. After parting ways, he arrived in Zhen Nan County, in the Northwest of Changping Prefecture.
Zhen Nan County bordered Shide Prefecture to the west and faced the Wanling River to the north. Being far from the heart of Changping Prefecture, it was often plagued by demons and ghosts crossing over from Jiangbei and Shide Prefecture to cause trouble. Before Daluo Palace could establish absolute authority in the region, it was an endless leveling ground.
As Taoist Yu Zhang was traveling through the lands of Changping Prefecture, he naturally wouldn’t miss a place like this.
Just last night, he had discovered two demons sneaking into the eastern suburbs of the county seat. After dispatching them with ease, he learned that their companions were by the Yongning River.
So, early this morning, he left the city and headed east, planning to try his luck at the border between the two prefectures.
He had just reached a town in the eastern suburbs of the county seat when he saw a peddler pushing a cart out of the town and heading down a small path to the north.
Taoist Yu Zhang initially paid him no mind and was about to pass through the town, but he paused and turned his head to look back at the peddler.
Despite the distance, Taoist Yu Zhang’s Magical Power was already profound, granting him extraordinary eyesight. He could tell with a single glance that the peddler’s movents were nimble and that his foundation in martial arts was exceptionally deep. He was no ordinary man.
’A Martial Arts Expert?’ Taoist Yu Zhang raised an eyebrow in surprise and clicked his tongue. "The experts in this world are all so low-key!"
Taoist Yu Zhang shook his head and was about to leave, but after taking two steps, he turned back again.
’Why is he pushing his cart out at this ti?’
Taoist Yu Zhang had been in the area for a few days, so he knew that this was the ti when people would be pushing their carts *into* town to sell their wares. Whether heading to the county seat or the local villages, they would have woken up early to set up shop at dawn.
But this peddler was pushing his cart *away* from the small town. It was as if a rchant was packing up his goods and leaving just as the morning market opened. No matter how he looked at it, sothing felt wrong.
A glint appeared in Taoist Yu Zhang’s eyes. Instead of continuing east, he began to tail the peddler from a distance, following him down the small path.
A Martial Arts Expert hiding his identity, traveling at an odd ti.
If it had just been one of these things, Taoist Yu Zhang might have let it go. But with two suspicious points, he decided to follow and see what was going on.
’If the peddler is just a Martial Arts Expert who’s tired of worldly conflict, hiding his identity in this town and simply heading out to sell goods to the nearby villages, then I’ll just consider this a short stroll off the beaten path.’
But if he uncovered so conspiracy, whether it ant punishing the wicked or saving the innocent, Taoist Yu Zhang would be more than happy to intervene.
The peddler pushed his cart, looking straight ahead, and no one seed to notice anything unusual about him. He continued up the path, even greeting a couple of passersby who seed to know him.
This almost made Taoist Yu Zhang think he had misjudged the situation.
But just as smoke from cooking fires began to rise from the village at the foot of the distant mountain, the peddler stopped. He glanced left and right, then suddenly hoisted the entire cart onto his back and darted into the mountain forest.
The cart was not small, yet with it on his back, the peddler moved through the forest as if flying. Once he was far from the path, he truly let loose, his figure blurring as he sped through the trees.
Soon, the peddler crossed through the woods, rounded the base of a mountain, and arrived at a hollow not far from the village.
"Senior?"
Turning into the hollow, the peddler asked cautiously. Beads of sweat dotted the tip of his nose, and his eyes were filled with apprehension.
"You’ve arrived?"
A raspy, ancient voice suddenly echoed throughout the hollow, making it impossible to pinpoint its source.
"I have."
The peddler set down the cart he carried, opened its lid, and pulled out two unconscious children, one in each hand. It was a boy and a girl, both only about five or six years old.
"Senior, I’ve brought you a young boy and girl."
"Good. Bring them to ."
"Yes!"
The peddler’s eyes lit up. Carrying the children, he walked deeper into the hollow. He soon reached its depths and looked around, but he couldn’t find the figure he was expecting to see.
"Senior?" the peddler asked again.
"Useless fool," the ancient voice snapped.
"Huh?"
"I told you to bring a young boy and girl, but you brought a Mage with you!"
"A Mage? There’s no one else!" The peddler looked at the two unconscious children in his hands, then glanced behind him to see nothing but empty air. "Senior, I haven’t seen any Mages since you spoke to the day before yesterday!"
"I followed your instructions and took a young boy and girl, their birthdays less than three days apart, exactly as you required." The peddler hastily bowed. "My sincerity is absolute! I only wish to beco your disciple and serve you!"
As the peddler spoke, a ghastly, dark pallor spread across his face, and his body began to wither at a speed visible to the naked eye. By the ti he finished his vigorous-sounding speech, he had been reduced to skin and bones.
He didn’t seem to notice, only feeling a bit breathless after speaking. But when he tried to stand up straight, he found his body had suddenly beco stiff.
"I..."
He suddenly saw his own clasped hands, which now looked like those of a dried corpse.
"!"
The peddler’s pupils dilated, and his heart hamred in his chest. He wanted to get up and run, but he couldn’t draw another breath. His vision went black, and he collapsed to the ground.
The next mont, the two children the peddler had placed on the ground were seized by what looked like a giant, invisible hand. They lifted into the air and began to fly deeper into the hollow.
But just as they took flight, a figure appeared between them, catching one child in each arm.
"Junior Mage, I advise you not to ddle in affairs that don’t concern you," the ancient voice rasped in Taoist Yu Zhang’s ear.
But Taoist Yu Zhang’s gaze burned as he stared at a massive tree nearby, one so thick it would take two people to encircle it. "Not only will I ddle, I’m going to eliminate a wicked Demon Fiend like you!"
"How audacious!"
In the next instant, a black cloud descended over the hollow, and the air suddenly filled with thick Yin Qi.
A figure drifted out from the great tree. It was an old man with a white beard and white hair, hovering in the air above Taoist Yu Zhang, his presence overwhelming. "Since you’ve co, you may as well stay."
But Taoist Yu Zhang sensed that the entity’s aura was unstable. His eyes narrowed as he ford the Ziwei Seal with his left hand and prepared the Celestial Pig Technique with his right. "I was thinking the sa thing."
The old man cackled, his eyes turning fierce. He threw himself at Taoist Yu Zhang, a ghostly claw lashing out toward the Daoist’s heart.
But Taoist Yu Zhang didn’t flinch. He glared at the old man and began to recite the Celestial Pig Great Curse. "Seven Stars, Eight Spirits, the Most High, vast and baleful. Long-skulled great beast, wielding the Emperor’s Bell."
The next mont, the spectral image of a colossal beast materialized behind Taoist Yu Zhang and swallowed the attacking old man in a single gulp!
