Chen Wen acted quickly.

After handling all the procedures, he arrived in the capital.

The association was located in an international building in the Chaoyang District.

Chen Wen arrived relatively early, with half an hour to go before his appointnt with Hua Yun.

He headed to a small park across from the building and found a bench to sit and rest.

While Chen Wen was resting, accompanied by even breathing, a fit man who looked to be in his forties ca jogging over.

When he saw Chen Wen, he showed a look of surprise.

However, the man didn’t speak, instead starting his exercise in an open area of the park.

Chen Wen glanced over and saw it was a martial art similar to Tai Chi.

Moreover, the man seed familiar to him.

But Chen Wen didn’t stare, as that would be impolite.

The man practiced for a while, wiped his sweat, and approached Chen Wen.

"Are you Chen Wen?"

The man asked.

Chen Wen was taken aback and stood up quickly: "Hello, I am Chen Wen, and you are?"

"Liu Yu."

Liu Yu smiled and said, "Hua Yun invited you, right? Didn’t she tell you the ti? Why are you so early?"

Upon hearing this na, Chen Wen imdiately understood.

The person was the Vice President of the Hua Country Exploration Association, mbership number CAA000006, and head of the Wilderness Survival Branch—Liu Yu.

He was also the recomnder for Chen Wen’s participation in the Desert Death Battle.

"Chairman Liu, hello, Hua Yun told the ti, I just arrived early."

Chen Wen respectfully extended his hand.

It wasn’t because of the man’s position, but rather because of his achievents.

This man is genuinely the number one in dostic wilderness survival!

Take Hua Yun, for instance, her survival challenges are almost all dostic and in relatively resource-rich areas.

But Liu Yu is completely different!

Liu Yu wasn’t initially a professional in wilderness survival.

He had been trekking with another vice president of the association, commonly known as "the contemporary Xu Xiake," Mr. Lei.

However, during the trek, Liu Yu developed an interest in the wilderness.

At the ti, wilderness survival was popular overseas, but there wasn’t much movent dostically.

Liu Yu beca more resolute about promoting professional wilderness survival in the country.

During a trek in Lop Nur, Liu Yu separated from Mr. Lei.

He began his legendary survival journey.

Dostically: Lop Nur Desert, Taklamakan Desert, Qiangtang Wilderness...

Internationally: Sahara Desert, Amazon Rainforest, Australian Inland Desert...

Just hearing about these places gives one a headache.

But Liu Yu has persisted for twenty years!

During these twenty years, he has left stories that could take him a lifeti to recount.

While surviving on his own, Liu Yu also dedicated himself to professionalizing wilderness survival, providing a platform for all survivalists.

Today’s Hua Country Exploration Association—Wilderness Survival Branch is his accomplishnt.

Liu Yu shook hands amicably with Chen Wen, smiled, and said, "Hua Yun might take a bit longer; this girl lives far away, let’s go up first."

Following Liu Yu, Chen Wen could clearly feel the man’s restrained strength.

Even though he was nearly fifty, with white hairs at his temples.

Yet Liu Yu walked with the pace of a dragon and the stride of a tiger, strong and steady.

Although Liu Yu’s build was on the lean side, the contours beneath his clothes hinted at powerful muscles.

A formidable person!

...

After going upstairs, the Exploration Association surprised Chen Wen.

It was so small!

Chen Wen thought the Exploration Association would be a large organization.

But the association only occupied three rooms in total.

One president’s office, one vice president’s office, and one reception room.

"Doesn’t it feel small?"

Inside the vice president’s office, Liu Yu smiled and asked.

Chen Wen didn’t hide it: "It is a bit small. I thought it would occupy an entire building, or at least a whole floor."

Liu Yu heard this and, with a solemn expression, said, "You and Mr. Lei think alike, believing bigger is more imposing."

"But to , explorers are born to challenge; what does staying in an office an?"

"It looks like we have only these three offices, but leave the office, and where isn’t a place for explorers to work?"

"The vast world is the true ho of explorers!"

Chen Wen nodded seriously at this.

But Liu Yu then chuckled, "The bigger reason, though, was that the association was unofficial back then, lacking funds, so we scraped together the rent for these three rooms. Over ti, everyone got used to it, and we never rented more."

Alright, so he’s not too serious.

Chen Wen smiled awkwardly.

Liu Yu said, "I’ll go change clothes, you sit for a while. Sun? Are you here? Take care of our guest."

After Liu Yu left, a girl in her twenties arrived.

She was average-looking.

When she saw Chen Wen, she seed to rember sothing.

Then, under Chen Wen’s puzzled gaze, Sun huffed, her tone stiff: "What would you like? Tea? Plain water? Coffee?"

What? Sister?

Did I sohow offend you?

Chen Wen paused for a mont, then said, "Tea is fine."

Sun went and brewed a cup of tea, placing it in front of Chen Wen.

But she didn’t leave; instead, she sat to the side and asked, "Are you Chen Wen? The one who beat Hua?"

Is she Hua Yun’s little fan?

Chen Wen nodded and said, "That’s ."

Sun mumbled sothing, but Chen Wen heard it clearly with his [big ears].

"Doesn’t look so impressive."

So, she is a little fan!

Chen Wen thought secretly: With Hua Yun’s looks, paired with her charismatic aura, she could indeed win over both n and won!

After a pause, Sun asked, "What do you think you’ll place in this Desert Death Battle?"

Chen Wen thought about it and conservatively said, "Getting a result shouldn’t be a problem."

aning the top three.

Sun scoffed, then beca a bit more serious: "Top three isn’t as easy as you think!"

"I suggest you look at the participant list before comnting. To be honest, getting into the top five would be quite remarkable!"

"I don’t know what Hua Yun and Mr. Liu were thinking, but they vouched for you with their honor and wrote you a letter of recomndation! Hmph! If you don’t make it to the top three, it would be a disgrace to them!"

Chen Wen was taken aback, genuinely surprised.

Vouching with their honor?

I thought just being recomnded was enough to participate?

Noticing Chen Wen’s confusion,

Sun kindly explained, "By participating this ti, you’re representing our Exploration Association, especially Mr. Liu. He’s your main guarantor—it’s his first ti guaranteeing another survivalist. If you don’t perform well, it will greatly affect his reputation!"

Is there such a thing?

Chen Wen felt a bit pressured.

In this world, Liu Yu is the Bell of Huaxia.

Such a senior using his reputation as a guarantee, does he really trust that much?

Sun wasn’t unkind; seeing Chen Wen knew nothing, she quietly took a printed docunt from Liu Yu’s desk.

Chen Wen took the docunt and read it carefully.

It was a recomndation letter from Liu Yu.

The recomndation letter was very concise:

This is to recomnd wilderness survival athlete—Chen Wen to your esteed program.

Recomndation reason: Unfazed by danger, with the deanor of a general!

Hope for your consideration.

Recomnder: Liu Yu.

Chen Wen took a deep breath and handed the docunt back to Sun.

Sun huffed arrogantly and said softly, "Now you know how precious this opportunity is, right? If Hua Yun weren’t busy with the Qinling Challenge, she’d be the one going. And even for her, it wouldn’t necessarily qualify her to have Mr. Liu personally write a recomndation letter."

"After all, this challenge concerns our survival branch’s performance and Mr. Liu’s reputation. If you don’t make it into the top three, Mr. Liu will be ridiculed by the industry. Many foreign reporters are waiting for Mr. Liu to falter."

Chen Wen heard this, not fully understanding the actual situation.

But he still replied seriously, "I understand. I’ll strive hard in this survival challenge."
