Once the academy mbers had sorted out the initial arrangents for the survivors, Han Ning had Egg Pancake get to work. Considering the crash site wasn’t far from the academy, the dragon used its Super Gravity ability to reduce the plane’s weight and hoisted the passenger jet into the sky.
Leon stared in amazent at the scenery flashing past the window and the faintly glowing cabin walls, then asked:
"Gentlen, is this Giant Dragon also one of your Soul Beasts? Can humans really command such a terrifying creature in battle?"
"It’s my student’s Soul Beast," Dean Wu explained, glancing at Han Ning. "In a few hours, information called the Beast Taming Technique will appear in your minds. When that happens, you’ll also be able to form contracts with Soul Beasts. Once you raise them slowly over ti, they can reach the level of strength of the Giant Dragon below."
The captain, who was standing nearby, noticed a paper cup floating gently in the air and took the opportunity to ask:
"Mr. Wu, based on what you just said, we humans struggle to survive on this continent. Even with the ability to command such powerful Soul Beasts, you still have to be cautious? Then the Insect-man Race you ntioned... just how terrifying must they be?"
"Actually... if we could fully develop our human technology, then even though the Insect-man Race on this continent is powerful, we wouldn’t be completely defenseless. The problem is, our numbers are too small. Even with you all, we’re just over 400 people. Even if everyone contracted a few Soul Beasts, our entire force wouldn’t exceed 2,000 beings."
They had discussed it before. Nuclear weapons were humanity’s most powerful technological tool. Even the mysterious and mighty Insect Queen would probably find it difficult to escape a nuclear blast unscathed.
So what if she had Spiritual Power to give an early warning? Under a full-scale nuclear bombardnt, no living thing would have anywhere to run, unless they possessed rule-defying Soul Techniques like Space Transfer or Ti Freeze...
"We’re only just beginning to learn how to raise Soul Beasts, and for developing technology, we lack the specialized personnel and materials."
Dean Wu didn’t go into detail about just how strong the Insect-n were. He had to leave them with a little hope.
After a pause, Dean Wu asked another question. "Mr. Leon, what was the local ti on Blue Star when your plane took off?"
Leon glanced at his chanical watch, whose hands had stopped moving.
"It was about 9:23 a.m. on October 13th, 2021. For personal reasons, Lisa was reporting to her university a few days later than the other students."
"October 13th, 2021?" Hearing this date, the academy mbers couldn’t help but exchange a look.
Lü Xiuning’s tone was one of surprise. "I rember we transmigrated on October 14th, 2021. Xia Country is six hours ahead of Pulu Country, which ans... this passenger jet actually transmigrated before we did?"
"I don’t rember seeing any news about a missing plane online at the ti... It’s possible the ti gap was too short for the news to have hit the internet," Han Ning said with a frown.
"When Lena and the others ca through, the timing was fairly normal—it was the afternoon of October 14th, local ti. The Shan People arrived at so point that night. Based on that tiline, we had already been transported here by then."
Dean Wu muttered to himself,
"Putting together our arrival and the timing of these other groups, we can reach a preliminary conclusion that everyone transmigrated between the 13th and 14th. It can basically be considered the sa point in ti..."
"They were just personnel on a vehicle who went missing, whereas our entire academy vanished. Even back on Blue Star, that would be a massive, society-shaking event. Ah... but I guess it has nothing to do with us anymore."
Lü Xiuning shook his head. ’So what if they found out? At most, it would beco a hot topic in the news. With Blue Star’s level of technology, they haven’t developed spatial jump capabilities. Even if the governnt wanted to send a rescue team, they probably wouldn’t even know where to look, unless a huge number of people disappeared and they could figure out a specific pattern.’
...
Under a dark and gloomy sky, a Giant Dragon with lava-colored light tracing its body roared past, dragging a gray passenger jet larger than itself as it slowly descended toward the outskirts of the dormitory area.
By this ti, most of the teachers and students at the academy had already gathered at the entrance, watching the arrival of the Boeing 737 with curious eyes.
"SKREEE!"
This ti, Egg Pancake didn’t use its Primordial Power Soul Technique. Instead, with Yin Yi’s help, it transported the passenger jet back to the academy.
HISS~
The cabin door opened, and the airstairs were lowered.
Hundreds of light sources illuminated the plane’s silhouette, turning the pitch-black night into a brightly lit scene.
Teacher Zhou, who was already prepared, imdiately led the others forward to greet them.
The plane’s luggage compartnt was opened, and passengers with checked baggage went to claim their belongings.
Those without checked baggage carried their small carry-on items and followed the directions of Teacher Zhou and the others to the dormitory building to be assigned lodging.
Relatively powerful Tree Spirits and Tree Demons were stationed along the path, performing Purification on the surrounding air to prevent the newcors from becoming paralyzed by inhaling too much of the white mist.
"Tsk... These people have it so much better than we did. They have protection, a relatively safe place to live, water, and electricity. Aside from not being able to go back, it’s basically like they’ve just been sent to work in so technologically backward countryside."
Lin Tianhe couldn’t help but sigh with emotion as he watched the passengers walking into the dormitory area in an orderly line.
Han Ning chuckled:
"The academy is short on manpower right now. We can’t just go and scare the piss out of them and make them all depressed, can we? Who would build up the academy for us then?"
