Is there anyone her age who still gets their palm hit with a ruler?
"If the swelling goes down, then there’s no need to go. But if it doesn’t help, you need to visit the hospital for a proper check-up." Matthew Saxon knew what she was worried about, and he couldn’t help but smile gently, softening his tone. "Don’t feel embarrassed. When the ti cos, I’ll ask Ashton to take a look at it for you."
Suddenly, when he ntioned Hayes Simmons, Scarlett Yates couldn’t help but think of Stella.
She didn’t know where Hayes had taken Stella that day or what they discussed. Would Stella be unable to resist revealing her pregnancy to him?
"Scarlett, do you feel wronged and angry that your grandfather hit you today?"
Matthew gently brushed aside her hair from her forehead and sighed, frowning. "I didn’t expect him to actually lay a hand on you. What he did was indeed too much. I will go to him for an explanation. If he really can’t stand you, we’ll move out."
"Move out?" Scarlett froze and widened her eyes, lifting her head and staring at him in surprise.
Matthew nodded, his elegantly slender fingers gently wiping the sweat that had just ford on her forehead. "Yes, move out. There are many places outside to stay."
Scarlett was silent for a while, a hint of hesitation flashing in her dark eyes. After a while, she asked softly, "Will you... move out with ?"
Matthew nodded without hesitation. "Of course, I ant us together."
She felt an emotional surge deep within, as if a warm current flowed through her heart. The dicated hand felt icy cold, yet his breath on her forehead was gentle and warm.
She originally thought he ant for her to move out on her own.
"If you and I move out, will your grandfather be willing to stay here alone?" Scarlett felt that there was no way she and Ian Douglas could get along. They were extrely displeased with each other, and such an incident happening once ant it could happen a second or third ti.
The first ti was a palm slap; the second ti might even be a spanking or sothing similar.
Thinking about ancient corporal punishnt made Scarlett shudder and tremble.
Before Ian Douglas slapped her palm, she hadn’t thought he would lay a hand on her.
After all, he’s an elder and quite a notable person; how could he mistreat her, a junior?
Now she realized how naive she had been.
He’s simply an unpredictable old fox. The rules that can constrain normal people don’t an anything to him.
So, angering soone like him is quite a tragic thing.
Ian Douglas acts entirely on impulse, doing whatever he pleases, without regard for anything else.
She definitely doesn’t want to be beaten to death!
Matthew’s suggestion was tily like rain in a drought, and Scarlett was already eager to move out. She felt it’d be best if she could leave today, as she’s afraid that just seeing Ian Douglas would reignite her anger.
"Ignore him." Matthew snorted coldly, his expression darkening. "The way he’s treating you is just forcing to move out. He doesn’t care about my feelings, so why should I care about his?"
Scarlett fell silent and said nothing.
If she were one of those so-called gracious and gentle won, perhaps she’d persuade him to value peace and not clash with her grandfather.
