Australian Wild Dogs, the top predators of the Australian Outback!
It sounds a bit funny; in other places, the top predators are tigers, lions, and brown bears, or at least wolves.
But for Australia, Australian Wild Dogs are indeed the face of the top predators.
These descendants of dostic dogs, which possibly migrated to Australia from East Asia thousands of years ago along with human activity, have done quite well in Australia.
They can hunt small prey like burrow rabbits alone.
They can also cooperate to hunt sheep, calves, and even young cals.
Packs of Australian Wild Dogs are similar to wolf packs.
Therefore, when faced with a group of these not-so-large animals, even humans must remain vigilant.
"Are there many of them?"
Dennis, in a panic, took out his weapon and asked Chen Wen.
Chen Wen looked up; the hawk was screeching continuously to report numbers.
And the kite was also describing the wild dogs it saw.
After a mont, Chen Wen took a deep breath: "Twelve Australian Wild Dogs, and they should all be adults!"
Upon hearing this, Dennis imdiately beca tense.
"Twelve, that’s a big pack!"
Dennis said, picking up his weapon and nervously watching the vague silhouettes of the wild dogs in the oasis.
By the ti everyone with Chen Wen had picked up their weapons and entered a state of alert.
The pack of wild dogs also entered the oasis.
Beside Chen Wen, the Taipan Snake was also startled.
It poked its body out of its sack, its snake eyes warily watching the oasis.
Soon, an Australian Wild Dog poked its head out.
Chen Wen looked at the form of the Australian Wild Dog, his mouth slightly twitching.
Oh gosh, it’s just like the village Dahuang!
The form of the Australian Wild Dog is extrely similar to the Chinese Rural Dog.
Although they co in many colors, their overall color tends to be sandy.
Their height and weight are also similar to the Chinese Rural Dog.
Even their appearance looks strikingly similar to the Chinese Rural Dog.
Chen Wen and Hua Yun exchanged a glance; both saw the clumsy shadow of the Chinese Rural Dog in the Australian Wild Dogs.
The only difference from the Chinese Rural Dog is their slightly longer snout.
But they seem as fierce as wolves.
However, although they look much like Chinese Rural Dogs, their nature is far from as docile.
Accompanying the continuous barking of the Australian Wild Dog.
Other Australian Wild Dogs ca over, their slightly cold eyes staring directly at everyone present.
It seed as if they were evaluating their food.
"Try not to engage, these guys are very irritable, once we engage first, they might all attack together!"
Dennis said, calming everyone not to act.
But unfortunately, just as Dennis was speaking, the Australian Wild Dogs began to get restless.
This pack of Australian Wild Dogs lives within the Great Sand Desert.
In their short lives, they have almost never seen humans, and even their genetic fear of humans has beco increasingly diluted.
Therefore, upon seeing humans.
This pack of Australian Wild Dogs did not leave or show any intent of expulsion.
On the contrary.
Humans, in the eyes of the Australian Wild Dogs, appear to be huntable, of course, through pack hunting.
They stuck out their tongues, revealing greedy expressions.
"They’re seeing us as food..."
Chen Wen chuckled in a low voice, seemingly a bit amazed.
Dennis glanced at the bodies of the Australian Wild Dogs.
They were thin.
And their bellies were not drooping, even sowhat gaunt.
"These are a bunch of starved puppies!"
Dennis said, tightly gripping the long knife, although he hadn’t hunted personally, he felt no fear towards this pack of wild dogs.
Hua Yun and Adam drew their arrows, adjusting their breathing while also locking in on their targets.
Fred took out an axe, his tall figure moved to the forefront to protect everyone, his expression was sowhat hideous.
Chen Wen, holding the long spear, was considering the current situation.
Soon, Chen Wen said: "Everyone, act quickly, crush the spirit of this pack of wild dogs with a thunderous force, force them to retreat!"
Hearing Chen Wen’s words, everyone nodded.
At this ti, the Australian Wild Dogs couldn’t resist the desire for food.
With the continuous barking of two Australian Wild Dogs, they slowly walked out of the oasis.
In the eyes of the Australian Wild Dogs, this was going to be a simple hunt.
Their leader couple had already issued tactics.
Much like besieging a sheep flock, by chasing, they would let the old, weak, sick, and disabled fall behind, and then attack in unison.
However, they didn’t know the difference between humans and sheep.
When sheep are cornered, they might ram them, causing so pain.
But when humans are cornered, it can be deadly!
Seeing the Australian Wild Dogs about to attack, Chen Wen no longer hesitated: "Attack!"
If the Australian Wild Dogs were allowed to run, Adam and Hua Yun’s hit rate would drop, not to ntion, if they got too close, there was a risk of injury.
So Chen Wen decisively issued the order to attack.
As soon as Chen Wen’s voice fell.
Hua Yun and Adam both drew their bows and arrows, pulling their short bows into a full moon.
Just as they aid at their targets, about to release.
Swoosh!
Along with the sound of the wind.
A tal long spear, gleaming with silver light, whistled as it flew out.
What a fast attack!
Those who heard the whistling wind were alard!
Chen Wen’s offensive is that swift and fierce, like a hurricane and thunder!
Whoosh!
Followed by a slightly softer whistle, Adam and Hua Yun released their arrows simultaneously.
At this mont, the Australian Wild Dogs did not yet know what they were about to face.
The male leader was still barking, urging its companions to attack.
And at this mont.
Chen Wen’s long spear whistled over.
The male leader seed to sense sothing.
As it tilted its head, just trying to see what was approaching.
Thud!
[Thorn]!
The already sharp long spear, with the reinforcent of the entry, seed to break everything in its path.
The powerful force propelled the male leader’s body, piercing through it while carrying it backwards for a distance, finally pinning it in the sand.
One hit kill!
The male leader only managed a couple of whimpers before its body, due to sudden blood loss and shattered organs, beca gradually cold.
The other Australian Wild Dogs were still unaware of what had happened.
But soon, there were two more whimpers.
Two wild dogs were accurately shot by Hua Yun and Adam.
At a distance of less than twenty ters.
Hua Yun and Adam might not hit a hundred out of a hundred shots, but ninety-nine out of a hundred was not difficult.
The arrows accurately pierced through the bodies of the Australian Wild Dogs, destroying their organs.
The fur of the Australian Wild Dogs is not thick, just like ordinary dostic dogs.
Moreover, they live in hot regions, so their fur is relatively thin.
Therefore, Hua Yun and Adam’s arrows have trendous lethality!
The sound of whimpering arose, and the other Australian Wild Dogs were frightened.
They didn’t expect, without even getting close to this peculiar prey, their numbers had already decreased.
And at this mont.
A wail sounded.
The female leader spotted her mate’s death.
She whimpered, involuntarily feeling fear.
And right at this ti, Hua Yun and Adam’s second round of attack had arrived!
Two more wild dogs were badly hurt.
They yelped and tried to run away.
But before running far, their bodies suddenly grew weak, and they fell to the ground awkwardly.
The remaining Australian Wild Dogs, seeing this scene, had completely lost their fighting spirit.
The fear once instilled by humans reerged from their genes.
The wild dogs let out mourning cries and began to flee.
By this ti, Hua Yun and Adam’s third round of attack had begun.
Chen Wen watched as the two drew their bows, about to speak, but the arrows already flew out.
However, this ti Adam missed, but Hua Yun hit again!
In just a few breaths, half of the wild dog pack was down!
