Once he made it across the border, Lin Fan didn't waste any ti in heading to the nearest city.
It was a good thing that this smuggling passage was actually connected to the nearest city.
There was a part of him that thought that Haku would drop him in the middle of nowhere, but it seed that she at least didn't go that far. It seed that she still had her eyes on the prize as she sent him to where he needed to go.
But it also wasn't as if Lin Fan could walk around openly since he had entered the Kalos Empire illegally.
If he were to run into guards and they asked for his identification, then it would go against the reason why he smuggled himself into the Kalos Empire,
Fortunately, Lin Fan was good at hiding himself.
All it took was a simple illusion spell to make sure that no one looked twice in his direction.
The place that he was heading to was the underground market of this town.
This was also the reason why the smuggling route led to this place to begin with.
This underground market was the place where many illegal goods made their way into the Kalos Empire. But at the sa ti, it was the place where people recognized that illegal goods ca.
It wasn't as if the Kalos Empire could completely ban illegal goods, so they turned a blind eye to so of the larger underground markets.
After all, just because it was illegal didn't an that it didn't bring in the money. At the sa ti, the ones that were in charge of the underground markets understood that they couldn't avoid the authorities completely.
The large amount of money that they made had to be split with them.
So might call it a donation, but most would call it a bribe.
Regardless of what it was called, that was how these underground markets operated.
It was only when they shared the profits that they earned that they would be able to operate without trouble.
However, it wasn't completely because of this that the authorities just ignored these underground markets. It was also because of how useful these places could be to those people in charge.
After all, there were things that they couldn't be seen buying either.
There were things that could only be bought from places like this that they needed to keep secret from other people. And the things that were usually sold in this underground market were things that were kept silent.
The only thing that Lin Fan had to do now was find a place to auction off these materials.
There were stores that were influenced by the Laver Empire, which ant that it would only take a single order from Haku for them to accept these materials from Lin Fan. But that would leave a trail, so this wasn't sothing that they could do.
Instead, it was up to Lin Fan to find a place on his own to sell these things.
That was why he started wandering around in this underground market.
This place was similar to the black market that had developed in Dungeon City.
This was a place where different people set up different stalls on the side of the road selling their wares, but they hid themselves far more than the black market in Dungeon City.
After all, it was different than in Dungeon City where everyone had a special cultivation technique to hide their identity. In this place, magic that could be used to hide one's identity was not sothing obtained that easily.
So instead, everyone just wrapped themselves up as much as they could to hide their true identities.
It was just that none of that was of any use when placed in front of Lin Fan.
With his spiritual sense, he could see through any disguise that they used.
So they might as well have been naked in front of him since he could see every part of them with his spiritual sense, down to the parts that even so of them didn't know about.
But Lin Fan was certainly surprised by how weak these people were compared to cultivators.
This was sothing that he had already known after going around the Laver Empire and the Kalos Empire.
The magic continent had a different system of power compared to the cultivation continent. That ant that instead of having many different low level experts, what they had were many high level experts.
Those that reached the peak of swordsmanship and magic could be considered swordmasters and sages, but it wasn't just them. There were many other types of magic and other training thods that gave them different kinds of power.
Each one of them at their peak was comparable to the powerful experts of the Five Great Sects.
That was what allowed the magic continent to remain equal to the cultivation continent.
In a war, the magic continent would certainly suffer since their soldiers weren't as strong. But in a decisive battle to end the war, the magic continent would actually be at an advantage.
With all the different thods of training, there were quite a few that had reached the peak and could compare to those cultivators in the Transcendence Realm.
But that didn't matter here since it wasn't as if those people that had reached the peak of their path would be in a place like this. They were considered the most important people on the magic continent, so the places that they would be would match their status.
They were people that were at the heads of nations.
In this underground market, there were only those that relied on their asly strength to make a living.
As such, this was the perfect place for Lin Fan to do what he had always wanted to do.
"Who do you think you're trying to rip off?"
That was what Lin Fan said after entering one of the shops.
This was a shop that he had been paying attention to for a while now.
He had been watching over this shop as the people ca in and out and he had been paying attention to what had been happening inside. That was why Lin Fan chose to cause a commotion in this shop.
"Are you sure that you have the right shop? I think that there must be so kind of misunderstanding." The manager of the shop ca forward to ask this in a polite voice.
But at the sa ti, there were two large n that ca up with this manager. It was clear that they were there to intimidate Lin Fan if he tried to do anything.
However, Lin Fan wasn't afraid of these people at all as he looked right at the manager.
Then raising his hand, he acted like he was about to slam it down to cause damage to the store.
That was when the two large n suddenly charged forward as if they were about to stop him. The two of them raised their large arms as if they were about to grab Lin Fan.
It was just that he swept them away with a single wave of his hand.
They were picked up off the ground and thrown back, but they didn't actually slam into anything as they skid across the floor.
The manager had a concerned look when he saw this, but he didn't say anything as he looked at Lin Fan.
Then before he could say anything, there was soone that ca out from the back.
"Sir, if there's anything that we've done wrong, then please tell us. There's no need to use violence like this." This was a handso young man that ca down.
When the manager saw him, his eyes lit up and it seed like he was about to say sothing. However, the handso young man just raised his hand to stop the manager from saying anything.
Lin Fan narrowed his eyes to look at this handso young man before saying, "Well, then what kind of compensation are you prepared to offer ?"
"That all depends on what kind of compensation you are looking for." The handso young man said in a casual tone, as if he wasn't worried at all. Even though Lin Fan had already caused trouble in his store, it seed like he could see through what Lin Fan wanted.
After a mont of silence, Lin Fan said, "Very good, you pass."
"I'm happy to hear that I've passed, but I wonder if sir is willing to explain what this test entails and what you wish for us to do." The handso young man said with the sa smile on his face.
It was as if he wasn't fazed by anything that Lin Fan said.
"Well, I've been watching your store for a while now and I have a good idea of how much influence you have. At the sa ti, this test shows the sincerity that you'll be able to show if I use your services. So that's why I want you to hold an auction for ."'
This ti, the handso young man couldn't help slightly knitting his brows.
It was one thing if he wanted to sell sothing, but to ask them to host an auction…
An auction wasn't sothing that was that easy to host, especially once for this underground market.
That was why unless there were enough benefits to gain from it, this wasn't sothing that they wanted to undertake.
Lin Fan could see this, so he simply pulled out sothing that he tossed in front of the handso young man.
The mont that the handso young man saw this, the smile reappeared on his face.
