"Alchemy guiding system? What is that?"
Lin Fan was confused since he never heard of this before, but there was no denying that this was a thing since he could see the highlights around the herbs in front of him.
In fact, it was hard for him to deny it when the system made it this clear.
"Host, this system is a system that was sent to help guide you in your new life. As such, the system was equipped with all kinds of guiding systems to help the host."
A strange feeling filled Lin Fan when he heard this since the system had never ntioned this before. Most of the ti, the system just acted as if it was dead and never ca to his aid.
It really felt like the only reason that the system was doing this now was because there was sothing that it wanted.
"These guiding systems are for auxiliary paths such as alchemy, forging, or talisman refining. The host has never engaged in these activities before, which was why there was no need for the system to activate these systems."
Thinking about it, Lin Fan realized that this was indeed the case. It was just that he couldn’t help feeling strange about this new information from the system.
After all, it still felt like the system had ulterior motives.
"The system was sent to guide the host and nothing else. There’s no need for the host to be doubtful of the system."
Lin Fan allowed himself to be doubtful for a few seconds longer before tossing these thoughts out of his mind. After all, this wasn’t the important thing right now.
The most important thing was that the system was telling him what to do right now to pass through this trial. So all he had to do right now was follow the instructions that the system was giving him and focus on that.
Which was why he started grabbing the herbs that the system highlighted for him.
Only before he could actually put the herbs into the cauldron, there was this other light that appeared.
At first, the highlights around these herbs were green, but then they suddenly turned red as Lin Fan tried to put them in the cauldron.
"What is it now?" Lin Fan asked the system instead of trying to figure it out on his own.
"Host, the first step isn’t just to throw the unrefined herbs into the cauldron. Especially when it’s a cauldron of this quality. If you do so, then a part of the dicinal essence will be wasted."
"What’s wrong with this cauldron?" Lin Fan asked, but it didn’t seem like the system was interested in explaining this to him.
Instead, the system just said, "The first step is to refine the herbs first before putting them in the cauldron. Please utilize the special flas that the host possesses to properly refine them down before putting them in the cauldron."
It wasn’t the system’s instructions that caught Lin Fan off guard.
What caught him off guard were the diagrams that the system provided him.
These were diagrams that only he was able to see, but it contained a detailed illustration of what he should do with the flas to refine the herbs using them.
It looked like he had to wrap the flas around the herbs and create a bubble that would create an even distribution of heat around the herbs. As long as he did this, he would be able to refine all the different parts of the herb down into pure dicinal essence.
Though looking at the diagrams that were placed in front of him, there was a strange look that was on Lin Fan’s face.
After all, these diagrams were just too detailed.
Not only did it have step by step instructions on what he should do, there were even different temperatures that were marked for each of the herbs.
Since he had full control of these flas, it was easy for him to follow the instructions that were provided for him.
It was just that the way that the system provided all these instructions really made it seem like a proper guidance system. It seed like the system was taking all the work out of refining these pills for him.
The only extra thing that the system could do now was automate this process for him by controlling his body. Though even if the system offered sothing like that, it wasn’t as if Lin Fan would let it do that.
It wasn’t that he was afraid that the system would steal his body if he were to give it control.
What Lin Fan actually wanted was to take in the notes that the system was giving him and incorporate it into his own technique. The only way to actually do that was to follow the instructions that the system gave him.
With the alchemy techniques that he had obtained from the Dungeon Master System Store, he was actually able to follow along quite easily. As he followed along, he was able to learn a few things about alchemy through experiencing it with his own hands.
It really seed like this was a step to step guide that was helping him improve his alchemy skills.
Though it was still hard to believe that such a thing ca from the system.
Regardless of what it was, Lin Fan just followed all of the steps that the system provided for him. As he followed these steps, even he could tell that the refinent was progressing smoothly.
The mont that he released the flas around the dicinal essence to release it into the cauldron, he could already sll the strong scent that ca from it. Sothing that had this kind of scent definitely wouldn’t be low grade.
Once Lin Fan finished refining all of the herbs, he focused his flas around the cauldron itself.
When he did, he found that there were even indications from the system on where he should inject the fla into the cauldron. It seed like this was a comprehensive system that walked him through every step of the refinent.
It was to the point where it gave him notifications when it was ti to adjust the temperature of the flas.
This really went beyond just what a system should be capable of.
It reached the point where it might even be considered future technology.
It certainly wasn’t the kind of privilege that anyone else in this cultivation world was able to enjoy.
During this ti, neither Ye Qing Huan or the fla figure said anything.
The look on Ye Qing Huan’s face showed that she was completely taken aback by the actions of Lin Fan.
After all, she was soone that ca from the Heavenly Demon Sect and had seen many different alchemy masters refining pills before. As such, she had a good idea of what kind of techniques were used when refining pills.
As she watched Lin Fan refine the pill, she could tell that there were many similarities between him and those alchemy masters.
There were just a few places where he was lacking, but she knew that this was because his technique wasn’t at the sa level. But then again, the other side were alchemy masters that had been at the peak of alchemy for a long ti.
It would be strange if they had the exact sa technique.
As for the fla figure, there really was no way of telling what it was thinking since it didn’t let its face show. The only thing that one could tell was that it was focused on Lin Fan as he refined the pill.
After using the flas on the cauldron for a while, Lin Fan suddenly stopped releasing his flas.
When he did, the cauldron itself that had been shaking a bit settled down.
It seed like he was done with his refinent, but there was no sign that it was done.
There was no scent at all that ca from the cauldron, it was as if everything had been burnt away. Or the other possibility was that all of the scent was completely contained inside of the cauldron.
But if that was the case, it ant that the refinent was done so well that it completely retained all of the dicinal essence inside the pill.
This was revealed when Lin Fan took off the lid and the strong scent ca out.
The fla figure didn’t say a single thing as it ca forward to inspect the pill inside of the cauldron. It just looked at the pill as if it was thinking sothing, but it was hard to tell what it was thinking.
After a long mont of silence, the fla figure said, "You certainly passed this test with this pill."
Lin Fan wasn’t surprised by this judgent.
After all, he already knew that the pill that was refined with the guidance of the system wouldn’t be a normal pill. Even with his small understanding of alchemy, he was able to see through the guidance of the system.
With this guidance, it really was hard to fail with making this pill.
However the fla figure then asked, "How did you do it?"
Lin Fan was already expecting this question, which was why he already had an answer.
"I was able to identify the other herb, so why shouldn’t I be able to refine this?"
The fla figure seed to look at Lin Fan without saying anything. Even though he couldn’t see its face, he could guess that it was looking at him with narrowed eyes as if sizing him up.
However, Lin Fan just calmly looked back at the fla figure.
