Lin Fan just watched on the side for a while as they reconnected with each other.
He could understand what they were feeling and knew that it was right to give them ti to talk to one another.
Especially since there were so families that were finally reuniting after many years.
There were so children that had already completely grown up and joined the Mist Guards like their parents that had disappeared. So when their parents reappeared, it really was hard for them.
But it also felt good to bring these families back together again.
After they finished reuniting with each other, the forr leader of the Mist Guards, the current leader of the Mist Guards, and the city lord all ca over to Lin Fan.
Together, they cupped their hands and bowed their heads in gratitude.
Seeing this, the others also turned in Lin Fan's direction and did the sa thing as the three of them. Even the families of the Mist Guards that had been rescued all cupped their hands and bowed to him in gratitude.
Lin Fan just simply raised his hand as he said, "This is what I should do. We are all on the sa side, so there's no need for this."

The three of them were naturally surprised since they didn't expect this, but they were also a bit worried when they heard this.

So they just followed him back to the sa bar as before and went into the sa room.
As they ca in, the forr leader of the Mist Guards couldn't help revealing a faint smile as he looked around the bar and said, "This place really hasn't changed at all. It's still the sa as before."
The current leader of the Mist Guards gave a nod before pointing to the side.
The forr leader of the Mist Guards looked in the direction that he pointed in before a look of surprise appeared on his face and he asked, "Is that…?"
The current leader of the Mist Guards gave a nod before saying with a sad look, "That was the only thing that I was able to recover in the end."
What he pointed at was a sword that was put inside of a fra that was hung up on the wall.
It seed like the forr leader of the Mist Guards had a connection to this sword with the way that he acted.
It even seed like it was so kind of intimate connection with the expression on his face.
The current leader of the Mist Guards walked over to the sword on the wall and took it off the wall before presenting it to the forr leader of the Mist Guards.
The forr leader of the Mist Guards looked down at the sword, but he didn't take it in the end. He just looked back up at the current leader and asked, "Are you sure about this?"
The current leader of the Mist Guards said with a simple nod, "This is yours in the first place, we were just keeping it safe for you. It's only natural that it would go back to you now that you're back."
As he said this, there was a trace of emotion that appeared in both his eyes and his voice.
It wasn't hard to guess why he was acting this way, especially with the way that he looked at the forr leader of the Mist Guards.
In the end, the forr leader of the Mist Guards took the sword and waved it around a bit as if he was getting used to the sword. Then he pulled the sword back and released a single sharp slash out in front of him.
After that slash, there was a smile that appeared on his lips as he said, "It's still the sa as before. It feels like I've never lost it."
Then turning back to the current leader of the Mist Guards, he said, "I know what you want to say and there's no need for you to say anything." He turned to the city lord as well and said, "It's the sa for you. Neither of you needs to apologize. You did what you did that day because you thought it was for the best, no one blas you."
"But…" The two of them both had guilty looks on their faces when they heard this, but they didn't get to say anything else as the forr leader of the Mist Guards raised his hand to stop them.
"I'm just glad that our sacrifice allowed you two to survive. It's good that you've built up our Weeping Mist City to this point." He said with a faint smile on his lips.
The two of them looked like they were getting emotional again and almost seed like they were about to cry.
Lin Fan just stood silently on the side as he waited for them to finish, but the way that they kept going…
"Ke." In the end, Lin Fan just gave a simple cough to bring them back to their senses.
When they heard this, the three of them revealed awkward looks before following Lin Fan into the room. This was the sa room where Lin Fan had co with the city lord to the first ti.
When they were in the room and sitting down, Lin Fan just calmly said, "Do you wish to contribute to the Mu Empire?"
The three of them were all shocked and confused when they heard this.
They looked at Lin Fan with strange looks, as if they were trying to figure out what he ant by this. However, they weren't able to figure out anything no matter how they looked at him.
So in the end, the city lord asked, "Sir envoy, what do you an by this?"
Out of the three, the city lord really was the best suited to ask this question since this was related to the governnt of the Mu Empire. The city lord was related to that governnt since he was the city lord of Weeping Mist City.
The forr and current leaders of the Mist Guards both silently sat there and waited for an answer.
However, Lin Fan didn't give an answer and just continued by saying, "I'm sure that you all want to show your loyalty to the royal family."
Then turning to the city lord, he said, "I'm sure that you've also done your research and should know what kind of status I have."
The city lord was caught off guard when he heard this.
But the look on his face didn't seem like he was denying this.
That was because he had indeed heard rumours about the one that possessed this envoy token and knew what kind of status he had in the heart of the empress. If this person really was the one that the rumours talked about, then this really was a big matter.
The forr and current leaders of the Mist Guards had even more confused looks as they looked at the city lord. However, the city lord's attention was completely on Lin Fan after he said this.
Slowly, the city lord asked, "Sir envoy, just what are you looking for from us?"
This ti, he didn't hide anything, he just directly asked what Lin Fan's intentions were.
Lin Fan revealed a faint smile when he heard this.
This was the kind of person that he liked, he didn't want to keep beating around the bush to entice them. He just wanted to get to the main point since he knew that this was what they wanted in the first place.
He was just worried that they might have other thoughts, which was why he did this enticing in the first place.
"I'm sure that you want to be of use to the royal family, I can help you with that."
At this, the current and forr leaders of the Mist Guards imdiately knitted their brows and looked at the city lord.
They weren't fools and could understand based on the context of the conversation.
But this was just too big for them to say anything.
So they left this to the city lord.
The city lord didn't say anything as he just simply looked at Lin Fan for a bit, but then he suddenly asked, "What are you asking of us?"
Lin Fan just shook his head before saying, "Before that, I need to know where your loyalties lie. I need to know just how far you're willing to go for the royal family."
All three of them knitted their brows once more.
With the way that Lin Fan said this, it almost seed like he was asking them to sell their souls.
But after a while, the city lord just said in a firm voice, "As long as it's for the royal family, then we can do anything. They are the ones that gave us our lives here, so we will do all we can to repay them for thai grace."
The current and forr leaders of the Mist Guards nodded in agreent to this.
A faint smile appeared on Lin Fan's face when he saw this before he said, "Alright, I've seen your conviction. Then in the future…"
