What’s going on with the Young Master? What did the master do to Scarlett Yates to make him so angry?
Uncle Spencer pondered as he watched Matthew Saxon’s gradually receding figure. It wasn’t until he saw him carrying Scarlett Yates down the stairs that Uncle Spencer turned back toward the study.
At the door, he knocked gently twice.
"Co in." Ian Douglas’s voice ca from inside, sounding quite displeased, tinged with a bit of anger, as if he was upset about sothing.
Uncle Spencer pushed the door open and walked in.
"Master, what did you do to Miss Yates? I just ran into the Young Master, and he seed very angry."
Matthew Saxon had transferred all his anger onto him, which showed just how furious he was.
Recalling Scarlett Yates’s pale, bloodless face, Uncle Spencer furrowed his brows, hesitated for a few seconds, and asked in surprise, "Master, did you physically punish Miss Yates?"
If that were the case, it wouldn’t be good, and no wonder the Young Master was so angry.
Ian Douglas had a stubborn temper, and when his anger surged, he couldn’t control himself. After hitting soone, he didn’t feel completely unremorseful.
In front of won, he always maintained his gentlemanly deanor and had never hit a woman himself.
One could say Scarlett Yates was the first woman he had personally hit.
Though his strikes were just the way an elder might discipline a junior, like slapping her palms, the fact that he hit her until she nearly passed out already went against his original intention.
At first, he just wanted to symbolically discipline her a little, so she’d rember and restrain her temper.
But later, the little girl not only failed to apologize but dared to insult him, calling him dark-minded, perverted, and an old fox with a black heart.
No one dared insult him like that.
Even Matthew Saxon had never been so brazen in front of him.
He was furious and imdiately decided to teach her a lesson until she begged for rcy and admitted her mistake.
But little did he know, the little girl was stubborn; the more he hit her, the more aggressively she insulted him, like a mule stubbornly refusing to bow its head.
Ian Douglas’s temper flared, Scarlett refused to give in, and neither could he let it go, leading to heavier strikes.
One was unwilling to bow, and the other was determined to keep hitting if she didn’t, leading to the ensuing result.
"That girl is really too arrogant. If she’s not taught a lesson, how will she learn her limits?" Even though Ian Douglas felt he was wrong, he would never admit his mistake verbally.
Yet inside, he thought his behavior just now was really lacking in propriety. After all, he was a respectable figure and an elder, bullying a young girl like that.
If word got out, it would greatly affect his reputation.
If people misunderstood him as truly being dark-minded and perverted, liking to bully the weak, it would destroy the reputation he had painstakingly built up over the first half of his life.
When Uncle Spencer ca in, he already saw the ruler on the desk, and roughly guessed what had happened.
He frowned and disapprovingly said, "Master, even if Miss Yates was in the wrong, you shouldn’t have laid a hand on her. She’s an adult, not a child. Doing that can really hurt her self-esteem."
"I just saw Miss Yates being carried out by the Young Master. Master, how could you hit her like that? It’s not like your usual behavior."
