Now reading: Chapter 97 - 8: Eel Hunts Octopus, Chen Wen Behind! from Wilderness Survival with Druid System, a Fantasy novel by The bright moon crossing the mountain.

Compared to the moray eel, the octopus is quite small.

And the octopus is trying to escape.

The moray eel is in pursuit from behind.

Once you get the octopus, the moray eel absolutely won’t continue pursuing.

So, let the octopus go and hunt for the bigger moray eel instead.

That was Chen Wen’s decision.

[Tentacles], [Ambush], [Creeping in the Darkness], [Hiding].

All four stealth skills activated.

Chen Wen grasped his long spear and dagger tightly, crawling on the seabed, changing his position.

So he could always remain on the inevitable path of the moray eel and the octopus.

Simultaneously, Chen Wen also made use of the uneven coral reefs to hide his body as much as possible.

The pursuing octopus and moray eel didn’t know that an ambush awaited ahead, just waiting for them to fall in.

To be precise, it was waiting for the moray eel to fall in.

Getting closer and closer!

Chen Wen suppressed his excited heart, his trembling hands.

Staring motionless at them.

The octopus approached!

When it passed over Chen Wen, it seed to sense sothing.

Below... what the hell is that!

Holy shit, it’s huge!

The octopus’s tentacles shivered, then it suddenly spurted a jet of water, accelerating again.

Chen Wen didn’t cast a single glance at the octopus.

In hunting, focus is crucial.

At that mont, Chan Wen’s entire focus was on the giant moray eel.

It’s here!

In Chen Wen’s cara view.

The viewers suddenly saw a creature that seed like an ancient sea beast barging in!

What is this!

As the viewers leaned back in amazent, just about to question.

Chen Wen suddenly kicked off the seabed.

[Launch Start]!

The trendous force acted back on Chen Wen, making him spring up from the seabed like a spring compressed to its limit!

Chen Wen raised his left arm and thrust out the long spear.

As if by so divine will.

[Agility] was triggered!

Chen Wen’s strike ignored the resistance of the seawater!

The moray eel didn’t even have ti to react before the long spear pierced it fiercely from below.

The long spear stabbed into the front of the moray eel’s body, about fifty centiters from its head.

Before the moray eel could react.

Chen Wen swung the long spear, pressing the moray eel’s body toward the seabed.

This ti, luck wasn’t quite on his side; [Agility] wasn’t triggered.

But it was enough!

As the moray eel struggled and rolled its body into a small ball.

Chen Wen pinned it on the seabed.

Applying more force, thrust in!

Accompanied by a cloud of sand spurting up from the seabed.

Chen Wen distinctly felt a change in feedback.

The moray eel had been pierced through!

Halfway there!

Chen Wen’s eyes lit up, brandishing the long spear.

Dragging the moray eel out of that dust cloud.

The moray eel no longer appeared graceful.

It was like a worm, its whole body curled up.

Trembling continuously, struggling continuously.

Even though it knew that on the seabed, the hunter could beco the prey at any mont.

It hadn’t expected it to happen so swiftly!

The moray eel, in its violent struggle, discovered Chen Wen’s presence.

It sought revenge, one last desperate struggle!

But after lessons from Black Panther, Chen Wen was no brute anymore.

He used the long spear to maintain distance, giving no chance or distance for the moray eel to attack.

Looking at the moray eel’s ferocious appearance, viewers watching through the cara shivered.

[Damn! What just happened!]

[What the hell is this thing! A sea snake? So damn terrifying!]

[Eek! I hate anything without legs!]

[It looks just like Godzilla! The one that can evolve infinitely from that island movie, stage one]

[Its eyes are very similar! A bit stupid and adorable]

[Damn! Why are you focusing on this thing, do you realize how remarkable Chen Wen’s performance just was?]

[Remarkable? How so?]

[Crap, a human almost completely ignored the resistance of the seabed to deliver a deadly spear thrust, isn’t that remarkable?]

[Has physics ceased to exist! The force Chen Wen just exploded with is probably at the human limit, right?]

[He’s basically a superhero!]

[Is it really that exaggerated? Isn’t it just a spear thrust? I could do it too!]

[Not that exaggerated, but it’s not sothing just anyone from the chat could pull off either. Chen Wen’s strength is significant to achieve this effect]

...

Chen Wen didn’t know how much discussion his strike, which ignored seawater resistance, had stirred online.

He only knew.

His new skill was secure!

As the moray eel’s struggle gradually weakened.

Chen Wen slowly swam downward.

He steadily drew out his dagger, always ready to strike the moray eel’s body and deliver a fatal blow.

Taking advantage when the moray eel bit onto the long spear.

Chen Wen seized the opportunity, swiftly penetrating the moray eel’s head with the dagger.

With a forceful twist from Chen Wen, the moray eel jerked once.

Chen Wen slowly pried open the moray eel’s head, watching it thrash and sink to the seabed.

Little trash, still trying to launch a desperate struggle.

Chen Wen grinned, packing the still-wriggling moray eel into a net bag.

This thing, similar to a snake, retains so vitality even after death.

After securing the moray eel, Chen Wen started to head back.

But as he turned around, the octopus that had been chased by the moray eel was still lingering not far away.

Why is this little guy still here?

Looking at the octopus, Chen Wen had no desire to hunt it.

This creature couldn’t compare to the moray eel, and hunting it would be more challenging.

Given its agility, even the moray eel couldn’t catch up, let alone Chen Wen.

Chen Wen waved amicably, bidding farewell to the octopus.

Though his mouth only opened, releasing a string of bubbles.

Ignoring the octopus.

Chen Wen began to float upward.

...

"Whew!"

Chen Wen surfaced, taking a deep breath.

Comfortable!

He waved his hand, reuniting with Zhang Hu.

But when Zhang Hu saw the still-wriggling moray eel.

The normally timid Zhang Hu kicked his legs, his body retreating violently.

His speed even rivaled [Launch Start].

"Holy mother!"

Zhang Hu’s fingers trembled, pointing at the writhing moray eel in the net bag: "W...what is this!"

"Eel, a good catch! I’m gonna rest a bit."

Chen Wen chuckled, climbing onto the bamboo raft to rest.

The underwater battle ended quickly, but it drained so of his energy.

Chen Wen planned to take a break before diving down again.

If that octopus was still around, he could try catching it with the net bag later.

Just as he was thinking this, Chen Wen suddenly noticed.

The octopus that had been hunted by the moray eel was leisurely approaching the surface.

"Damn? What’s the situation here?"

Chen Wen exclaid in surprise.

Hearing Chen Wen’s words, Zhang Hu suppressed his unease about the moray eel.

He couldn’t help but ask: "What? What’s wrong?"

Chen Wen pointed at the octopus not far away, explaining: "I just encountered a moray eel underwater—this thing—chasing this octopus."

"The octopus’s escape route just happened to pass by , so I took the chance to kill the moray eel. Who would’ve thought, after the moray eel died, the octopus still didn’t leave and even dared to follow along."

Hearing the story, Zhang Hu laughed and said: "Is it here to thank you? After all, you saved it."

"Thank ?"

Chen Wen grinned: "Then it can leave so at."

Though he said it, in reality, Chen Wen didn’t make any move to hunt.

Mainly because he was tired!

He thought for a mont, then tossed a small sea snail to the octopus: "Here, consider this the reward for bringing the moray eel, hurry and go."

"Next ti I’m here, bring a few small moray eels; the smaller ones have less poison and are more reassuring to eat than these big ones."

The sea snail landed near the octopus.

Seemingly startled by the sea snail, the octopus imdiately flailed its tentacles, swimming downwards.

Paying no more attention to the octopus, Chen Wen lay back on the bamboo raft, beginning his rest.
