Now reading: Chapter 76: Witch Hunter [Part 11] from Witch Hunter: Lord of Lust and Sin, a Drama novel by AlexanderWilde.

As Richard was enjoying his ti, back in the US, Kyla Kain was busying herself inside Richard’s workshop.

"That’s good, a few more years and you’d be able to compete with that Cindy woman"

Next to her was a familiar old man who Richard would imdiately recognize.

"Dad... I’m not-"

"Stop it, you know that your choices are limited right now. But that man is one of the few people in the world who could be considered as "good", other n are users and abusers, while that Richard fellow isstill quite a bastard, he does have so good points"

"..."

Kellin Kain, the man who Richard had purchased a storage container from, the storage container that contained a pair of brass knuckles that had been soaked in countless souls.

But those brass knuckles were now gone, in its place were rings.

"When I learned of the secrets of religion and their connections to magic, I started to see if I could develop my own. While it’s not as great as the holy see, it’s a foundation that could bring unmatched power"

Kellin explained as he helped his daughter complete the process of creation.

"Honey, ti for breakfast"

Kyla stopped, even when Kellin tried to protest, the stern look his wife gave him forced the old man to remain quiet.

"You don’t have to worry about Richard, Kyla, just follow what your heart desires"

"That... I..."

"If Richard is the man you like then I wouldn’t stop you, but don’t get pressured by that old man to do things you don’t want to do okay?"

Kyla nodded her head as she listened to her mother, Kellin could only avert his gaze not saying anything more.

After Richard left, Kyla waited.

The reason she was left in the US was because she was nothing more than dead weight.

While it is true that she was dragged out of her ordinary life by Richard and his group, it was also true that she was desperately looking for a way out even before they ca into her life.

Kyla was not going to delude herself into blaming Richard and his group for her current life, in fact, the opportunity to once again talk with her mother made all her sacrifices worth it.

The people who were trying to make her life a living heel were quite high ranking people with tons of connections.

Richard saved her but he did it only at the request of her father.

At first Kyla was hesitant to accept the man who had abandoned her and her mother.

She believed that her father was dead and while the pension they received was helpful, it did not remove the fact that she had no father. Moreover, her status as the child of an Arican was worthless as her only living parent was a non-arican who only beca one because she married a true Arican.

Many people in the US talk about citizenship and how Arica is the land of immigrants who built a nation and all that.

But deep down, those sa people know that a country ford by immigrants does not an that all immigrants would be treated the sa.

While the founding fathers were conquerors and immigrants, that status changed the mont the nation of Arica was founded.

Calling the founding fathers immigrants was nothing more than making a joke of their sacrifice.

If the Founding Fathers were indeed immigrants and then the nation of Arica is a colony of Britain.

After all, the founding fathers started off as immigrants from Britain who ca to the US to colonize the new world.

But that is the reason why Arican Independence is celebrated, why the 14th of July is hailed as the "Birth of Arica as a nation".

If the founding fathers were to be called immigrants, then the US does not exist.

The founding feathers and everyone who beca the first citizens of the US formally lost their status as Immigrants when they founded the nation.

That’s one of the reasons why Arica was founded in the first place.

That is the foundation of the Arican dream.

But Kyla knew... no matter how much one dread, all of those dreams were just worthless fantasies.

In the end, it didn’t matter whether you believed the words of one party or the other.

You get discriminated against because people want to step over you.

White Aricans push whatever narrative they want so they could get advantages over others. Whether it’s the "destruction of the Arican Dream" or the "Black Fatigue".

Sa goes for Black Aricans who claim racial profiling while actively calling each other the "N word".

If it was that "traumatic" then why do they call each other, their brothers, their sisters such a word?

Asian Aricans who create their own "towns", a small version of their "ho nation" within the nations they immigrated to and got citizenship in.

In the end, people are all hypocrites.

Even the "kind college student" fighting for "human rights" probably never had a gun pointed at her even once in her life. The sole reason they speak out in rallies is because they are communication majors who want to show off their "ability" and build connections to get better referrals.

Then there are the college students who "fight for what’s right" yet decide to schedule their rallies right on the date of exams.

Kyla had lived through it all, but she won’t bla anyone for doing such things.

The college student who screams BS which even they don’t believe?

They do it because they NEED more opportunities.

The Black man who shows off his "gang" proudly talks about how many people ran away when he pulled out his "weapon" and how easy it was to "score a hit". That sa man would be the first to claim police brutality when law enforcent catches him.

Innocents are always affected, the kid who decided to wear all black because he thought it was cool would get shot because the description of an actual criminal was "wearing all black".

Misidentification is not uncommon but instead of blaming the asshole who caused the altercation by "willfully committing a cri", people bla the police as if they were God’s who could do no wrong and when they make a mistake, they are upheld to standards way above what a normal human could ever hold up.

But whether it’s law enforcent or the common masses, the biggest problem was the people who believed they could do anything because of "crowd justice".

If the crowd was right, where were they when she was being harassed by her superiors?

If the crowd was right, what would they do if she went public about the harassnt?

In the end, the crowd just wants to have a reason to "do sothing", whatever it leads to is sothing they don’t care about.

Criminals and those accused would make an apology, the crowd would turn away satisfied but the perpetrator could easily smirk and do the sa thing again... and again... and again.

People are idiots, they want the satisfaction of "being a hero" but don’t want to put any effort into it. If they could spend half a day protesting for soone’s rights that would be enough for them to say that they were a "good person".

It was neither kindness nor justice, just pure self satisfaction...

Kyla did not want to return to that world, instead, the world of magic...

It was filled with madn and crazies but-

They were true to their hearts and beliefs.

Richard never said he was a good person, nor did he ever claim to be bad.

The sa was true for Cindy, Hana and even Raganar.

Hell, her own father was a monster that took advantage of an unknown number of people for his own sick experints.

Yet they never claid it to be for "the greater good" or that "it has to be done".

Richard did what he wanted because he can.

Her father experinted and even now, is continuing his research and experints because he wants to see where it ends.

Richard never claid that his actions would save others, if anything, it was only saving himself.

Her father never claid that his actions would bring a world of peace, he only did it because he wanted to see how far he could go with magic.

Everyone around Kyla, whether it was the mystics, her family or even the person who claims to be a Goddess.

They all moved because they wanted sothing and their actions would benefit them.

Never once did they move for the sake of others, never once did they claim that they "HAD" to do sothing for others.

In a world of hypocrites and self-serving motherf*ckers. Kyla found herself attracted to the people who don’t try to mask their evil with a veil of kindness.

That’s why... even if it was short, the man Richard-

"He’s too handso"

Grabbed hold of her heart through his looks.

Yes, there was a rit to his personality and attitude but what of it?

Kyla could care less if a man was S*perman or B*tman, what she cared about was capability and looks.

Deep in her heart, Kyla had found the world where people are true to themselves as greatly attractive and the handso man with unparalleled power and wit who also had a thod to snap his fingers and earn money-

Who wouldn’t fall for that guy?

Any b*tch who claims that he’s just an asshole is a liar.

The looks he got from his bloodline shows off how perfection could be,

Moreover!

That was without make-up!

Richard could be covered in dust, his face could be covered in blood but his attractiveness would not vanish!

At one point during his training, Kyla even secretly hoped that Ragnar would rip Richard’s clothes off.

Completely was likely impossible but if she could get a glimpse of his pecs...

"The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree"

Yarah, Kyla’s mother said with a smile while Kellin turned to his beloved wife, his expression conflicted but he still remained silent.

A million questions popped up in his head but kellin chose to keep it all to himself.

The less he knew, the better it would be.

"Still, how much longer will Richard take? Is Japan really that bad?"

Kellin asked trying to steer the conversation away and at that mont-

"HANDS IN THE AIR!"
