Leaving the sect's hidden world to Senior Brother Ying to manage, Lin Fan headed off to a different place.
Unlike with the sect's hidden world, this was a place that he didn't want people following him to.
Other than the fact that this place was a place that was considered a high security place, it was just that this was a place that had sothing that he didn't want to show people.
If it wasn't for the fact that it was necessary, he certainly would have never allowed this thing to exist in Dungeon City.
But it was necessary which was why an exception was made.
In a sense, this place was also a place for containnt and a prison for certain people.
Though at the sa ti, it wasn't as if there was only one kind of person that was in this place.
There were also people that had been sent here to watch over the place on behalf of Lin Fan.
This was also who ca to greet him when he arrived at this place.
"Sect Master, you're finally here! We've been waiting for you!"
The person that was leading this group waved his hand at Lin Fan when he saw him.
Lin Fan gave a nod and walked over to where this person was, but he couldn't help raising a brow as he looked at this person.
It wasn't that he doubted the loyalty or the ability of this person, it was just that it was a surprise to him that this person was chosen in the first place. He was one of the people that seed to blend into the background, so it was even more surprising when his abilities were demonstrated.
But there was a reason why he had been left in charge of this place.
As for who this person was, his na was Bill.
Bill was one of the mbers of Kennedy's crew, but he was just one of the simple crew mbers that had a basic job.
That was until it was discovered that he had a background in the sa field of research as Tucker.
"Why did you sign up for a job on this ship then?" Kennedy asked this when Bill's hidden talents were discovered. It seed that even he as the captain didn't know about the special skills that Bill had.
Bill just said with an awkward smile, "It's not a good working environnt, those labs. That's why I chose to work on this ship instead." Then after a pause, he added, "Of course, it wasn't as if I had expected to be sent as the vanguard either."
Kennedy looked at Bill with a strange look after he heard this, but he chose not to question Bill any further.
The qualifications that Bill actually had made him more than qualified to work on this ship. At the sa ti, it would have made him very qualified to work in so of the prestigious labs at headquarters.
It was strange that he chose to work on a ship like this…
But the degree that Bill held actually made him perfect for analyzing the things that they obtained from the lab. That was because Bill held a degree in both microbiology and genetics.
With this, he would be able to replicate Tucker's work if he wanted.
Though it wasn't as if he actually wanted to replicate Tucker's work.
The first ti that Bill saw Tucker's work, he almost threw up from how cruel it was. There was no doubt that he wouldn't fall for this and would be against everything that Tucker stood for.
Still, Bill volunteered to do what needed to be done after seeing the things that Tucker did.
Once Lin Fan ca over, Bill led him right into the lab that had been set up.
As they walked through the lab, Lin Fan could see the researchers working all over the lab. The mont that they felt Lin Fan's gaze fall onto them, all of them imdiately looked away from him.
With the way that they turned their heads, it was clear that they were afraid of him.
Of course, there was a good reason for them to be afraid of Lin Fan.
That was because these researchers were the ones that had been captured alive from the one lab that Lin Fan raided. They were the ones that had done the auxiliary work that was necessary for Tucker's research.
As such, they knew a bit about his research, which was why Lin Fan brought them to this lab.
But their fear of Lin Fan didn't disappear.
"It's that devil again."
"When will he let us go?"
"I don't know, we've already been here for almost two weeks now…Who knows when we'll finally be able to be free of this place."
Lin Fan could clearly hear their words with his sharpened hearing, but he acted like he didn't hear a single thing.
That was simply because he didn't care about what they thought about him.
The only thing that he cared about was if they did their work, so he gave a look to Bill. When Bill saw this, it was only natural that he would give the order to the others to get back to work.
And the researchers all quickly returned to work when they received this order from Bill.
It wasn't that they were afraid of Bill, but rather they feared the punishnt that Bill could give them.
For Bill to control these researchers, the best way was to use fear.
That was why Lin Fan had given Bill sothing to use against the researchers that would definitely put fear in them.
That was how he had been able to ta all of them like this.
Once the researchers went back to work, Bill brought Lin Fan over to one of the special rooms. This was one of the rooms that the normal researchers didn't have access to, one that only Bill and the people that he approved of could access.
That was because there was sothing special that was here.
There were several large glass vats that were in this place and they contained sothing, but it was different from the large glass vats that had been in the labs previously.
That was because it wasn't a creature that was inside, it was just a mass of cells.
While so might argue this could be considered worse.
This mass of cells was sothing that Bill had co up with, it was made from parts that were gathered from the spirit beasts that had been taken care of by Tucker.
These were samples that weren't considered in the best shape, but Bill had sohow created sothing out of them which was quite the impressive feat.
Now it was just about…
"So, is there anything that is useful here?"
The reason that Lin Fan had allowed Bill to do research like this was because he wanted to see if there was anything that could be found from researching these things. He didn't have much hope, but he did want to see if it was possible to find out just what Tucker was doing with the spirit beasts, as well as see if there were any clues that would lead to Tucker.
When Bill heard this, his eyes lit up before he started giving an explanation about his work.
It was just that this wasn't what Lin Fan wanted to hear.
He didn't have the information that Lin Fan wanted about Tucker or the spirit beasts.
Lin Fan had wanted sothing that would lead him to where Tucker was hiding or he wanted to know more about these spirit beasts, just so he knew best how to deal with them.
But based on what Bill was saying, it seed that the only thing he really cared about were the abilities of the spirit beast.
It seed that with his research, he was able to find so useful ones that had, more useful than just being used in battles. These were things that would certainly be helpful to mortals or low grade cultivators, even soone like was able to figure this out.
Other than that, it seed that there was another substance that was discovered because of the research that Bill did.
"It's a very natural source. As long as we keep these cells alive, there will be no shortage of this." Bill said in an excited voice as he looked at the large glass vat in front of him.
It was just too bad that Lin Fan had sothing to say.
"How likely do you think people will just accept these things that ca out of nowhere?"
There was a look of dismay that appeared on Bill's face after he heard this.
It seed like he was struggling with sothing with the way that his expression was, but he eventually shook his head to show that Lin Fan was right.
He ca from the technologically advanced continent in the first place, so he was used to stuff like this. Only for those that were from the cultivation world, this wasn't sothing that was that easy to accept.
Especially since it was an anti biotic drug.
This was without a doubt sothing that would be helpful to the people, it was just that Bill would never be able to release it.
dicine was just completely different when it was possible to find herbs that could even revive people.
So there was no need for stuff like antibiotics and stuff for the cultivators.
"It really doesn't have a use, does it?" Lin Fan said to Bill.
